The right Relume alternative depends on whether you need to plan a website, build it, or both. Sitemap planners and whiteboards map the structure and content, while AI site builders publish the live site. Decide which half of the job you want covered, then check how each tool hands your plan over to the builder you'll use.
Planning a website and building it are two halves of one job. Relume describes itself as an AI website builder that works from a component library, with publishing in Relume or export to Webflow, Figma and React. Some people love that it joins the two halves; others only ever used it for the sitemap and wireframe stage, or want a different way to build.
Plan, build or both?
Here's the split that decides your shortlist. Octopus.do, Slickplan, Visual Sitemaps, FlowMapp and WriteMaps describe planning structure and content on their own pages. Dorik, Mixo and ZipWP describe building the live site. They solve different problems, and a planner won't publish your site any more than a builder will plan it for you.
So start by deciding which half you need. If you design in Figma or build in Webflow or WordPress already, you probably only need the planning half. If you're a small business owner who wants a site live this week, you may not need a planner at all.
Then check the handover. How does the plan get from the planning tool into your builder: an export, copy and paste, or not at all? That's the step that eats hours if you don't ask early.
The nine tools below are in no particular order, listed A to Z, with a table after the list.

Where a whiteboard fits
Whimsical sits between the two halves. It's a whiteboard for diagrams, wireframes and documentation rather than a dedicated sitemap tool, so it suits teams who want to sketch page layouts, map user journeys and write notes in the same space. Many agencies use a whiteboard for early workshops with clients, then move to a sitemap planner once the structure settles.
If your team already has a whiteboard tool, try planning one small site in it before you add another subscription. It may be all you need.
My advice if you're switching from Relume
Look at your last three website projects and note where Relume helped most. If it was the sitemap and wireframe stage, pick a planner and keep building where you build now. If it was getting a site live fast, pick a builder and accept that you'll plan more loosely. Trying to replace both halves with one new tool at once is where most switches go wrong.

Ask how the plan reaches your builder
Before you commit to any planner, open a trial and build a small sitemap with five pages and a little content on each. Then try to move it into the builder you use. Does it export a file your builder understands? Can you copy sections across? Or will you retype everything? There's no wrong answer, but you'll want to know which one you're signing up for, because it decides how many hours each new project takes.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a sitemap planner and a website builder?
A sitemap planner maps the pages of a site and how they connect, often with wireframes and content notes. A website builder creates and publishes the live site that visitors use.
Do I need a sitemap before building a website?
For a site of more than a few pages, it helps a lot. A sitemap makes sure every page has a place and stops you building pages you don't need.
Can an AI website builder plan the site for me?
Some AI builders create a site structure as they go, which is fine for a small business site. For larger projects, a separate plan gives you more control.
Can I move a sitemap into Webflow or WordPress?
It depends on the planning tool. Some offer exports, others need copying by hand. Test with a small sitemap before you plan a whole client project there.
Is a whiteboard good enough for website planning?
For early sketches, workshops and small sites, often yes. Dedicated planners add sitemap structure, content fields and client sharing that larger projects need.
