The most useful Klaviyo integrations for an online store are the apps that hand it data it can't collect alone: quiz answers, survey replies, returns, reviews, loyalty points and subscriptions. Klaviyo already sends email and SMS itself, so pick outside apps by the stage of the shopper journey they feed, and check whether each one sends through Klaviyo or only syncs data into it.
Which apps should you plug into Klaviyo when it already sends your email and texts? That's the question most store owners are asking, and the honest answer is fewer than the app store suggests. The ones worth connecting are those that know something about your shoppers that Klaviyo can't see on its own.
Below are nine apps for Shopify-style stores, grouped by the moment in the shopper journey they feed into Klaviyo. They're listed in no particular order, and none is crowned, because the right mix depends on what your store sells and where shoppers drop away.
What Klaviyo already handles on its own
Klaviyo has its own native email and SMS. So this list isn't about replacing either; it's only outside apps that extend it. You'll notice there's no standalone SMS app here. None of the separate SMS tools could show a Klaviyo integration on their own sites, and since Klaviyo sends texts natively, that job stays with Klaviyo. If you do want a dedicated texting tool, our roundup of standalone SMS marketing software covers that field.
Two limits apply to every app below. Each one needs a Klaviyo account of your own, and the exact data that syncs depends on the app's version and plan, so read the vendor's integration page for the plan you're on before you build a flow around a field that may not arrive.
Before the first order: quizzes and surveys
This is where you learn what a shopper wants before they've bought anything. Octane AI builds product quizzes and, by the vendor's account, syncs each answer and recommended product to Klaviyo in real time, so a welcome flow can open with the products a shopper picked. Zigpoll runs on-site, post-purchase and attribution surveys; the vendor says surveys can be triggered from Klaviyo flows and that a detractor score can start a Klaviyo flow, which means it straddles this stage and the next.
After checkout: returns and tracking
The weeks after an order are when shoppers decide whether to come back. Loop Returns says its post-purchase data can be used in Klaviyo to recreate its notifications and build custom flows and segments, so returns and exchange messages can share your Klaviyo templates. AfterShip covers shipment tracking, returns and exchanges, and lists Klaviyo among the tools it integrates with.
Repeat buyers: reviews, loyalty and subscriptions
This is the busiest stage, and where overlap creeps in. For reviews, Junip sends its review requests through Klaviyo flows and adds a Review Submitted event, while Okendo bundles reviews with loyalty, quizzes and surveys and publishes its own guides on Klaviyo segments. For loyalty, Rivo adds points balance and VIP tier to Klaviyo profiles, and Smile.io shows loyalty points running inside Klaviyo flows. For subscriptions, Recharge features Klaviyo first among several email and SMS tools it connects to.
You rarely need more than one app per job here. Running two review apps, or a loyalty app plus a suite that also does loyalty, gives you two sets of data fighting over the same profile fields. For more on the review side, see our guide to review apps for Shopify stores.
Sender or data feed? Check which way the integration runs
Two apps that both say Klaviyo integration can work in opposite directions. Some send their own messages through Klaviyo, so Klaviyo becomes the sender and the templates live in your Klaviyo account. Others push data onto Klaviyo profiles, things like a points balance, a VIP tier or quiz answers, so you can segment on it while the app keeps its own messages. A returns app may do a bit of both.
Before you install, read the vendor's integration page and find out which way it runs. That decides where you edit templates, which tool shows the results, and whether a shopper could end up with two emails about the same event.

Plain advice for a lean Klaviyo stack
Start with the stage where your store loses the most shoppers, not with the app you've heard of most. If people browse and leave, a quiz or survey that feeds Klaviyo real answers will do more than another discount flow. If they buy once and vanish, reviews and loyalty are the place to look. If returns are heavy, a returns app that shares your Klaviyo templates keeps the experience consistent.
Add one app at a time, give it a few weeks, and check Klaviyo's own flow reports before adding the next. And if you're still weighing up the email platform itself, this comparison of Klaviyo and Mailchimp for online stores is a useful place to start.
An install order that avoids double emails
- Map which events you already send from Klaviyo: welcome, abandoned cart, shipping and review requests.
- Read the new app's integration page and note whether it sends through Klaviyo or only syncs data.
- Switch off the app's own emails for any event Klaviyo will now send, so shoppers don't hear twice.
- Place a test order with your own address and check which profile fields and events arrive.
- Only then turn the flow on for real shoppers, and keep the old flow paused, not deleted, for a week.

Frequently asked questions
Does Klaviyo need a separate SMS app?
No. Klaviyo sends SMS natively alongside email. A separate texting tool is only worth looking at if you need something Klaviyo's own SMS doesn't do for your store.
Do these Klaviyo integrations work outside Shopify?
The apps here are built mainly for Shopify-style stores. Some support other platforms, but check each vendor's own page for your platform before you plan around it.
Will an integration change my existing Klaviyo templates?
It depends on the direction. Apps that send through Klaviyo use flows and templates in your account, so you'll edit those. Apps that only sync data leave your templates alone and add fields or events you can use.
Why isn't a field from my app showing up in Klaviyo?
The data that syncs depends on the app version and the plan you're on, and some fields only arrive after a new event fires. Check the vendor's integration notes, then place a test order to trigger it.
Can two apps send a shopper the same email twice?
Yes, if both the app and a Klaviyo flow are set to message on the same event. Switch off one side before going live, and run a test order to confirm only one message arrives.
How many Klaviyo integrations should a small store run?
Usually one per job: one for reviews, one for loyalty, one for returns if you need it. More than that tends to create overlapping data and conflicting flows rather than more sales.
