Confluence Pricing: Free, Standard, Premium and Enterprise

As of October 2026, Confluence is free for up to 10 users. Atlassian's pricing calculator shows Standard at $5.78 per user a month and Premium at $11.16 per user a month on monthly billing, and Enterprise is only available on annual subscriptions, priced by Atlassian's sales team.

Confluence is Atlassian's team wiki, where companies keep processes, meeting notes, project plans and onboarding guides. Its free plan is generous for a small business, and the paid plans are priced per user, so the bill grows with your team rather than your content.

Premium$11.16 per user a monthUp to 250,000 per siteUnlimited
EnterpriseAnnual only, contact salesUp to 250,000 per siteUnlimited

These are the per-user prices Atlassian's calculator shows on monthly billing. Atlassian says to enter your number of users and choose annual or monthly billing in the calculator at the top of its page to see the price of your own subscription.

How Atlassian bills monthly and annual plans

This is the detail that changes your bill. Atlassian says that for monthly subscriptions, it charges each month for the exact number of Confluence users you have. For annual subscriptions, it charges for the user tier that most closely matches your user count, and depending on how many users you buy, annual can be the better value.

Monthly suits a team that's still changing size, because you only pay for the people you have. Annual suits a settled team that wants to plan the year's software spend. Atlassian also publishes detailed cloud pricing tables with price ranges for Standard and Premium on its purchasing and licensing site, if you want to see the annual tiers before you talk to anyone.

Payment methods differ too. Monthly subscriptions can be paid by MasterCard, Visa or American Express, or PayPal. Annual subscriptions can be paid by credit card, bank transfer or check.

Premium also adds a guaranteed uptime service level agreement, and Enterprise raises it again, alongside advanced analytics, scale and security features.

The free plan and the 10-user line

Confluence Free lets up to 10 users work with 2 GB of storage and community support. For a small business writing down its processes for the first time, that's often all you need.

The line is strict, though. Atlassian says that if you're on Free and go over the user limit, it automatically moves you to a 7-day free trial of Standard. Plan for this before you invite your eleventh person, because after the trial you'll need to pay or remove users.

What a user means for billing

Atlassian defines a user as someone who can log in to one of your Confluence sites and who exists in User Management, and it says you can add and remove users as your team changes. So a former freelancer who still has a login counts towards your bill, even if they never open a page. Tidy your user list before each billing date, especially on monthly billing, where you're charged for the exact number of users.

Confluence Standard and above also support very large teams, up to 250,000 users per site, so you won't outgrow the plan structure as a growing business.

Free trials

If you want to test the paid features first, Atlassian offers a 7-day free trial of Standard or Premium. It says you can cancel at any time and no payment information is required.

Confluence in an Atlassian collection

Atlassian also sells Confluence as part of a collection with Jira, Loom and Rovo, bringing together knowledge, projects, video and AI-powered insights. If your team already uses Jira, it's worth comparing the collection with buying each product on its own.

How to choose a Confluence plan

  1. Count everyone who'll log in, not just the people who write pages.
  2. Ten or fewer users and light storage: Free.
  3. More users, more storage or business-hours support: Standard.
  4. Unlimited storage, more automation and 24/7 support: Premium.
  5. Pick monthly billing while your team is growing, then compare annual tiers.

My verdict

For a small business, Confluence Free is one of the best free wikis available, and many teams of up to 10 never need more. When you grow past that, Standard at $5.78 per user a month on monthly billing is low for what you get. Only pay for Premium if you need unlimited storage, heavier automation or round-the-clock support. Watch the 10-user line, because the eleventh person moves you onto a trial whether you planned it or not.
