AI Consultant for Telecom Companies: AI Enablement for Support, Sales and Ops

I'm Lilach Bullock, an AI implementation consultant and trainer, and I work with telecom companies on AI enablement: helping support, sales and operations teams use AI on their own daily work. In September 2026 a telecom company asked me to help with exactly that, and this page explains what that kind of engagement looks like, without the big-consultancy jargon.

I'll be straight with you. I'm not a telecom engineer and I won't pretend to be. I don't redesign networks. What I do is help the people inside a telecom business, the ones answering customers, selling plans and running operations, get real value from AI tools in the work they already do.

Where AI helps telecom teams

TeamWhere AI tends to help
SupportDrafting replies to common questions, summarising long ticket histories, and building clearer help content.
SalesResearching prospects, drafting follow-ups and preparing for calls faster.
OperationsReporting, admin and the repeat tasks that pile up between systems.
MarketingCampaign drafts, content and getting the business named when buyers ask AI assistants for recommendations.

Every telecom business is set up differently, so I start by finding the tasks that take each team the most time, then work from there.

What an engagement covers

  • AI training and hands-on workshops for teams, built around their own work, online or in person.
  • AI enablement: clear rules on what's allowed, what data stays out and who checks AI output.
  • AI automation for repeat work in Make.com, Zapier or n8n, such as enquiry handling, follow-up and reporting.
  • GEO and AI visibility, so ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Bing Copilot describe your business accurately.

If automation is your main need, see my AI automation consultant page. For the wider picture of getting teams ready, see AI enablement.

Why start with one team

Big AI programmes in telecom tend to stall in planning. I'd rather start with one team and one painful task, show it working, and let the rest of the business see the difference. Support is often a good first choice, because the repeat questions are easy to spot and the time spent on them is easy to see. But it's your call, and sometimes sales or operations is where the pressure is.

Whichever team goes first, the same rules apply: your customer data stays out of tools that aren't approved for it, a person checks anything AI drafts before a customer sees it, and nobody's expected to become an AI expert overnight.

How it runs

  1. A call to understand your teams, tools and where time goes.
  2. A short plan that names the first tasks and the teams involved.
  3. Hands-on sessions and, where it makes sense, workflow builds.
  4. Follow-up so the new habits hold.

I don't publish prices. Scope depends on how many teams are involved and whether you want training, automation or both.

Other teams I work with

Alongside telecom, my AI work this year has been with SaaS marketing teams, a product marketing team that wanted a practical Claude workshop, and small businesses automating manual work. I've spent 23 years in marketing, spoken at over 100 events including TEDxBolton, and worked with brands including IBM, Twitter, Dropbox, monday.com and Greenpeace. More on how I work with companies is on my AI consultant page.

What to look for when hiring an AI consultant for telecom

  • They ask which teams and tasks you want help with, before talking about tools.
  • They're honest about what they do and don't know about your industry.
  • They cover data rules, because telecom teams handle a lot of customer information.
  • They train your people, so you're not dependent on them afterwards.

Telecom teams already move fast; AI should help them, not slow them down. I run AI training and workshops for teams, and help businesses with AI enablement and workflow automation, so the busywork runs itself and people get time back. Most of that work is with SaaS marketing teams and small businesses. Here's how we can work together.

Frequently asked questions

Who is an AI consultant for telecom companies?

I'm an AI implementation consultant and trainer, and a telecom company came to me for AI enablement in September 2026. I help support, sales and operations teams use AI on their own work, and build automations where they fit.

How can a telecom company use AI in customer support?

Common starting points are drafting replies to frequent questions, summarising long ticket histories and improving help content, with a person checking output before it reaches customers.

Do you offer AI training for telecom teams?

Yes. I run hands-on AI training and workshops for telecom teams, built around their own tasks, online or in person.

Is AI enablement different from buying an AI tool?

Yes. Buying a tool gives people access. Enablement makes sure they know which tasks to use it for, what data stays out and who checks the output, so the tool gets used well.

Which telecom team should start with AI first?

Usually the team with the most repeat work. Support is often a good first choice because the common questions are easy to spot, but sales or operations can be better if that's where the pressure is.

Do I need a telecom specialist or an AI specialist?

For network engineering, a telecom specialist. For helping your teams use AI in support, sales and operations, you need someone who knows AI and how teams work. That's where I come in.
