Adobe Express Free Trial: 30 Days of Premium and What Happens Next

Adobe Express offers a 30-day free trial of Express Premium. As of October 2026, Adobe's pricing page shows Premium at US$9.99 a month after the trial, billed monthly with no annual commitment. Billing starts when the trial ends, and if you cancel before then you won't be charged. There's also a 7-day free trial of Adobe Firefly Pro, which includes Express Premium.

Adobe Express already has a free plan that needs no credit card, so the trial is really about one question: do Premium's extra templates, fonts, brand kits and AI credits earn their place in your week? Thirty days is long enough to find out if you use it on real work.

Adobe Express plans and trials at a glance

These are the individual plans on Adobe's Express pricing page, in US dollars, as of October 2026:

PlanPriceFree trialWho Adobe says it's for
Adobe Express FreeFree; no credit card requiredNot neededBasic content creation with limited AI credits and assets
Adobe Express PremiumUS$9.99/mo, billed monthly30 daysPremium templates and assets, more AI credits, time-saving features
Adobe Firefly ProUS$19.99/mo, billed monthly7 daysExpress Premium plus 4,000 credits for AI video and audio and Photoshop on web and mobile

Adobe also lists Express free for qualified K-12 educators, and separate team pricing with an Admin Console for license management.

What Premium adds over the free plan

Adobe's comparison table is long, but these are the differences you'll notice in the first week:

FeatureFreePremium
Templates268,000+519,000+
Design assets153,000+319,000+
Adobe Fonts4,000+ fonts30,000+ fonts
Generative creditsLimited250 a month per user
Video lengthUp to 30 minUp to 2 hours
Version history10 days30 days
Brand kitsNoYes
One-click resizeNoYes

For a small business, the two that matter most are usually brand kits, which keep your colours, fonts and logos in one place, and one-click resize, which turns one design into the sizes each social channel wants.

How to start the Adobe Express free trial

  1. Go to Adobe Express's pricing page and find the Premium column.
  2. Click Start 30-day free trial.
  3. Sign in with an Adobe account or create one.
  4. Add a payment method. Adobe's footnote says billing begins when the free trial ends.
  5. Put the end date in your calendar with a reminder three days before.

If you want Photoshop on web and mobile and AI video tools too, the Firefly Pro column has its own Start 7-day free trial button. It's a much shorter window, so only pick it if you'll use those extras this week.

How to cancel before the trial ends

Adobe's footnote is clear: cancel before the free trial ends and you won't be charged, and the subscription renews automatically until you cancel. Adobe's help pages describe the same cancel flow across its plans:

  1. Sign in to your Adobe account and open Plans.
  2. Select Manage plan next to Adobe Express Premium.
  3. Select Cancel your plan and choose a reason.
  4. Select Continue, then confirm the cancellation. You'll get an email confirmation.

One Adobe detail worth knowing: its help centre says that if the card on your account has expired or the account is suspended, you can't cancel until you update the payment details. Check your card is current before the last day, not on it.

Who should skip the trial

Not everyone needs Premium. If you make a couple of social posts a week from Adobe's free templates and you don't mind the free fonts, the free plan may cover you, and Adobe says it needs no credit card at all. The trial earns its place when one of these is true:

  • You post on several channels and resize the same design again and again.
  • You need your exact brand fonts and colours locked in a brand kit.
  • You make videos longer than 30 minutes, which is the free plan's limit.
  • You want to roll back to a version older than 10 days.

If none of those apply, start a free account first. You can always take the 30-day trial later, when you've got a launch or a busy month coming up and you'll use every day of it.

How to get the most from 30 days

  1. Build your brand kit first: logo, colours and fonts.
  2. Recreate your three most common posts or flyers from Premium templates.
  3. Use one-click resize to turn each into every size you post.
  4. Spend some generative credits on real tasks, like removing backgrounds or creating a short promo video.
  5. In week four, ask whether you'd miss it. If not, cancel and keep using the free plan.

Not sure the free plan is enough? I've covered what Adobe Express does for free in detail, and if you're using the AI side, these Adobe Firefly prompts are a good place to start.

My verdict

The Adobe Express free trial is one of the more generous ones around: a full 30 days of Premium, billed at US$9.99 a month afterwards as of October 2026 if you keep it. Start it when you have real content to make, set up a brand kit on day one, and cancel through Plans before the end date if the free plan does the job. Only take the 7-day Firefly Pro trial if you'll use Photoshop and AI video straight away.
