Is FWRD Legit? Who Owns It, Returns and Fake Sites (2026)

Yes, FWRD is a real retailer: it's one of two retail segments of Revolve Group, a US company listed on the NYSE, and it sells designer and luxury fashion. The catch is in the returns small print. Items must come back unworn with tags, final sale pieces can't be returned, and international duties are non-refundable.

Designer prices make people nervous, and rightly so, because a polished website is easy to copy. When someone asks me whether FWRD is legit, I look at who stands behind the name and what the company promises in writing. Here's what FWRD's own pages and its parent company's public filings say, so you can judge it for yourself.

Who owns FWRD

It isn't a stand-alone start-up. According to the annual report that Revolve Group filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the company sells through two retail segments, REVOLVE and FWRD, which offer complementary assortments. Revolve Group's Class A stock trades on the NYSE under the ticker RVLV, and its headquarters is 12889 Moore Street, Cerritos, California 90703.

That matters because a listed company has to publish audited reports and answer to regulators. The same filing says the co-chief executive officers founded REVOLVE in 2003. So when you buy from FWRD you're dealing with a named US business with a public paper trail, not an anonymous shop that appeared last week.

What FWRD sells and how it describes itself

The filing describes FWRD as offering a curated assortment of iconic designer and emerging luxury brands, with a focus on luxury statement pieces such as handbags and shoes. FWRD's own About Us page says it's translating the traditional brick-and-mortar boutique into a singular online shopping experience.

In plain terms, think of it as an online boutique with a luxury edge, run by the same company as the more trend-driven REVOLVE site. I couldn't find an authenticity statement on FWRD's About page, so I won't put words in its mouth. If proof of authenticity matters to you for a big purchase, ask customer service in writing before you order and keep the reply.

How FWRD returns work

Returns are where a retailer shows its hand, so read this part twice. FWRD's returns page says items must be unworn, in original condition, with original tags attached. It gives 30 days for a full refund or exchange.

  • Domestic returns include a free prepaid return label.
  • Shoe boxes must be returned undamaged, and FWRD advises trying shoes on over carpet only.
  • For swimwear and lingerie, FWRD says to try items on over underwear and leave the protective slip on.
  • Damaged or defective items should be reported to customer service within 60 days of purchase.

FWRD also says some items are marked FINAL SALE and aren't eligible for refund, exchange or store credit. Check for that label on the product page before you pay, because once you've bought a final sale piece the decision is yours for good.

Final sale, tags and the small print that catches people

Most disputes with fashion retailers come from the same few things, and FWRD's policy shows them clearly. A tag you've cut off, a pair of heels with scuffed soles or a dress with makeup on the neckline can all stop a return. FWRD's page specifically warns shoppers about makeup transfer on tops and dresses.

My practical advice is to try things on at home over a clean surface, keep every tag and box, and take photos of the item as it arrives. That's not a criticism of FWRD, it's just how luxury returns work almost everywhere.

Shipping, duties and ordering from outside the US

FWRD's shipping page says UPS Ground delivery is free in the US. For international orders it says packages may incur duties and taxes, which are set by your local customs authorities, prepaid at checkout and non-refundable. FWRD adds that all orders are charged in US dollars.

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

So if you're ordering from the UK, Canada or elsewhere, treat the checkout total as the real price and factor in that duties can't be claimed back if you return the item. Your own customs website will tell you what applies to your country.

Fake FWRD sites and social ads

Because FWRD sells high-value items, copycats love its name. Lookalike shops advertise handbags and shoes at huge discounts, take your card details and either send a fake or nothing at all. Real luxury stock rarely sells at a fraction of the usual price, so an unbelievable discount is your first warning.

  • Type the web address yourself rather than tapping an ad or a link in a message.
  • Check the exact spelling of the domain before you enter any card details.
  • Be suspicious of a site that only takes bank transfer, crypto or gift cards.
  • Be wary of a brand-new social account promising a clearance sale with no company details.
  • Never share verification codes sent to your phone with anyone claiming to be FWRD support.

Reviews can help, but they can be faked too. My guides on spotting a fake product review and the review sites shoppers rely on will help you weigh what you read. My verdict on FWRD

It's a legit retailer owned by a listed US company, and its policies are written down in plain view. It isn't a place where you can wear something once and send it back, and final sale items are final. I'd read the returns page before ordering, pay only inside the official checkout and keep your tags on until you're sure. That's what I'd tell a friend.
