1Password Pricing: Individual, Families, Teams and Business

As of October 2026, 1Password Individual costs $2.99 a month and Families $4.49 a month, billed yearly, on a first year deal for new customers. The regular prices are $3.99 and $5.99 a month, and 1Password Business is $8.99 per user a month billed annually.

1Password splits its pricing into personal plans and business plans, and the personal prices you see right now include a promotion. Below are both the promotional and regular figures from 1Password's own pages, so you know what you'll pay in year two as well as year one.

1Password personal plans

PlanFirst year priceRegular priceUsers
Individual$2.99 a month, billed yearly$3.99 a month1 user
Families$4.49 a month, billed yearly$5.99 a monthUp to 5 family members

1Password's small print explains the promotion: it's for new customers subscribing directly through 1Password.com, for the first year with annual billing. It isn't available through Google Play, the Apple App Store or other third party app stores. Both plans come with a 14 day free trial, no credit card required, and 1GB of storage per user.

What Individual and Families include

  • Password generation, plus autosave and autofill of logins
  • Secure sharing of items with anyone
  • Use on all of your devices
  • Alerts for weak or compromised credentials
  • 1Password developer tools
  • Families only: invite up to 5 family members, share unlimited vaults and manage access with simple admin controls

Who the free trial suits

The 14 day trial is long enough to import your saved browser passwords, install the apps on your phone and laptop, and see whether autofill works on the sites you use most. If you'll test it, set it up fully on day one rather than dipping in, so you're judging the real experience.

The pricing page also shows the Teams Starter Pack as $2.49 per user a month billed yearly, with a 10 user minimum and a maximum of 20. Business includes everything in the Teams Starter Pack and can be tried free for 14 days.

Personal or business plan?

If you're a sole trader, it's tempting to use Individual for work logins. It'll work, but you don't get the admin controls and team sharing the business plans are built around, and those matter the moment you take on a VA or a first hire. Here's how I'd think about it:

  • Just you, personal and work logins mixed: Individual is fine to start.
  • You plus a partner or kids at home: Families.
  • You plus 10 to 20 colleagues or contractors: Teams Starter Pack.
  • A growing business that wants to pay per person from one seat: Business.

It's easier to start on the right plan than to move vaults around later, so pick the one that fits where your business will be in a year.

The renewal jump to plan for

The promotional price only covers the first year. On Individual, the bill moves from $2.99 to $3.99 a month at renewal, and on Families from $4.49 to $5.99. Neither is expensive, but if you're comparing password managers on price, compare the regular rates, because that's what you'll pay from year two.

If you're weighing it against NordPass, our NordPass comparison sets the two side by side.

How to choose a 1Password plan

  1. If it's just you, start the 14 day trial of Individual.
  2. If you share logins with a partner or children, Families covers up to 5 people for not much more.
  3. Buy directly from 1Password.com rather than an app store if you want the first year promotion.
  4. For a small team of 10 to 20 people, price the Teams Starter Pack.
  5. For a business that needs per user billing from one seat upwards, choose Business at $8.99 per user.

My verdict

1Password's plans are built around rolling out to a family or a small team, with a plan for each size. For a household, Families at $5.99 a month after year one is good value for up to five people. For a small business, the Teams Starter Pack is the sweet spot until you pass 20 people. Just buy direct to get the first year deal, and budget for the regular price from year two.
