Best AI Watermark Removers (2026): 10 Tools for Your Own Files

An AI watermark remover takes a visible mark, logo, date stamp or text off a photo or video by filling in the area underneath. The tools split three ways, as of Oct 2026: image-first removers, video removers, and general object erasers that handle marks among other clean-ups. Ten follow in no particular order, for files you own.

Old product shots with a date stamp, a logo from before a rebrand, a draft mark on your own video: these are the jobs a watermark remover is for. Use these tools only on your own files, or footage you have the rights to edit, never to strip marks from other people's work.

The ten tools below are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and each description comes from the tool's own website, as of Oct 2026. Nothing here claims more about what a tool can remove than its own page does.

Ten AI tools for removing marks from your own files

AVCLabs

Best for: Video owners who want an AI enhancer that upscales footage and also removes watermarks, logos, text and subtitles from videos.

Cleanup.pictures

Fotor

Best for: People already editing photos online who'd like a watermark remover for images, plus a video watermark eraser, inside the same editor.

Inpaint

Media.io

Best for: Creators cleaning visible watermarks, logos, text overlays and timestamps from MP4 or MOV videos they own or have permission to edit.

Pixelbin

Best for: Anyone wanting to upload an image, choose AI removal or a manual brush, and download the result in original or enhanced HD quality.

Vmake

Best for: Small businesses making social videos who want a video watermark remover alongside generators, enhancers and caption tools in one studio.

WatermarkRemover.io

Best for: Anyone needing to take a mark off an image on mobile or desktop, with separate video and PDF removers on the same site.

Image remover, video remover or object eraser?

The tool pages show the split clearly. WatermarkRemover.io's page is titled Remove Watermark from Images with AI, Pixelbin asks you to upload your watermarked photo, and Fotor lists remove watermark from images among its editor tools. Media.io's tool is for video and removes unwanted watermarks, logos, text and timestamps, while Vmake offers removal of AI watermarks, logos, text and other unwanted elements. Animating a clean image into motion is a different job, handled by image to video AI tools.

Then there are the general erasers. Inpaint is for date stamps, watermarks, text, power lines and signs, and Cleanup.pictures can remove any unwanted text, logo, date stamp or watermark. AVCLabs folds removal into a video enhancer, and Apowersoft's page also pitches adding marks to photos and videos, so it works in both directions. One rule covers every tool here: only clean files you own or have permission to edit.

Before you upload a file to any remover

  • Check you have the rights. Your own photos, your own footage, or files the owner has said you can edit. Someone else's image or video isn't yours to clean.
  • Pick the right type. A photo tool won't help with a video, and several video removers here are separate products from the same company's image tools.
  • Keep the original. Save an untouched copy before you remove anything, so you can go back if the result looks wrong.
  • Look at the edges. Removal rebuilds the area from the pixels around it, so check busy backgrounds closely before you publish.
  • Read the export settings. Some free versions limit the size of the file you can download.

Questions to ask a watermark removal tool

  1. Does it handle images, video, PDFs or all three?
  2. Can you brush over the mark yourself, or is removal automatic only?
  3. Can it process files in a batch?
  4. Does it run in a browser, or do you download a program?
  5. What file types and sizes can you upload and download?
  6. Where are uploaded files stored, and for how long? Check the tool's own privacy page.

My plain advice on removing a watermark

Match the tool to the file first. For a single photo, an image remover in your browser is the quickest route. For video, use a video remover rather than trying a photo tool frame by frame. And if the mark is one of several things spoiling a shot, a general object eraser does more for you. Keep the original, check the edges closely, and only clean files you own or have permission to edit.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI watermark remover?

It's a tool that detects a watermark, logo or text on an image or video, or lets you mark it, then fills the area so it blends with what's around it.

Can I remove a watermark from any image?

Only from files you own or have permission to edit. These tools are built for cleaning your own photos and footage, and I'm not giving legal advice here, so check before you touch a file that isn't yours.

Can AI remove watermarks from video?

Some tools are built for video. Several on this list say they remove watermarks, logos, text or timestamps from video files, often with a brush or a selected area.

Do watermark removers work on PDFs?

At least one tool on this list has a separate PDF watermark remover on its site. Most of the others focus on images or video.

Are there free AI watermark removers?

Several tools here let you start for free, and at least one page names a free version with a limited export size. Check each tool's own site for what the free version includes.

Will the result look perfect?

Not always. Removal rebuilds the area from the surrounding pixels, so busy backgrounds and large marks are harder. Check the result closely before you publish it.
