An AI agent consultant scopes and builds AI workflows that do repeat work for your business, like handling enquiries, qualifying and following up leads, pulling reports, drafting content and clearing admin. I'm Lilach Bullock, an AI implementation consultant with 23 years in marketing, and I build these agents in Make.com, Zapier and n8n for small businesses and teams, with a human check where it matters.
The word "agent" gets used for everything at the moment. In my work it means something simple: a workflow where AI makes a decision or writes something, not just moves data from one app to another. A form arrives, the agent reads it, decides what kind of enquiry it is, drafts a reply and routes it to the right person. That's an agent doing a job a person used to do by hand.
What I build
| Job | What the agent does | Where a person stays involved |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiry handling | Reads incoming enquiries, sorts them by type and drafts a first reply. | Someone approves replies before they go, until you trust them. |
| Lead qualification and follow-up | Checks new leads against your criteria and schedules follow-up so nobody's forgotten. | Your team decides which leads get a call. |
| Reporting | Pulls numbers from your tools into one regular summary. | You read it and decide what to act on. |
| Content drafts | Turns notes, briefs or recordings into first drafts. | A human edits and publishes. |
| Admin | Files, tags, updates records and chases the small jobs that pile up. | Spot checks until it's proven. |
I use Make.com, Zapier or n8n depending on what you already have and what the workflow needs. I don't push one platform; the right one is usually the one your team can live with.
Agents versus plain automation
Plain automation follows fixed rules: if this, then that. It's great for moving data and terrible at anything that needs judgement. An AI agent adds a step where AI reads, decides or writes. That's powerful, and it's also where things go wrong if nobody's checking. So every agent I build has a clear point where a person reviews the output, at least until you've seen enough to trust it.
If you mainly need plain workflow automation, my AI automation consultant page covers that side. This page is for when you want AI doing the thinking part of a repeat task.
Who this suits
- Small businesses and one-person businesses drowning in enquiries, follow-up and admin.
- SaaS marketing teams that want reporting and first drafts handled so people can focus on strategy.
- Teams that tried building an agent themselves and got stuck or don't trust what it does.
How a project runs
- A call to find the one task that costs you the most time each week.
- A short scope: what goes in, what the agent decides, what comes out, and where a human checks.
- I build it in the platform that fits, using your real data in a safe test.
- We run it alongside your current process until the output is reliable.
- I train your team to run it, adjust it and spot when something's off.
- Then we look at the next task.
I work remotely, and the setup is the same wherever you are. If you'd like to know more about that side, see remote AI implementation. I don't publish prices for builds, because scope varies so much from one workflow to the next.
Who I've built for
This year my AI work has included small businesses that wanted to automate manual work, a telecom company asking for AI enablement, and SaaS marketing teams looking to get AI doing more of their day-to-day. For some small businesses, the right setup is a part-time senior lead who owns all of this; that's what my fractional AI officer role is for.
I've spent 23 years in marketing, spoken at over 100 events including TEDxBolton, and worked with brands including IBM, Twitter, Dropbox, monday.com and Greenpeace.
What to look for when hiring an AI agent consultant
- They start with your most painful task, not with the platform they prefer.
- They show you where a human checks the output, and why.
- They test on your real data before anything touches customers.
- They hand over something your team can run, with training, not a black box.
- They'll tell you when a task doesn't need AI at all.
The best agents are boring: they do one job every day without fuss. I run AI training and workshops for teams, and help businesses with AI enablement and workflow automation, so the busywork runs itself and people get time back. Most of that work is with SaaS marketing teams and small businesses. Here's how we can work together.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Frequently asked questions
Who can build AI agents for my small business?
I can. I scope and build AI agent workflows in Make.com, Zapier and n8n for enquiry handling, lead follow-up, reporting, content drafts and admin, with a human check where it matters.
What's the difference between an AI agent and automation?
Automation follows fixed rules. An AI agent adds a step where AI reads, decides or writes something, which lets it handle tasks that need judgement. That step needs checking until you trust it.
Which platform is best for AI agents: Make.com, Zapier or n8n?
It depends on what you already use and what the workflow needs. I build in all three and pick the one your team can run and maintain.
What is an AI workflow automation consultant?
Someone who finds the repeat tasks in your business that AI can take on, builds the workflows to do them and trains your team to run them.
Is it safe to let an AI agent reply to customers?
Only with a review step at first. I set agents up to draft replies for a person to approve, and only reduce checks once the output has proved reliable.
Can you build AI agents remotely?
Yes. I build and test remotely, and train your team online or in person.
