TikTok Shop has two kinds of discount: seller coupons, which each shop pays for and runs itself (standard, follower, chat, review and promo code coupons), and TikTok Shop vouchers, which TikTok pays for. The rule that trips people up is in TikTok's seller guide: only one seller coupon can apply per shop per order, so a promo code and a follower coupon from the same shop won't stack.
Everything on this page comes from TikTok's own help. The coupon rules are from the US Seller University guide that tells sellers how coupons work, and the voucher rules are from TikTok Shop's EU voucher terms for shoppers. They're the rules behind the checkout screen, not a tour of it, and your app can look different by version and country, so I'll say whose rules each point comes from, as of Nov 2026.
The five seller coupons, compared
Seller coupons are discounts a shop funds itself: you claim them, then apply them at checkout. The seller sets the value, who's eligible, how long it lasts and which products it covers.

Those customer groups have exact meanings in the seller guide. New customers are people who've never made a purchase. Existing customers have bought at least one product from that seller. Repeat customers placed an order and bought again within 90 days.
One quirk: you lose new customer status once you've paid for an order, even if it's refunded. An unpaid order doesn't count. And a seller can only run one new customer coupon at a time, so you won't find two waiting for you.
Stacking: the one-coupon rule
TikTok's seller guide is blunt: a maximum of one seller coupon can be used per shop per order. Regular coupons, follower coupons and promo codes don't stack with each other. Claim three from one shop and checkout takes one, so pick the biggest. The good news is that the same coupon can be claimed and used again on a repeat purchase, where the seller allows it.
The review coupon is the exception that combines with other offers. The seller guide says it works alongside:
- product discounts and flash sales
- product subscriptions and early access deals
- Buy More Save More and Gift with Purchase offers
- free shipping promotions
It still won't stack with another seller coupon, and you can only use one review coupon per order. If you buy the same product twice in separate orders and review both, the guide says you can get two coupons.
How you earn a review coupon
This one's automatic. Buy one of the products the seller chose, then leave a review of at least 11 words with a picture or video. TikTok has to approve the review before the coupon is issued.
Here's the part most shoppers wouldn't guess: negative reviews qualify too. The seller guide says a buyer gets the coupon whether the review is positive or negative, as long as it meets the word count and media rules and passes approval. Reviews written for a coupon are tagged as a verified purchase incentivized review, so other shoppers can see a reward was involved.
Follower coupons are a one-shot deal
A follower coupon is a welcome offer for new followers of a shop or its LIVE. According to the seller guide, each person can claim and use one follower coupon for life. Unfollowing and following again won't get you a second one, and following both the shop and its LIVE still only earns one. So follow when you're about to buy, not weeks before.
TikTok Shop vouchers play by different rules
Vouchers are funded by TikTok, not the seller, and they're limited-time promotions. The EU voucher terms set out how they behave:
- They only work on eligible products, and only while those products are in stock.
- They can't be used on virtual products such as TikTok coins, unless that voucher's own terms say otherwise.
- They only work on TikTok Shop, never on another site or app.
- They're tied to the TikTok Shop version where you got them: a voucher granted on TikTok Shop Ireland only works on TikTok Shop Ireland.
- Each voucher can be redeemed once, against one order, and you can use one per order. Shipping vouchers are the exception: they can be used alongside another voucher.
- They can't be transferred, swapped or cashed in.
A TikTok voucher and a seller voucher can both apply to the same product. In that case the EU terms say the TikTok voucher comes off after the seller's discount has been taken. TikTok Shop doesn't sell the products itself, so your refund and cancellation rights are with the seller. What happens to discounts after a refund

Why your coupon won't apply: a checklist
- You already have a seller coupon from that shop on this order. Only one applies per shop per order.
- The coupon only covers certain products. Sellers can limit a coupon to specific items instead of the whole shop.
- You're under the minimum spend. The seller guide says the minimum is based on order value after product-level discounts, so a sale price can drop you below it.
- You're no longer a new customer, because you've paid for an order before.
- It's expired. Coupons last a set number of days after you claim them, or run between fixed dates.
- You've already used your follower coupon with that shop.
- It's a TikTok voucher from a different country's TikTok Shop, or you're trying to use it on TikTok coins.
Before you trust a coupon code site
Promo codes are made by individual sellers, and they don't last. The seller guide says a promo code's active period has to be more than 10 minutes and less than 30 days, and sellers can cap it at one claim per customer. So a code that's been sitting on a coupon site for months is almost certainly dead.
Two more details help you spot a real one. Every promo code gets an automatic four-character prefix taken from the first four characters of the shop's name, and each code has to be unique among live codes in that country. Sellers share codes by email, on social media, in LIVEs and videos or privately, so the shop's own channels are where a working one lives.
Claim it, then apply it
- Claim the coupon where the seller shows it, such as the product page, the shop tab, a LIVE or a chat message.
- Check it covers your products and note any minimum spend, then go to checkout.
- Choose the one seller coupon you want for that shop, or type or paste the promo code.
- If TikTok has given you a voucher, apply it to the eligible products in your cart during its promotion period.
- Check the final price before you pay. If a discount's missing, run through the checklist above.
My verdict before you check out
I'd start by picking the single biggest seller coupon for each shop, because that's the only one that'll count, then add a TikTok voucher on top if you've got one. I'd hold the follower coupon until the order you care about, since you only get it once, and I'd leave an honest review with a photo on anything you'd buy again, because the coupon arrives either way. Skip the coupon code sites unless the code is fresh and starts with the shop's name.
