Content marketing blogs that accept guest posts include some of the strongest sites on my whole list. On my list, re-checked live in September 2026, 33 sites are tagged content marketing: 31 were live and 19 had a domain authority of 40 or more. Examples include wordstream.com, getresponse.com and socialmediaexaminer.com. Check each site's current guidelines before you pitch.
Content marketers are the people editors are most wary of, because they know every trick. A content marketing blog gets pitches from agencies, freelancers and tool companies every day, and most of them are written to win a link rather than teach anything.
That's why the bar is high. The best content marketing sites want posts that show a process working, with the results, the mistakes and what you'd do differently.
This page pulls the content marketing sites out of my free list of websites that accept guest posts, which I re-checked site by site in September 2026.
How many content marketing blogs on my list still accept guest posts?
| Measure | Count |
|---|---|
| Content marketing sites on my list | 33 |
| Live when checked | 31 |
| Live with DA 40 or more | 19 |
| Dead or parked | 2 |
2 of the 33 content marketing sites were dead or parked, so 31 are worth a look. More than half of the live sites (19 of 31) had a domain authority of 40 or more. It's a strong category: several of the live sites are big software and media brands.
Which content marketing blogs accept guest posts?
Twelve live content marketing sites from my list, with their domain authority when I checked:
- wordstream.com: DA 83
- getresponse.com: DA 82
- socialmediaexaminer.com: DA 78
- coschedule.com: DA 71
- grasshopper.com: DA 70
- sumo.com: DA 68
- digitalinformationworld.com: DA 64
- justcreative.com: DA 58
- econtentmag.com: DA 57
- craftyourcontent.com: DA 42
- growthrocks.com: DA 40
- quoracreative.com: DA 39
The category also holds a university policy page, a form builder's help area and a tool's help pages, which I've left out of the examples. Guidelines change, so read each site's current write for us page before you pitch.
Strategy, writing or distribution?
Content marketing sites tend to specialise:
- Strategy sites want posts on planning, audiences, content audits and measuring what works.
- Writing and creative sites want posts on headlines, storytelling, editing and design.
- Distribution sites want posts on email, social, SEO and repurposing content.
- Software company blogs want practical guides their users can follow straight away.
Content tools and agencies usually fit best on strategy and distribution sites. Writers and designers do better on the creative sites, where a strong sample of your own work counts for more than a client list.
What do content marketing editors want?
Originality. Editors have read every post about evergreen content and content calendars. They want something they haven't seen: your own test, a process from inside a real team, or a strong opinion you can back up.
They also want writing that practises what it preaches. A content marketing pitch with a weak headline and a slow opening tells the editor exactly how the post will read.
Free guest post or sponsored post on a content marketing blog?
The big software and media sites mostly take free posts from people they already know or can see are experts. Smaller content blogs are more open to newcomers. Sponsored posts are the faster route when you need a placement on a schedule.
How do you check a content marketing blog before you pitch?
- Search site:domain.com. If very few pages come up, move on.
- Read the three newest posts. Is the site still publishing, and who writes for it?
- Check what they've published lately. If the last three posts were all written by staff, guest posts may be on hold.
- Find a name. A real editor you can email beats a form that never replies.
- Ask if posts are permanent. Some sites prune old content in clean-ups.
My free domain authority checker gives you a quick read on a site's strength, and these guest post pitch examples show what editors say yes to. Content marketing sits close to SEO and social media, so my SEO blogs that accept guest posts and marketing blogs that accept guest posts pages are good next stops.
How should you pitch a content marketing blog?
Lead with a result and the process behind it. "How we turned one webinar into a month of content for a B2B client" is a pitch. "Why content marketing matters" isn't.
Send a sample. A link to a post you're proud of, on your own site or someone else's, does more than a paragraph about your experience.
Keep the link earned. One link to a template, a study or a detailed guide that supports the post will get approved. A link wedged into a sentence that doesn't need it won't.
My advice
This is the niche where a weak pitch hurts most, because the editors are content marketers themselves. Send fewer pitches, make each one specific, and lead with something you've done rather than something you know.
Can you place a content marketing post on my blog?
Yes. Content marketing is a core topic on my blog: strategy, writing, repurposing, distribution and the tools teams use. lilachbullock.com is a marketing blog that's been publishing since the dial-up days, with thousands of indexed articles, and my readers are business owners, marketers and entrepreneurs, mostly in the USA and the UK. Practical posts with a real example behind them are the best fit. Guidelines are on my content marketing write for us page.
How placing a post on my blog works
- Email [email protected], or start on my write for me page, with your target URL, topic and niche.
- I reply with whether it fits and which format I'd pick: a new sponsored post or a link insertion into an existing, indexed article.
- You send the article, or I choose the right existing article for your link.
- I edit, publish and send you the live URL.
Accepted posts usually go live within 24 to 48 hours of everything being agreed. Placements are permanent, and if you're an agency, I never contact your client.
If you're weighing up where to place a post, how buying a guest post on my blog works explains what you get and what I turn down.
Placing a content marketing post? Email [email protected] with your target URL, topic and niche, or start on my write for me page. Agencies and repeat buyers are welcome.
