Write for Us Tech News: Tech News Blog Guest Post Guidelines

Yes, tech news guest posts are accepted on this blog. The ideal writer is a tech journalist, analyst, product insider or consultant who can take a piece of tech news and explain what it means for business owners, marketers and freelancers. We decline rewritten press releases, rumour pieces, launch coverage with no analysis and posts that will be out of date in a week.

Search tech news write for us and you'll mostly find directories and sites that publish press releases word for word, so the pitches we receive are often a launch announcement with a link. What this blog wants is the so what: why a platform change matters to small businesses, what a new AI release changes for a marketer's week, how an analyst separates a real shift from a passing headline.

My readers are business owners, marketers and freelancers who don't have time to follow every announcement and never will. They already read my guides to evaluating tech reviews before trusting them, writing a tech product review and getting started as a freelance technical writer. A tech news post has to tell them what to do differently, if anything. If it's nothing, that's worth saying too.

60-second tech news guest post check

A strong submission can answer yes to all five points:

  • Do you report on, analyse or work inside the tech industry
  • Does your post explain what the news means for a business
  • Does your opening answer the reader's question in the first two lines
  • Have you checked every claim against the original source
  • Will it still be useful a few months from now

Read the guidelines and submit your guest post.

What we publish

  • What a platform change means for small businesses
  • AI releases and what they change for marketers
  • Privacy and regulation news explained for owners
  • Separating real shifts from passing headlines
  • Big tech decisions and their knock on effects
  • Security incidents and what businesses should learn
  • How to follow tech news without drowning in it
  • Analysis of a launch, months after the hype

If your post could be published on any tech news site with the logo swapped, it is not for us.

What we look for in tech news posts

These are the tech news topics that land, and the version of each that gets turned down.

TopicWhat gets acceptedWhat gets declined
PlatformsWhat a change means for businessesA summary of the announcement
AIHow a release changes everyday workHype about what AI might do
SecurityLessons from an incidentScare headlines
RegulationRules explained for owners and marketersLegal advice presented as fact
AnalysisA considered view after the dust settlesRumours and leaks

What we don't accept

  • Rewritten press releases
  • Rumours and leaks
  • Launch coverage with no analysis
  • Thin posts with no first hand experience behind them
  • Previously published posts republished from another site

What you get

  • Your article in front of an engaged audience of business owners, marketers and founders
  • One relevant, contextual link back to your own site
  • A byline and the credibility of an established, high-traffic blog
  • Editorial help to make the piece as strong as it can be before it goes live

How to submit

Send your pitch or draft through the contact form. Include the topic, the one specific problem the post solves, and a line on your first-hand experience with it. One idea per pitch works best. You will hear back on whether it is a fit before you write the full draft.

What a strong tech news pitch looks like

A weak pitch says "I want to write about the latest smartphone launch." A strong one says "I'm a tech analyst who covers search and social platforms, and I want to explain what a recent search change means for small business websites, which claims were overblown, and the two things owners should check now." One is a brochure. The other is worth reading.

The angles that get accepted fastest

  • What a search engine update means for a small site
  • A security breach and the lesson for every business
  • Reading a tech announcement with a sceptical eye
  • How privacy rules change marketing habits
  • What a big acquisition means for the tools you use
  • Separating AI news from AI noise
  • Revisiting a hyped launch a few months later
  • Building a tech news routine that takes minutes

The traffic behind a placement here

Straight from Google Search Console, 3 to 30 October 2026: this site was shown 3.6 million times in Google results and received 23,300 clicks. That is the readership a tech news post joins. Want a firmer route than a pitch? Sponsored posts and link placements in articles that already rank are available too, and here is how to partner with me.

Frequently asked questions

Does Lilach Bullock accept tech news guest posts?

Yes. Tech news guest posts are welcome from tech journalists, analysts, insiders and consultants. We publish analysis that explains what tech news means for business owners and marketers, and decline press release rewrites, rumours and launch coverage with no view.

What tech news topics do you accept?

Platform changes, AI releases, privacy and regulation, security incidents, big tech decisions and considered analysis of launches. The common thread is what a business should do differently as a result.

Do you accept general news guest posts too?

Yes, and wider news and current affairs pitches suit the news page. Every pitch reaches the same editor, and the same rule applies: sourced, analysed and still useful after the headline fades.

How long should a guest post be?

Most accepted posts run between 1,200 and 2,000 words. Length matters less than usefulness: a tight 1,200 word post with one clear lesson beats a 3,000 word overview every time. Use short paragraphs, clear subheadings and at least one real example.

Can I include a link back to my own site?

One contextual link back to your own site is fine when it is relevant and helps the reader. Posts written purely to build a backlink with no real value for the reader are not published.

Do you accept previously published content?

No. Every submission must be original and not published anywhere else first, including your own blog, Medium, LinkedIn or a guest slot on another site. Republished or lightly reworded content gets declined, and we check before anything goes live.

Can I use AI tools to help write my guest post?

You can use AI to help with research or tidying your draft, but the experience, examples and opinions must be yours. Posts that read like generic AI output, with no first-hand detail, are declined.

Do you accept sponsored or commercial partnerships?

Commercial and partnership enquiries are handled separately from editorial guest posts. If you are a brand or agency wanting to work together rather than pitch an article, say so in the contact form and you will get the right details back.

How long does a decision take?

We aim to come back to you within a few working days. If the pitch is specific and clearly written, with the result in the first line, the decision is much faster.

Do you edit guest posts before they go live?

Yes. Every accepted post gets an editorial pass for clarity, structure and accuracy, and you may be asked for an extra example or a missing number. The aim is to make your piece as useful as it can be, not to change your voice.

Can I pitch more than one idea?

Yes, but send them one at a time or as a short numbered list with one line each. The strongest pitch goes first, and a single clear idea with a real result almost always beats several vague ones.

How do I submit a tech news guest post?

Send your pitch through the contact form with the topic, the specific result or lesson you will cover, and a line on your own experience reporting on, analysing or working inside the tech industry. One idea per pitch works best, and you will hear back before you write the full draft.
