To see Spotify Wrapped, update the Spotify mobile app and look for the Wrapped feed at the top of Home, or search for it by name. Spotify's newsroom says you need at least 30 songs over 30 seconds and five artists, and Private Mode streams don't count.
Every winter my feeds fill up with colourful Wrapped cards, and every winter somebody messages me asking where theirs is. Fair question. Wrapped doesn't live in your settings or your library, and it doesn't switch on until Spotify decides it's time. Here's what Spotify's own pages say about finding it, who gets one and what to do when yours hasn't turned up.
I've stuck to what Spotify has published rather than rumours. Where Spotify hasn't said something, such as an exact launch date for the next round, I'll tell you so instead of guessing.
Where to find Spotify Wrapped in the app
Spotify's newsroom says you can find Wrapped in the Spotify mobile app on iOS and Android. The route it describes is short:
- Update the Spotify app to the newest version from your app store.
- Open Spotify and look at the top of your Home screen for the Wrapped feed.
- If you can't see it, search for the Wrapped name plus the year.
- Tap in and move through the story cards.
Spotify's Wrapped page also says the newest mobile app gives the best experience. If you're on an older version, updating is the first thing to try.
Seeing Spotify Wrapped on the web or a computer
Spotify's Wrapped landing page sits at spotify.com/wrapped, and that's where the company sends people for the experience. The newsroom article links to it but doesn't spell out web steps, so I won't invent any. If you're on a laptop, open that page while logged in to the same account you listen on. If it says Wrapped isn't ready, that's Spotify telling you it hasn't launched yet.
That landing page has a line worth remembering: Spotify says it will get in touch when your Wrapped is ready, and that all you need is an account and a few hours of listening. It doesn't give a release date for the next one, so any date you see on social media isn't from Spotify's page.
What Spotify says you need to get a Wrapped
The newsroom post for the most recent round set out a clear listening threshold. Spotify said you needed to have streamed at least 30 songs for more than 30 seconds each, and listened to at least five different artists. Streams from Private Mode, and from songs or playlists you've excluded from your Taste Profile, didn't count.
Spotify added that Wrapped is open to both Free and Premium listeners in nearly all markets, though its support page warns that Wrapped and some of its features may not be available to everyone because of eligibility criteria. Spotify's current Wrapped page uses softer wording, so check it when the next round launches rather than assuming the old threshold still stands.
| Question | What Spotify's pages say |
|---|---|
| Which app? | The Spotify mobile app on iOS and Android |
| Where in the app? | Wrapped feed at the top of Home, or search for it |
| Free accounts? | Yes, Free and Premium in nearly all markets |
| Listening needed? | 30 songs over 30 seconds and five artists (previous round) |
| Private Mode? | Those streams don't count |
Why your Spotify Wrapped might be missing
When people say they can't see Wrapped, the cause is usually one of these:
- The round hasn't launched yet, so there's nothing to show.
- Your app is out of date. Update it and reopen Spotify.
- You listened mostly in Private Mode, which doesn't count toward Wrapped.
- You haven't listened enough to meet the threshold.
- You excluded your main playlists from your Taste Profile, so they don't count either.
- You're logged in to a different account than the one you normally listen on.
Spotify says it doesn't make Wrapped available to every user in every case, so if all of that checks out and it still doesn't appear, the Spotify support site is the place to ask.

How the Spotify Taste Profile affects your Wrapped
This one surprises people. Spotify's help page explains that you can exclude a playlist or a track from your taste profile through the three-dot menu. Excluded items have less effect on your recommendations and taste summaries, and Spotify gives sleep music as an example that won't shape Discover Weekly or Wrapped. Songs you play outside the excluded playlist still count. Changes can take up to 48 hours.
If your Wrapped looked nothing like you, a forgotten playlist of white noise or kids' songs is the likely culprit. Excluding it now is a tidy fix for next time.
Sharing your Spotify Wrapped cards
Spotify's newsroom says share cards appear throughout the experience. Tap share to send a card straight to friends through Spotify Messages, or post it to your social channels. If you run a small brand or a creator page, a Wrapped card makes friendly, low-effort content: your top sounds say something about you, and people enjoy comparing.
It's also a nice case study in how Spotify turns data into a yearly event people talk about. I dig into that in my look at Spotify's marketing strategy, and podcasters might enjoy the ideas in this round-up of social media podcasts.
