HubSpot's social tool lets you connect your business social accounts, schedule posts, see them on a calendar and report on how they perform, all inside HubSpot. As of October 2026 it's part of Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise, and it connects Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, TikTok, X and YouTube.
The limit that matters most for reporting is time. HubSpot collects data on each post for the first 30 days after it's published, and anything after that won't appear. LinkedIn data is deleted from HubSpot after 1 year because of LinkedIn's data retention policy, and social reports only show the past year anyway. Boosted posts and ad campaigns aren't included, only organic activity. So if you want a long-term record, save the reports you care about to a dashboard as you go.
Connecting your social accounts
You need All accessible accounts or Their connected accounts social permissions to connect an account, and how many you can connect depends on your subscription. When you connect one, HubSpot pulls in the last 60 days of post data automatically.
| Network | What you can connect, as of October 2026 |
|---|---|
| Pages you're an admin of, not personal profiles. Pages need re-authenticating every 90 days. | |
| Professional accounts linked to a Facebook page you manage | |
| Your personal account plus Company and Showcase Pages you admin, not Groups | |
| X | Your account, choosing whether reports cover posts from all sources or only those published through HubSpot |
| TikTok | Personal and business accounts |
| Reddit and YouTube | Your account, or a YouTube brand account |
That X choice is worth getting right first time. To change it later you have to disconnect and reconnect the account. And if you report on all sources, anyone with publish permissions in the social tool can publish from that X account.
One more thing that confuses teams: the network shows the person who connected the account as the post creator. You can't change that name in HubSpot. To post as someone else, disconnect and reconnect as them.
Scheduling posts and the social calendar
You can publish straight away, at a custom time or on a publishing schedule. To build your own schedule, go to settings, then Marketing, then Social, open the Publishing tab and add times to each day. A Publish like a human toggle shifts each post to within 10 minutes of its slot. HubSpot suggests checking your Top Posts report and sorting published posts by clicks to find the times that work.
The calendar on the Manage tab shows drafted, scheduled and published posts, including ones published outside HubSpot, by month, week or day. Drag a post to a new date to reschedule it; the time stays the same. If you're comparing this with dedicated tools, here's my list of the best social media scheduling tools.
Letting someone draft without publishing
On Marketing Hub Enterprise, you can give a user Draft only social permissions. They can write posts, set a date and time and bulk upload drafts, but they can't publish or schedule them, add posts to campaigns, connect accounts, or delete scheduled or published posts.
- Click the settings icon and go to Users & Teams.
- Hover over the user and click Edit permissions.
- Click Marketing, go to the Social section and select Draft only.
- To approve their work, go to Marketing, then Social, and click Drafts in the left sidebar.
- Hover over a draft, click Actions and select Approve draft, or select several and click Approve Drafts.
- In the social composer, click Review & Schedule, then Schedule or Publish.
Listening: X feeds, competitors and Reddit
Keyword feeds on the Listen tab work for X only, need your X account set to report on posts from all sources, and only include posts made after the feed was created. The feed shows the past seven days, and keyword feeds can take up to four hours to pick up new activity. Competitor feeds, on Marketing Hub Enterprise, follow up to three competitors' Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube posts, and a feed nobody views for more than 60 days is removed automatically.
Social insights, currently a beta, tracks Reddit mentions of your brand, competitors and keywords, with brand sentiment and a share of voice rank. You need at least three subreddits selected for tracking, and a Super Admin has to switch on access to generative AI tools first.
Image sizes worth knowing
Each network has its own rules. For Facebook posts, HubSpot recommends images of at least 1200 x 630 pixels, and GIFs won't animate once published. Instagram images should be 320 to 1440 pixels wide or Instagram may resize them. LinkedIn images should be larger than 552 x 276 pixels and can't be resized after upload, with up to nine per post. TikTok images must be exactly 1080 x 1920 or 1920 x 1080 pixels, and X images can be up to 5 MB.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Reading your social reports
The Analyze tab covers Audience, Published Posts, Interactions, Clicks, Shares, Impressions, Sessions, New Contacts and Top Posts. Clicks only count posts published through HubSpot, tracked with shortened links, and Instagram posts are left out of that report. Impressions don't include X or personal LinkedIn accounts. Externally published posts can take up to one day to appear, and TikTok analytics up to 24 to 48 hours. You can also compare up to ten posts side by side.
My verdict on HubSpot social
I'd use HubSpot's social tool if you're already on Marketing Hub Professional and want posts, contacts and reporting in one place, because seeing which posts drove sessions and new contacts is what most standalone schedulers can't show you. I'd skip it as your only record of performance, given the 30-day collection window, and I'd get the X reporting choice right the first time. For what else comes with the Hub, see my guide to HubSpot Marketing Hub.
Scheduling posts is the easy part; the time goes on drafting, approvals and pulling the numbers together each month. I run AI training and workshops for teams, and help businesses with AI enablement and workflow automation, so the busywork runs itself and people get time back. Most of that work is with SaaS marketing teams and small businesses. Here's how we can work together.
