Seeing Saved Items on Facebook Marketplace (Phone and Computer)

To see saved items on Facebook Marketplace on a computer, click Facebook Marketplace, then Buying, then Saved. On iPhone or Android, tap Menu, then Facebook Marketplace, then Profile, then Saved items. The route differs between computer and phone, which is why people think theirs has vanished.

You see something you like, tap save, and promise yourself you'll come back to it. Then a week later you can't remember where you put it. It's a very common little frustration, and the fix is a short trip through the menu once you know the route.

The route differs depending on whether you're on a computer or in the phone app, so I've split them out below using the steps in Facebook's help centre. After that I'll cover collections, which are handy if you're shortlisting items for a project or a shop fit-out.

Finding your saved Facebook Marketplace items on a computer

Facebook's computer steps are short:

  1. From your Feed, click Facebook Marketplace in the left menu.
  2. Click Buying in the left menu.
  3. Click Saved.

That page is your list of saved listings. If you can't see Facebook Marketplace in the left menu at all, click See more first, as Facebook doesn't always show every shortcut.

Finding saved Facebook Marketplace items on iPhone

  1. Tap Menu in the top left of Facebook, then tap Facebook Marketplace. If you don't see it, tap See more.
  2. Tap Profile.
  3. Tap Saved items.

Finding saved Facebook Marketplace items on Android

The Android steps are a touch more compact, but it's the same destination:

  1. Tap Menu in the top left of Facebook, then tap Facebook Marketplace. If you don't see it, tap See more.
  2. Tap Profile, then tap Saved items.

One thing to notice: on the computer the saved list sits under Buying, but on the phone it sits under Profile. If you're hunting under the wrong heading, that's usually why it looks empty.

Using collections for your saved Facebook Marketplace items

Facebook's help page for saved items adds two ideas worth knowing. You can create a collection of items you've saved, and you can add someone as a contributor to that collection. In plain terms, you can group listings together, for example 'furniture for the studio' or 'props for photos', and invite another person to add to the same group.

I find that useful for small businesses and side projects. If you're kitting out a pop-up stall, a home office or a photo corner, a shared collection stops everyone sending screenshots back and forth. Facebook's separate help pages cover how to create a collection and add a contributor, so follow those for the exact taps.

Where saving fits into buying on Facebook Marketplace

Facebook groups its buying help into four topics: buying something, finding items to buy, sorting by distance or new listings, and saving items. So saving is one stage in a short process:

StageWhat it's for
Find items to buyBrowse or search for listings
Sort by distance or new listingsNarrow the list down
Save itemsKeep a shortlist to come back to
Message the sellerAsk whether it's available

The buying article says you can message a seller with a custom message or with Send, which sends 'Is this available?' for you. Once you've saved a few favourites, it's a good moment to compare and then contact the seller you like. If you want to know how Facebook shows when a message has been seen, my explainer on Facebook read receipts covers it.

Saved items on Facebook Marketplace versus your general Saved list

This is a point people trip over. Facebook has a general saved items page for things you save from your Feed, such as posts and videos, and on a computer it lives at facebook.com/saved, with categories listed in the left menu. Facebook Marketplace saved items are linked from the same area, but the steps above take you straight to the listings.

If you can't find your saved Facebook Marketplace items

  1. Check you're logged into the same Facebook account you used to save them.
  2. On a computer look under Buying, then Saved. On a phone look under Profile, then Saved items.
  3. Click or tap See more if Facebook Marketplace isn't in your menu.
  4. Update the Facebook app, then try again. Menus can vary by version.
  5. Try the other device, since a computer and a phone show the menus differently.

Facebook also has a separate help article on removing saved items, if you'd like to tidy your list once you've found it. And if you're close to a listing and wondering how much Facebook knows about your whereabouts, I've written about whether Facebook tracks your location too.

Shortlisting Facebook Marketplace items without losing track

A simple habit keeps a saved list useful. Each time you save a listing, ask yourself what job it's doing: is it a firm contender, a maybe or just inspiration? Then remove the ones you've moved on from, so the list stays short enough to scan in a minute. A short list gets acted on. A long one gets forgotten.

Using saved Facebook Marketplace items sensibly

A saved list is only a shortlist. Treat every listing with the same care as any other: check the seller's profile, ask questions and meet in a public place. Saving something doesn't hold it for you or tell the seller you're serious.

Frequently asked questions

Where are my saved items on Facebook Marketplace?

On a computer, click Facebook Marketplace, then Buying, then Saved. In the iPhone or Android app, tap Menu, then Facebook Marketplace, then Profile, then Saved items.

Why is my saved list empty?

Check you're logged into the account you saved them with, and look under Buying on a computer or Profile on a phone.

Can I group saved items together?

Yes. Facebook says you can create a collection of items you've saved and add someone as a contributor.

Is the Facebook Marketplace saved list the same as my general saved page?

They're linked, but the Facebook Marketplace steps take you straight to saved listings. The general saved page covers things like posts and videos too.

Does saving an item tell the seller?

Facebook's help pages on saving items don't say the seller is notified, so don't rely on it as a way of reserving anything. Message the seller if you're interested.
