The Stripe Dashboard is the interface where you run your Stripe account: payments, balances, customers, products, payouts, team access and settings all live there. You can use it in a browser or through the iOS and Android app, and what each person can do depends on the user role you give them.
Here's what catches people out. The mobile app only displays live mode data, so anything you're trying out in a sandbox won't appear there. Users with the Support specialist role can't log in to the app at all, and View only users can't create payments, refunds or payouts from it. As of October 2026, Payment Links and subscriptions can be created in the iOS app but not on Android.
What each part of the sidebar shows
| Section | What you'll find there, as of October 2026 |
|---|---|
| Home | Charts on business performance, plus alerts such as unresolved disputes or identity verifications |
| Balances | Your Stripe balance, top-ups, payouts and transaction history |
| Transactions | Every customer payment with its status, including collected fees and transfers, with filters and export |
| Customers | Customer profiles, with subscriptions, payments, payment methods, invoices and quotes one click away |
| Product catalog | The products and prices you sell |
| Shortcuts | Recently visited pages, which you can pin |
| Payments | Authorization rate insights, disputes and fraud tools through Radar, plus Payment Links and Terminal |
| Billing | Invoices, subscriptions, discounts and revenue reports |
| Reporting | Exports of historical transactions, payments and payouts, plus financial reports |
Anything not in the main list sits under More, including Workflows, Tax, Identity, Atlas, Issuing, Capital and Climate. Settings are split into three groups: Personal, Account and Product. Account settings hold your business details, account health, payouts, branding and team, while Product settings hold the controls for Billing, Radar, Payments, Tax and the rest.
Customising your Home page
- Click Add under Your overview.
- Select the widgets you want and unselect the ones you don't.
- Click Apply to save. Use Edit later to remove widgets again.
One thing worth knowing before you trust those charts: the Dashboard shows data in your default currency. If you're paid in several currencies, the Home charts convert them using sample exchange rates, so the figures are estimates and won't exactly match what settles in your account.
Finding anything with Dashboard search
The search bar is the fastest way around the Dashboard, and you don't need special syntax for most searches. Type the last four digits of a card or account number, a payment method type such as iDEAL, the business name of a connected account, or an email receipt number. Dates work in plain formats too, including last week. Press Enter or click View all results to see every match grouped by type, then View all on a group for sortable columns.
When you want tighter results, put a filter in front of your term. A few that small teams use most:
- email: matches a full or partial email address
- status: finds objects with a given status, such as canceled
- last4: matches the last four digits of a card or account
- country: takes a two-letter ISO code, such as GB
- receipt: matches the receipt number from a payment or refund email
- name: matches a cardholder or customer name. Wrap names with a space in quotation marks
Two smaller tricks: the greater than operator works on amounts and dates to search a range, and because your search terms are saved in the URL, you can bookmark a search or send it to a teammate like any other link. Pressing the question mark key anywhere in the Dashboard brings up the keyboard shortcuts.
Who on your team can see what
Under Team and security in account settings, you invite people and give each one a level of access. Stripe's own example is letting your customer service team in to handle refunds and disputes without touching anything else. The role you choose follows them into the mobile app, which is where the Support specialist and View only limits above kick in.
If you run several Stripe accounts for regulatory or financial reasons, Stripe Organizations pulls reporting, operations and team management together. You can see payments and customers across accounts, but you can only create, export or analyse customers from the Customers page of each individual account.
The mobile app compared with the web
| Feature | iOS | Android |
|---|---|---|
| Tap to Pay | Yes | Yes |
| Manual card entry | Yes | Yes |
| Invoices, basic creation only | Yes | Yes |
| Payment Links, including QR codes | Yes | No |
| Create or cancel subscriptions | Yes | No |
| Widgets | 17 lock screen metric widgets | 4 home screen metric widgets |
The app runs in 14 languages and defaults to your phone's language. It covers the day-to-day jobs well: refunds, sending receipts, creating customers, checking balances and starting payouts. Push notifications cover a daily summary, new payments, new customers, disputed payments and deposited transfers, once you've allowed notifications from Stripe in your phone's settings.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Getting the app working
- Download the Stripe Dashboard app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Log in to your existing account. On iOS you can also create a new Stripe account from inside the app.
- Enable two-factor authentication and verify your phone number in the Dashboard.
- If you want payouts from your phone, link a debit card or external account first. As of October 2026 that's only possible in the web Dashboard.
Your first standard payout takes around 7 days to settle, and once Stripe confirms you're eligible for instant payouts, those typically land within 30 minutes. For the full picture on timing, here's my guide to Stripe payouts. If you're still building and want to try things without real customers, Sandboxes do that job, and I've covered test mode and sandboxes separately.
My take on the Stripe Dashboard
I'd do the setup work in the web Dashboard: bank accounts, team roles, branding, reports and anything in settings. I'd keep the app for what it's good at, which is checking today's payments, issuing a quick refund and taking Tap to Pay when you're away from your desk. Skip the app for subscription work if your team's on Android, and don't expect it to show anything from a sandbox. Above all, set roles before you invite people, because the role decides what they can touch on both web and mobile.
Checking the same Dashboard numbers by hand every week is exactly the kind of job that's worth automating. I run AI training and workshops for teams, and help businesses with AI enablement and workflow automation, so the busywork runs itself and people get time back. Most of that work is with SaaS marketing teams and small businesses. Here's how we can work together.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the Stripe Dashboard on my phone?
Yes. Stripe has an app for iOS and Android in 14 languages. It only displays live mode data, and some features, such as creating Payment Links and subscriptions, are iOS only.
Why can't a team member log in to the Stripe app?
Users with the Support specialist role can't log in to the app, and neither can inactive Stripe accounts. View only users can log in but can't create payments, refunds or payouts.
Why don't my Home charts match what settled?
If you take payments in several currencies, the Home charts convert them to your default currency using sample exchange rates, so they're estimates rather than settled amounts.
Can I share a search with my team?
Yes. Your search terms are included in the URL, so you can bookmark a search or share the link like any other web page.
Which browsers does the Stripe Dashboard support?
The last 20 major versions of Chrome, Firefox and Edge, and the last 4 major versions of Safari.
