Superhuman is the new name of the company behind Grammarly, and also an AI productivity suite that bundles Superhuman Go, Grammarly, Superhuman Docs (formerly Coda) and Superhuman Mail under one subscription. If you already pay for Grammarly, nearly everything stays the same: as of Nov 2026, Grammarly's help centre says your documents, settings and subscription plan aren't affected.
Grammarly announced the new company name on October 29, 2025. A year on, its help centre is full of questions from people who typed 'Superhuman AI' into Google because an email or an extension prompt told them to. Here's what it means in plain terms, and where the catches are.
Superhuman, Grammarly and the four apps in the bundle
Think of Superhuman as the parent brand and the suite as the bundle. Grammarly's own explainer lists four products:
- Superhuman Go: a new AI assistant that Grammarly says works across more than 1 million websites and apps.
- Grammarly: the writing assistant you already know.
- Superhuman Docs: the collaborative workspace that used to be called Coda.
- Superhuman Mail: the email app.
Grammarly, Docs and Mail stay on sale as standalone products for people who only want one. The suite is the option to buy them together, run from a single Superhuman admin account. Invite someone to that account and they're added across Grammarly, Docs and Mail at once, and billing preferences sync across all of them from settings.superhuman.com/billing.
Does anything change in your Grammarly?
Very little, unless you opt in. Grammarly says nearly all existing functionality is unchanged, and anything you saved in docs or the Grammarly Editor stays put.
The one choice you'll be offered is in the browser extension: switch to the Superhuman Go experience. If you do, the help centre says three things happen:
- You still see the Grammarly button in text fields, and the underlines stay.
- Grammarly's generative AI features are replaced by Go, which takes any custom request or prompt.
- The plagiarism and AI detection agents open from the sidebar instead.
Go has enough moving parts for its own explainer. The short version for this page: it's included in Superhuman Pro, and Grammarly says you can also reach it through an existing Grammarly subscription.
Superhuman plans and listed prices
These are the plans exactly as Grammarly's 'Introducing the Superhuman suite' page lists them, as of Nov 2026. Prices are per member per month.
| Plan | Listed price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Chat with AI in every app and tab, writing checks in 6 languages, collaborative docs with tables, charts, Kanban boards and forms |
| Pro | $12 billed annually, or $15 billed monthly | Spotting AI-generated text, fixing accidental plagiarism, keeping writing on brand; the annual plan includes Grammarly Pro |
| Business | $33 billed annually, or $40 billed monthly | Everything in Pro plus Superhuman Mail and syncing data from Jira, GitHub, Figma and more into docs |
| Enterprise | Custom | Advanced security and admin controls, SAML single sign-on, data loss prevention |
Read the Pro row carefully. On the annual Pro plan, Grammarly Pro is included. On the monthly Pro plan, Grammarly Pro is an optional add-on for an additional $15 a month. That's the line people miss when they compare the two billing options. Pro and Business both support up to 149 paid seats.
The listed payment methods are Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Plans move, so check superhuman.com/plans before you buy.
What happens to an existing Grammarly or Mail subscription
This is where the help centre gets honest, and where most of the confusion comes from. As of Nov 2026:
- Existing customers don't get automatic access to the suite. Your Grammarly subscription and billing amount stay the same.
- There's no way to consolidate separate subscriptions into the suite price. Start a new Superhuman subscription and your other subscriptions stay separate.
- Grammarly Pro customers can move to the suite by signing in at superhuman.com. Grammarly says access for other Grammarly subscribers isn't available yet and suggests contacting Support.
- Mail subscribers can convert to Superhuman Business at superhuman.com/plans, but only with the same email address as the Mail subscription. Use a different one and you'll keep being billed for Mail separately.
That last point has caught people out. Grammarly has a whole help entry for customers who bought the Business suite with a different email address and ended up double-charged. If that's you, contact Support before you cancel a team Mail subscription, because Grammarly warns that team data and settings won't transfer to your Superhuman account.
Why checkout says it can't complete your purchase
If you try to buy Superhuman Pro or Business and see 'Sorry, we're unable to complete your purchase at this time', Grammarly's billing FAQ says it may happen because you already have a Grammarly or Superhuman Mail subscription. The suite isn't yet open to many existing customers. It isn't your card.
A second message, 'Sorry, but your current plan is not eligible for an upgrade to Business', usually means you're on a discounted Pro subscription. Support is the route for that one too.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Hoping to try before you buy? Grammarly's billing FAQ says it doesn't currently offer discounts or free trials for the Superhuman suite. Grammarly on its own does run trials from time to time, which I cover in when Grammarly offers a free trial, but that's not the bundle.
Changing seats, upgrading and cancelling
Everything lives on the Subscription page, and Grammarly says changes there apply to every Superhuman product at once. To cancel:
- Go to the Subscription page.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Cancel Subscription.
- Choose Continue to cancel.
- Pick a reason from the list.
- Confirm by clicking Cancel Subscription.
You keep the service until the end of the term you paid for, but previous charges aren't refunded. Upgrading from Pro to Business only works for the same or a longer subscription period, and you're charged the prorated difference, shown before you confirm. Extra seats are prorated for the days left in your current period, then charged in full at renewal.
Which Superhuman plan I'd pick
I'd stay on the Grammarly plan you have today unless you want Go and Docs together. If Grammarly is the only tool you open every day, the suite adds things you won't use, and existing subscribers can't fold a current plan into the suite price anyway.
If you're starting fresh and your team lives in email, compare Business against what you pay for separate tools now, using the listed prices above. Skip hunting for a free trial or a discount code: the help centre says there isn't one for the suite right now. If you're weighing a different email app altogether, here are some Superhuman alternatives, and for writing tools on their own there's a list of Grammarly alternatives.
Grammarly's help centre also has a Superhuman Agents Privacy and Security Overview, worth reading before you connect work accounts. Plans and availability are still shifting, so treat everything here as as of Nov 2026 and check Grammarly's own help pages for the latest.
If you're sorting out which AI writing and productivity tools your team should pay for, that's the kind of AI enablement I help with. I run AI training and workshops for teams, and help businesses with AI enablement and workflow automation, so the busywork runs itself and people get time back. Most of that work is with SaaS marketing teams and small businesses. Here's how we can work together.
