Homebase Pricing: Basic, Essentials, Plus and All-in-One Per Location, Plus Payroll

As of October 2026, Homebase charges per location, not per employee. Basic is free for one location with up to 10 employees; Essentials is $30, Plus is $70 and All-in-One is $120 per location per month, each with unlimited employees. Payroll is an add-on at a $49 monthly base fee plus $6 per employee paid.

Homebase is a scheduling, time clock and team communication app aimed at small hourly teams such as restaurants, shops and salons. Its pricing model is unusual: you pay for each business address rather than each person, which can make it much cheaper than per-user tools for a busy single site.

PlanPrice per location per monthEmployeesFree plan?
Basic$0Up to 10, one location onlyYes
Essentials$30UnlimitedNo
Plus$70UnlimitedNo
All-in-One$120UnlimitedNo

These are the figures Homebase's pricing page showed when we checked. The page has a switch between annual and monthly billing, so confirm the price for the billing option you pick at sign-up.

What each plan includes

Basic (free)

Basic scheduling, basic time tracking and point-of-sale integration, with payroll available as an add-on. It's limited to one location and up to 10 employees, and no credit card is needed.

Essentials

Everything in Basic, plus advanced scheduling, advanced time tracking and team communication.

Plus

Everything in Essentials, plus an AI-powered scheduling assistant, PTO and time-off controls, and departments and permissions. Homebase recommends Plus for teams of more than 10 employees or teams expecting to grow significantly.

All-in-One

Everything in Plus, plus employee onboarding, labor cost management, and HR and compliance tools.

Payroll and other add-ons

Add-onPrice on Homebase's page
Payroll$49 a month base fee plus $6 a month per employee paid (the page also lists $29 a month for teams up to 5)
Tip Manager$25 a month per location
Background checks$30 each
Task Manager$13 a month per location
Job post boostsStarting at $50 a post
Hiring AssistantStarting at $99 a month

In October 2026 the page also showed an offer on payroll: the first 6 months free, and with Plus, payroll and the Plus plan free for 6 months, then the standard payroll fees. Homebase says terms apply, so check the current offer and its conditions when you sign up rather than relying on it in a budget.

The location rule: the detail that sets your bill

Here's the sourced insight that decides what most businesses pay. Homebase defines a location as a physical address where you carry out your business, and multiple sites in the same city still count as separate locations if they have separate addresses. Its own example: a restaurant serving from two addresses has two locations.

That cuts both ways. A single shop with 40 staff pays one location fee on any plan, which is far cheaper than paying per head. A business with five small kiosks pays five times. If you have several sites, multiply the plan price by your number of addresses before comparing Homebase with per-user tools.

What's free on every plan

Homebase's page lists features it says many competitors charge for but it doesn't, including time clocks, scheduling beyond 10 days, the employee mobile app, and job posts with applicant tracking.

Trial, upgrades and downgrades

  • There's a free 14-day trial of All-in-One, with no credit card required.
  • If you haven't chosen a plan at the end of the trial, you're switched to the free Basic plan.
  • If you have more than 10 employees or more than one location, you'll be asked to choose Essentials, Plus or All-in-One.
  • You can change plan at any time, and the new plan starts at the beginning of the next billing cycle.

Is Homebase worth it?

For one location with a large hourly team, Homebase is hard to beat on price, because the fee doesn't rise as you hire. Basic is a usable free option for very small single-site teams. Plus is the plan most growing teams will land on, because PTO controls and permissions matter once you pass 10 people. Multi-site businesses should do the location maths first.

If you're unsure, the 14-day All-in-One trial lets you try every feature first, and because changes start at the next billing cycle, moving down a plan later is straightforward.

How to estimate your Homebase cost

  1. Count your locations: one per physical business address.
  2. Pick the plan you need and multiply by the number of locations.
  3. If you'll run payroll, add the base fee and the per-employee fee for everyone you pay.
  4. Add any per-location add-ons, such as Tip Manager or Task Manager.
  5. Check whether any current payroll offer applies, and when standard pricing starts.

The verdict

Homebase's per-location pricing is excellent value for single-site businesses with lots of hourly staff, and the free Basic plan is a real option for tiny teams. The cost climbs with every extra address and with payroll's per-employee fee, so budget on the standard prices, not the introductory offer, and count locations before you compare.
