SEO blogs that accept guest posts are a small, demanding group. My list, re-checked live in September 2026, has 38 sites tagged SEO: 35 were live and 13 had a domain authority of 40 or more. Examples include searchenginejournal.com, seroundtable.com and thesempost.com. The pool is small, so pitch quality matters more than volume.

There's an irony in pitching SEO blogs for links: the editors know every link building trick, because they write about them. A pitch that looks like it exists only to get a backlink is spotted in seconds. If you want a byline on an SEO site, you need something the editor's readers can use, and you need to show you've done the work yourself.

This page pulls the SEO sites out of my free list of websites that accept guest posts, which I re-checked site by site in September 2026.

How many SEO blogs on my list still accept guest posts?

Dead or parked3

Only three SEO sites were dead or parked, one of the best survival rates on my list. The catch is authority: only 13 of the 35 live sites had a domain authority of 40 or more. Many SEO blogs belong to small agencies and freelancers, and their authority reflects that.

Which SEO blogs accept guest posts?

Ten live SEO sites from my list, with their domain authority when I checked:

  • searchenginejournal.com: DA 83
  • seroundtable.com: DA 76
  • thesempost.com: DA 62
  • mainstreethost.com: DA 51
  • alphonsolabs.com: DA 50
  • agencyanalytics.com: DA 45
  • pageonepower.com: DA 44
  • rankwatch.com: DA 44
  • seonick.net: DA 43
  • blog.linkody.com: DA 41

The biggest names in the list have strict contributor programmes and long waiting lists. Several of the smaller ones are software companies' blogs, which means they want posts that help their users and won't promote a rival tool. Guidelines change, so read each site's current write for us page before you pitch.

Technical SEO, content SEO or local SEO?

SEO readers are not one crowd. Match your pitch to the part of SEO the site covers:

  • Technical SEO means crawling, indexing, site speed and structured data. Editors want detail and evidence.
  • Content and on-page SEO means keywords, search intent, titles and internal links. Editors want worked examples.
  • Link building and digital PR are covered by fewer sites, and those editors are the hardest to impress.
  • Local SEO means map listings, reviews and local pages. Editors want advice small businesses can follow.

A pitch that shows you know which corner of SEO you're writing about gets a faster reply than a general one.

What do SEO editors want?

Proof. Screenshots from your own reports, a before and after from a real site, a process you've followed and can describe step by step. SEO advice changes quickly, so editors also want posts that reflect how search works now, including AI answers and how they cite sources, rather than tips that were true five years ago.

They don't want keyword-stuffed articles or posts that exist to carry a link. If your link points to a useful tool or a detailed guide that supports the article, say so in the pitch. If it doesn't, rethink the link.

Free guest post or sponsored post on an SEO blog?

Free contributions to the big SEO publications are competitive and slow, and smaller SEO blogs often have limited time to edit outside posts. Sponsored posts are faster and more predictable, which suits agencies placing posts against a deadline. Either way, check that the site is live and relevant first.

How do you check an SEO blog before you pitch?

  • Search site:domain.com. If very few pages come up, move on.
  • Read the three newest posts. Is the site still publishing, and who writes for it?
  • Check who owns it. Software company blogs rarely accept posts that mention a competing tool.
  • Find a name. A real editor you can email beats a form that never replies.
  • Ask if posts are permanent. Some sites prune old content in clean-ups.

SEO sites need the same checks as any other. See how to check backlink quality and my guide to high DA guest posting sites. Because the SEO pool is small, my web design blogs that accept guest posts and technology blogs that accept guest posts pages are useful places to widen your search.

How should you pitch an SEO blog?

Lead with the finding, not the topic. "What happened when we rewrote every title tag on a local plumber's site" is a pitch. "An article about title tags" is not. Give the editor the headline, one sentence on what the reader will learn, and a note on the evidence you can show.

Keep your own link modest. One relevant link in context will be accepted far more often than three in the introduction, and a link to a free resource is easier for an editor to say yes to than a link to a sales page.

Can you place an SEO post on my blog?

Yes. SEO sits comfortably inside marketing, and it's one of the topics my readers ask about most. lilachbullock.com is a marketing blog that's been publishing since the dial-up days, with thousands of indexed articles, and my readers are business owners, marketers and entrepreneurs, mostly in the USA and the UK. Practical SEO advice for business owners fits best. Guidelines are on my SEO page.

How placing a post on my blog works

  1. Email lilach@lilachbullock.com, or start on my write for me page, with your target URL, topic and niche.
  2. I reply with whether it fits and which format I'd pick: a new sponsored post or a link insertion into an existing, indexed article.
  3. You send the article, or I choose the right existing article for your link.
  4. I edit, publish and send you the live URL.

Accepted posts usually go live within 24 to 48 hours of everything being agreed. Placements are permanent. I invoice by PayPal, and if you're an agency, I never contact your client.

If you're weighing up where to place a post, how buying a guest post on my blog works explains what you get and what I turn down.

Placing an SEO post? Email lilach@lilachbullock.com with your target URL, topic and niche, or start on my write for me page. Agencies and repeat buyers are welcome.
