Write for Us Tech: Tech Blog Guest Post Guidelines

Yes, tech guest posts are accepted on this blog. The ideal writer is an engineer, IT manager, product lead or tech consultant who can explain one tool, setup or technical decision so a busy business owner gets it first time. We decline spec sheet rewrites, gadget unboxings, press releases and posts that assume the reader already knows the jargon.

Type tech write for us into a search bar and you'll wade through directories, recycled guideline pages and sites that publish anything with a link in it. Most tech pitches we get are listicles of apps or rewritten product announcements. What this blog wants is a person who's set the thing up: how an IT lead moved a small office onto new devices without a lost week, why a help desk tool stuck when the last one didn't, what an engineer wishes non technical founders understood about their own website.

My readers are business owners and freelancers who run on software but don't have an IT department. They already use my guides to help desk software for small businesses, technical SEO in simple words and choosing productivity software that fits your workflow. A tech post has to make one decision easier for them, not show off what you know.

60-second tech guest post check

A strong submission can answer yes to all five points:

  • Do you build, manage or support technology for businesses
  • Have you explained every technical term the first time it appears
  • Does your opening answer the reader's question in the first two lines
  • Is the advice based on a setup you've run yourself
  • Would a founder with no IT team be able to act on it

Read the guidelines and submit your guest post.

What we publish

  • Setting up a small office's devices, accounts and backups
  • Choosing business software without regretting it a month later
  • Website speed, hosting and security explained for owners
  • Password, login and access habits for small teams
  • Moving to new tools without losing data or staff goodwill
  • What a fractional IT lead does and when a business needs one
  • Tech for remote and hybrid teams that holds up
  • Fixing the tech problems small businesses ignore until they break

If your post could be published on any tech site with the logo swapped, it is not for us.

What we look for in tech posts

These are the tech topics that land, and the version of each that gets turned down.

TopicWhat gets acceptedWhat gets declined
Business softwareWhy a tool fits a certain kind of teamA list of apps with no criteria
SecurityA setup you run and why it worksScare stories with no steps to take
WebsitesSpeed and hosting choices explained for ownersCode tutorials aimed at developers
DevicesHow you rolled out hardware for a teamA gadget review or unboxing
IT supportWhat outside help covers and when it's neededA promo for your own IT service

What we don't accept

  • Spec sheet rewrites and gadget unboxings
  • Press releases or product announcements written as articles
  • Jargon heavy posts written for other engineers
  • Thin posts with no first hand experience behind them
  • Previously published posts republished from another site

What you get

  • Your article in front of an engaged audience of business owners, marketers and founders
  • One relevant, contextual link back to your own site
  • A byline and the credibility of an established, high-traffic blog
  • Editorial help to make the piece as strong as it can be before it goes live

How to submit

Send your pitch or draft through the contact form. Include the topic, the one specific problem the post solves, and a line on your first-hand experience with it. One idea per pitch works best. You will hear back on whether it is a fit before you write the full draft.

What a strong tech pitch looks like

A weak pitch says "I want to write about the top tech trends every business should know." A strong one says "I look after IT for a handful of small agencies, and I want to show the backup setup I install on day one, the login mistake I see in nearly every office, and how we moved one team to new laptops in a single afternoon." One is a brochure. The other is worth reading.

The angles that get accepted fastest

  • The tech setup a new small business needs on day one
  • What breaks first when a team outgrows free tools
  • Backups explained for people who've never tested theirs
  • Switching software without losing a week of work
  • Questions to ask before signing up to any business tool
  • Keeping a website fast and safe without a developer on call
  • Tech habits that make remote teams easier to run
  • When to call in outside IT help and what to expect

The traffic behind a placement here

Straight from Google Search Console, 3 to 30 October 2026: this site was shown 3.6 million times in Google results and received 23,300 clicks. That is the readership a tech post joins. Want a firmer route than a pitch? Sponsored posts and link placements in articles that already rank are available too, and here is how to partner with me.

Frequently asked questions

Does Lilach Bullock accept tech guest posts?

Yes. Tech guest posts are welcome from engineers, IT managers, product leads and tech consultants. We publish clear, tested advice that helps business owners choose and run technology, and decline spec sheet rewrites, unboxings and press releases.

What tech topics do you accept?

Business software choices, security habits, website speed and hosting, device rollouts, remote team tech and outside IT support. The common thread is a decision a business owner without an IT department has to make.

Do you accept IoT or hosting guest posts too?

Yes. Connected devices suit the IoT page, and server, domain and website hosting pitches suit the hosting page. Every pitch reaches the same editor, and the same rule applies: tested, clearly explained and useful to a non technical reader.

How long should a guest post be?

Most accepted posts run between 1,200 and 2,000 words. Length matters less than usefulness: a tight 1,200 word post with one clear lesson beats a 3,000 word overview every time. Use short paragraphs, clear subheadings and at least one real example.

Can I include a link back to my own site?

One contextual link back to your own site is fine when it is relevant and helps the reader. Posts written purely to build a backlink with no real value for the reader are not published.

Do you accept previously published content?

No. Every submission must be original and not published anywhere else first, including your own blog, Medium, LinkedIn or a guest slot on another site. Republished or lightly reworded content gets declined, and we check before anything goes live.

Can I use AI tools to help write my guest post?

You can use AI to help with research or tidying your draft, but the experience, examples and opinions must be yours. Posts that read like generic AI output, with no first-hand detail, are declined.

Do you accept sponsored or commercial partnerships?

Commercial and partnership enquiries are handled separately from editorial guest posts. If you are a brand or agency wanting to work together rather than pitch an article, say so in the contact form and you will get the right details back.

How long does a decision take?

We aim to come back to you within a few working days. If the pitch is specific and clearly written, with the result in the first line, the decision is much faster.

Do you edit guest posts before they go live?

Yes. Every accepted post gets an editorial pass for clarity, structure and accuracy, and you may be asked for an extra example or a missing number. The aim is to make your piece as useful as it can be, not to change your voice.

Can I pitch more than one idea?

Yes, but send them one at a time or as a short numbered list with one line each. The strongest pitch goes first, and a single clear idea with a real result almost always beats several vague ones.

How do I submit a tech guest post?

Send your pitch through the contact form with the topic, the specific result or lesson you will cover, and a line on your own experience building, managing or supporting technology for businesses. One idea per pitch works best, and you will hear back before you write the full draft.
