Yes, Buffer supports TikTok. You connect your TikTok account, then schedule videos with either automatic publishing or notification publishing. Auto-published posts can't use trending sounds, so those need the notification route and a finish in the TikTok app. Buffer also crossposts one video to Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
Short version: yes, and for most small businesses it'll do the job. The longer version depends on one question you'll want to answer before you connect anything: do your videos use TikTok's own sounds and effects, or your original audio?
What TikTok support covers
TikTok is a listed channel, and there's a dedicated TikTok scheduler page covering planning, scheduling, community replies and a link-in-bio page. You can upload one video and schedule it to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, adjusting each post to each platform's requirements before it goes out. For anyone repurposing short video across three apps, that's the main reason to use a scheduler at all.
Replies are covered too. The changelog shows TikTok joined the Community inbox in 2026, alongside YouTube, Google Business Profiles and Mastodon, so you can answer TikTok comments from the same place as your other channels.
Automatic or notification publishing: which route fits each video
The composer defaults to Automatic publishing. Many TikTok videos can auto-publish this way, as long as they meet TikTok's publishing requirements. You schedule, walk away, and the video goes out on time.
The other route is notification publishing. Choose Notify Me and you'll get a push notification on your phone when it's time to post. Tapping it opens the composer with your caption and video ready, and you finish the post in the TikTok app.
- Original audio, no in-app effects: Automatic publishing suits it.
- A trending sound you want to ride: use notification publishing.
- TikTok-only effects added in the app: notification publishing again.
- One video going to Reels and Shorts as well: either route, adjusted per platform.
Why trending sounds still need your thumb
This is the condition that trips people up. Buffer's TikTok scheduling guide says auto-published TikToks can only use original audio. The reason given is that TikTok's API doesn't provide access to its full music library, so a scheduler can't attach a trending sound for you.
If you want a trending sound, you must use notification publishing and finish the post by hand in the TikTok app. A fully hands-off trending sound workflow isn't possible through this route, and if your content strategy leans on trends, you'll be opening TikTok anyway.
Business account or personal: the two answers you'll find
The company's own pages disagree here, so I'll give you both. The TikTok scheduler page says a TikTok Business account isn't required, and most users can connect and publish from a regular TikTok account, though TikTok may limit certain features by account type or region.
The scheduling guide, on the other hand, tells you to convert a personal TikTok account to a business or creator account before connecting. My reading: try connecting the account you have, and if a feature you need is missing at connection, switching to a creator or business account is the documented fix. Check at the point you connect rather than assuming.
Smaller conditions worth knowing first
There's no automatic, account-specific best time to post feature for TikTok. Posting times are set by you. If you're unsure where to start, my guide to the best day and time to post on TikTok gives you a starting schedule to adjust.
Connections can drop. A TikTok account may disconnect when TikTok revokes or expires publishing permissions, for example after security or account changes. Publishing resumes once you reconnect, so if a scheduled video didn't go out, check the connection before anything else.
On the free plan, as of Nov 2026, you can connect up to three social channels, TikTok included, with automatic publishing.

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
A workaround for a mostly hands-off week
You can get close to hands-off with a little sorting. Batch your original audio videos and schedule them on Automatic publishing. Put any trend-led videos on Notify Me, timed for moments you know you'll be near your phone. Then upload each video once and push it to Reels and Shorts as well, tweaking the caption for each platform.
Compared with TikTok's native scheduler, that's a real gain. Buffer's guide says TikTok's own tool schedules up to 30 days ahead, doesn't allow edits after scheduling and doesn't crosspost, while Buffer can schedule months in advance and lets you edit.
Other ways to schedule TikTok
Later's TikTok scheduler page says it schedules TikTok videos to publish automatically and includes a custom link in bio. Publer's TikTok scheduler page says it schedules TikTok videos and carousels. TikTok's own scheduler sits behind a Schedule toggle under Settings in the web upload flow, limited to 30 days ahead and to creator or business accounts, per Buffer's guide.
If you're weighing more options, my guide on how to choose a social media post scheduler walks through what to weigh up.
My verdict for small teams posting to TikTok
If most of your videos use your own voice or music, it's a comfortable fit: schedule on auto, crosspost to Reels and Shorts, and answer comments from one inbox. If trends drive your account, you'll still be finishing those posts in the app, so plan your notification slots around your day. Either way, check the account type question when you connect, and you won't hit a surprise.
