An auto refresh Chrome extension reloads a tab for you on a timer, and many also watch a page for changes. The names are almost identical, so tell them apart by who each one is offered by, the user count and the ratings count. Ten follow in no particular order, with the numbers from each store listing.
Auto refresh tools are handy when you're waiting for something to change: a booking slot, a stock level, a dashboard, a support queue or a page you're editing. You set an interval and the extension reloads the tab, and several also look for text or changes on the page.
The tricky part with this category is the names. Two listings are called Auto Refresh Plus and three are called Auto Refresh Page, so each name here carries the publisher's domain, exactly as the Chrome Web Store shows it under Offered by, as of Oct 2026. They're listed alphabetically, in no particular order, with users, average rating, ratings count and last updated date from each listing. How the ten refresh listings were chosen
From what the Chrome Web Store shows on each listing: users, the average rating, the ratings count, who it's offered by and the last updated date. Nothing was installed or scored, and the publisher domain stays in the name so you can find the exact listing.
Same name, different publisher
The two Auto Refresh Plus listings aren't the same extension. Auto Refresh Plus by autorefresh.io shows 1,000,000 users and a 4.7 average on 23.3K ratings, while Auto Refresh Plus by autorefreshplus.in shows 100,000 users and 4.8 on 1.7K ratings, as of Oct 2026.
Easy Auto Refresh also shows 1,000,000 users, but a 3.1 average. So when you search the store, read the Offered by line before you install, or you could end up with a different extension from the one a friend or a tutorial meant.
Matching an auto refresh tool to the task
- You just want a tab to reload every so often: pick a simple timer extension.
- You're waiting for a page to change: pick one whose listing mentions page monitoring.
- You need to spot a word on the page: pick one that searches for text after each reload.
- You want a button clicked when text appears: pick the refresh and clicker type, and check the site's rules first.
- You keep lots of tabs open: pick one whose listing says it reloads all tabs.
Before you install an auto refresh extension
- Search the exact name with the publisher, since several share a title.
- Check the last updated date. On this list it runs from October 7, 2023 to September 29, 2026, as of Oct 2026.
- Set the longest interval that still does the job, so you're not reloading a site every few seconds for no reason.
- Read a site's terms before you set it to refresh and click on its own, especially on booking or ticket pages.

My plain advice on auto refresh extensions
Decide whether you need a plain timer or a page monitor, then find the listing by its publisher, not just its name. A big user count with a low average is a reason to read the reviews, and a small count with a high average tells you less than it looks. Keep the interval sensible and you'll get the update you're waiting for without hammering the site.
And switch it off when you're done. A tab that's still reloading in the background long after you've got what you needed does nobody any good.

Frequently asked questions
What does an auto refresh Chrome extension do?
It reloads a tab for you after a set number of seconds or minutes. Many listings also mention page monitoring, so you're told when something on the page changes.
Why are there so many auto refresh extensions with the same name?
Different developers have used near-identical titles. The Offered by line on each Chrome Web Store listing is what tells them apart.
Can an auto refresh extension reload all my tabs?
Some listings say they reload all tabs. Check the description before you install.
Is it okay to auto refresh a booking or ticket page?
Read the site's terms first. Some sites don't allow automated reloading or clicking, and a very short interval puts extra load on them.
