A hotel POS is the point-of-sale system your restaurant, bar, spa or room service team uses to take orders and charge them to a guest's room bill through the property management system (PMS). Some are POS products that connect to a PMS, and others are PMS platforms that include a POS. Ten options follow in no particular order.
In a hotel, a poolside cocktail or a room-service breakfast doesn't end at the till: it has to land on the right guest's folio before checkout. That's the job that separates a hotel POS from an ordinary restaurant till, and it's the lens for this list.
The ten systems below are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and every description comes from each maker's own website, read 2 Nov 2026 (as of Nov 2026). If you run a standalone restaurant or shop instead, my guide to POS systems for small businesses is the better place to look.

The ten hotel POS systems, A to Z
Agilysys
Best for: Hotel groups and resorts that want the InfoGenesis POS from the same vendor as their PMS, as both appear in its product menu.
Clock PMS+
Best for: Independent hotels wanting one system whose feature list includes a restaurant POS beside reservations, invoicing and front desk.
Cloudbeds
Best for: Properties already weighing up a hotel platform, since its menu lists Point of Sale under operations next to the PMS and payments.
Hotelogix
Best for: Front desks wanting a cloud PMS whose point of sale charges meals, spa or minibar straight to the room bill.
Lightspeed
Best for: Hotel restaurants that want a full restaurant POS, since its page lists PMS integration for hotels and support for multiple locations.
Mews
Best for: Hoteliers who want a POS its page says was purpose-built for hotels, connected to the PMS and payments so every order, charge and bill stays in sync.
Silverware
Best for: Resorts and hotels running restaurants, bars, room service, banquets, cafés and poolside dining from one hotel POS with deep PMS integration.
STOVE
Best for: F&B teams that want one-click charge to room with automatic guest lookup, split payments and checkout validation, per its page.
Triniteq
Best for: Accommodation hotels and resorts wanting room charges through the PMS, bill transfers and a system its page says keeps trading when the internet drops.
Yanolja Cloud Solution (eZee)
Best for: Hotels that want restaurant, bar and room-service bills sent to the right folio on the same platform as their PMS and channel manager.
A POS that plugs into your PMS, or a PMS that brings its own POS
Here's the split a hotelier might not expect. Some of these are POS products that connect to the PMS you run. Mews says its POS 'was purpose-built for hotels', STOVE offers 'one-click charge to room with automatic guest lookup', Triniteq says its POS 'integrates with your property management system (PMS) for room charges', and Silverware describes 'deep PMS integration' across every outlet.

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Others are PMS platforms that list a POS among their features. Hotelogix lets you 'charge food, spa, bar to guest folio instantly', Yanolja Cloud Solution (eZee) sends restaurant, bar and room-service bills 'to the right folio', and Clock PMS+ lists a Restaurant POS for hotel restaurants, bars and room service in its feature menu. Cloudbeds lists Point of Sale in its platform menu, and Agilysys lists its InfoGenesis POS beside its own PMS.
Lightspeed sits apart as a restaurant POS that lists 'PMS integration for hotels'. So the first question isn't which POS has the longest feature list. It's whether you're keeping your current PMS or choosing the PMS and POS together.
Room charges, outlets and offline trading
- Charge to room. Ask how a server finds the right guest, and what happens if the name on the order doesn't match the folio.
- Your PMS on the list. If you're keeping your PMS, ask the POS maker for its integration list and check your system is on it, with a two-way link.
- Every outlet. Restaurants, bars, room service, banquets and poolside dining all appear on these pages, so list your outlets and check each one is covered.
- When the internet drops. One maker says its POS keeps trading offline. Ask every vendor what happens to orders and room charges during an outage.
- Split bills and transfers. Split payments and bill transfers appear on two pages here. Ask how a shared table's bill gets divided across rooms.
Six questions to ask a hotel POS vendor
- Does it connect to the PMS we run today, and is the link two-way?
- How does a server charge an order to a guest's room?
- Can every outlet, from the bar to banquets, run on one system?
- What happens to orders when the internet goes down?
- How do reports show sales for each outlet and for the whole property?
- What hardware does each outlet need, and who supports it?

My advice for hotels choosing a POS
Start with your PMS. If you're happy with it, shortlist POS products that name your PMS as an integration and test a room charge from end to end in the demo. If you're replacing the PMS anyway, look at the platforms that bring their own POS and see whether one system covers the front desk and the bar. Either way, walk through a busy evening with the vendor: a bar tab, a room-service order and a split bill, all landing on the right folio.
The POS is one part of the guest experience. My guide to AI for hotels and B&Bs covers where else a small property can save its team time.

Frequently asked questions
What is a hotel POS?
It's a point-of-sale system for a hotel's restaurants, bars and other outlets that can post charges to a guest's room bill through the PMS. The ten here include POS products that connect to a PMS and PMS platforms with a POS built in.
What's the difference between a hotel POS and a PMS?
The PMS runs reservations, check-ins, folios and housekeeping, while the POS takes orders and payments at each outlet. Several vendors on this list sell both, and others sell a POS that connects to your PMS.
Can a hotel POS charge food and drink to a room?
That's the core job on these pages. One maker lists one-click charge to room with automatic guest lookup, another says you can charge food, spa and bar to a guest folio instantly, and another lists PMS room charges and bill transfers.
Does a hotel POS work without the internet?
One maker on this list says its POS keeps trading when the internet drops. Ask every vendor how orders and room charges are handled during an outage before you sign.
Can I use a restaurant POS in a hotel?
You can if it connects to your PMS. One restaurant POS on this list names PMS integration for hotels on its own page, so ask any restaurant POS maker the same question.
Which of these list a point of sale in their own menu?
Three PMS platforms here list one in their menus: a Point of Sale entry, a Restaurant POS entry and the InfoGenesis POS. Ask each for a demo of the POS itself, not just the PMS.
