Facebook Content Monetization Is Invite-Only (2026): How Invites Work and What to Do While You Wait

Yes, as of October 2026 Facebook Content Monetization is still invite-only: Meta sends invitations periodically to creators it considers eligible, and there's no application. If you haven't been invited, you can send Meta's interest form from your dashboard, but Meta says that form doesn't guarantee an invite.

Lots of people search for the Facebook Content Monetization beta and expect a sign-up button. There isn't one. Here's who gets invited, how a real invite reaches you, and what to do while you wait.

Why there's no sign-up button

Meta's own wording is short: "The program is currently invite-only. Invitations are distributed periodically to eligible creators." Meta doesn't publish the criteria behind "eligible", so I won't pretend to know them. What it does say is that it's sending invitations to millions of creators this year and plans to offer open enrolment in the near future. Until that happens, an invitation is the only way in.

Meta also points to one other route. A creator may receive an invitation from one of Meta's approved agency partners as part of the Creator Fast Track programme. That's an official route, but it's still an invitation, not something you can buy.

How a real invitation reaches you

Meta says invitations come only from official, in-product Facebook or Meta channels:

  • The Facebook app
  • Email
  • Meta Business Suite
  • The Professional dashboard, which now shows as Creator Dashboard or Business Dashboard

If you're not sure an invite is real, Meta says authentic invites can be found in the monetization tools sections of those channels. So the test is simple: if you can't see it inside your own dashboard or Business Suite, treat it as fake. Meta specifically warns creators not to click suspicious links that aren't from official Meta channels, and it names Facebook Messenger. That's the honest catch with this programme. Because it's invite-only, it's a magnet for messages promising to get you in.

The interest form, step by step

If you haven't been invited, this is the only action Meta offers. As of October 2026, Meta's creator page gives the path:

  1. Go to your dashboard.
  2. Find the Monetization tab.
  3. Click Content Monetization to open the form.
  4. Fill it in and send it.

Meta's help page is blunt about what the form is: "This is not an application and it does not guarantee that you will be invited to the program." Send it once and move on. Sending it again won't change anything Meta says about how invitations work.

Once the invite arrives: setting it up

If you're invited, set-up is quick. On a Page, from a computer:

  1. Go to Meta Business Suite.
  2. Go to Monetization, then Content monetization.
  3. Click Sign up.
  4. Review and accept the Terms and Conditions.
  5. Fill out your payout details and click Complete setup.

On mobile, tap the invitation notification, or go to the dashboard, then Monetize, then Content monetization, and tap Get Started. On a profile, you must turn on Professional Mode first, then go to your dashboard, tap Content monetization and follow the same terms and payout steps. If you need help with the payout part, here's where to add a payout method on Facebook.

What it pays for once you're in

I'll keep this to what decides whether a post counts, because that's what you can plan for while you wait. Meta says Content Monetization pays for the performance of public reels, photos, stories and text posts, rather than for ads placed inside your content. The amount depends on qualified views and watch time, as determined solely by Meta, and it may change over time.

RuleWhat Meta says
ReelsMust be at least 10 seconds
StoriesMust be at least 5 seconds
Watch timeUnder 5 seconds on any piece of content never qualifies
PoliciesYour Page or pro mode profile must follow Partner Monetization Policies and Content Monetization Policies
ResharesResharing existing posts to stories isn't eligible

For readers in the EU, the EEA and Switzerland, Meta adds that your ability to monetize with ads is limited if your account sits in an Accounts Center with a subscription to use Meta products without ads. For when the earnings land in your account, I've covered when Facebook pays out separately.

What ended on 31 August 2025

Content Monetization replaced three older programmes, and they all stopped on the same day.

What endedLast day to earnWhat replaced it
In-stream Ads31 August 2025Invitations to Content Monetization for eligible creators
Ads on Reels31 August 2025Invitations to Content Monetization for eligible creators
Performance Bonus Program31 August 2025Invitations to Content Monetization for eligible creators

That matters if you're reading an older guide. Anything that explains how to qualify for In-stream Ads or the Performance Bonus Program describes programmes you can't join any more. If you were in the old bonus programme and wonder why you haven't been moved across, I've covered why eligible creators sometimes aren't invited.

What I'd do while you wait

I'd send the interest form once and then ignore every DM that offers you an invite. Skip any link that didn't come from inside Facebook or Meta Business Suite, however official it looks. No agency, app or stranger in Messenger can switch this on for you, apart from Meta's own approved Creator Fast Track partners, and even they send an invitation through Meta.

Meanwhile, keep posting the kind of public content the programme pays for: reels of 10 seconds or more, photos and text posts that are original and inside Meta's monetization policies. That way, if the invite lands, your back catalogue already fits the rules. Meta changes this programme often, so check your Monetization tab every few weeks rather than relying on a guide, this one included.
