Notion Integrations (2026): 11 Connections Compared

Notion integrations, which Notion calls connections, link your workspace to other apps so their files, messages or charts show up inside your pages. Some work through Notion's public API and some simply embed content. The eleven below come from Notion's own connections directory, all listed as free, in no particular order.

Most people go looking for Notion integrations when they're tired of switching tabs. You want the design file, the booking page or the dashboard right there in the page you're working in, not three clicks away.

Every connection here is listed in Notion's connections directory as made by Notion, so you're adding something Notion itself puts its name to. If you're still deciding whether Notion's the right home for your notes at all, my guide to Notion alternatives is worth a read first.

How I picked these connections

Every row comes from Notion's connections directory, as of Oct 2026. I picked eleven connections across file storage, chat, design, code, video, scheduling, analytics and marketing apps, then noted what the directory shows: the connection type, the category, who made it and, where shown, the install count and rating. Type is either Public API or Embed. The directory lists all eleven as free, so the last column says Yes throughout.

Public API or Embed: what the label means

Notion's directory tags each connection with a type, and that type tells you how much the connection does. The four marked Public API, for file storage, chat, design and code, connect through Notion's public API, so they can show live files, keep work in sync or send notifications. The seven marked Embed put a view of the other app inside your page, so you can see a design, a video or a dashboard without leaving Notion.

That's a handy split when you're choosing. If you want things to happen between two apps, look for Public API. If you only want to see something in place, an embed's usually all you need.

The most installed connection has three ratings

Here's the bit most people miss. The Google Drive connection shows 269K installs in Notion's directory, the most of any here, yet only 3 ratings, averaging 2.3, as of Oct 2026. The chat connection shows 96K installs and a 5.0, from a single rating.

So the ratings tell you very little. A 2.3 from three people and a 5.0 from one person aren't enough to judge something hundreds of thousands have installed. Install counts are the better signal, and only four connections here show one at all: file storage, chat, design and code. For the other seven, the directory shows no count, so there's nothing to compare.

Which connection for which job

  • You want files from another app visible in a page: pick a Public API connection for that app, so the page shows the live file.
  • You want updates pushed to your team chat: pick a connection that sets up notifications and workflows.
  • You want to show a design, a video or a dashboard: an Embed connection is enough.
  • You run product or data work from Notion: pick the analytics embeds, so the numbers sit beside the plan.
  • You take bookings: embed your booking page where clients already read your details.

Setting connections up without the clutter

  1. Start with the app you switch to most often during the day.
  2. Put embeds on the page where the content gets used, not on a catch-all dashboard.
  3. If you build your own databases, add file and design views there so each row has what it needs. My guide to creating a database in Notion walks through the setup.
  4. Review your connections every few months and remove the ones nobody opens.

My plain advice on Notion integrations

Connect the two or three apps you already use every day and stop there. Notion gets slow and noisy when every page is full of embeds, so each connection should save you a tab, not add one. Pick Public API connections when you want things to move between apps, and embeds when you only want to look.

And once you've settled on Notion, my walkthrough on how to make a table in Notion shows the simplest way to start.

Frequently asked questions

What are Notion integrations?

They're connections that link Notion to other apps, so files, messages, designs or dashboards from those apps show up in your Notion pages. Notion's own directory calls them connections.

Are Notion integrations free?

The eleven on this page are all listed as free in Notion's connections directory as of Oct 2026. The app you're connecting to may have its own plans.

What's the difference between a Public API and an Embed connection?

A Public API connection talks to the other app through Notion's API, for things like syncing files or sending notifications. An Embed connection shows the other app's content inside a page.

Which Notion integration has the most installs?

Of the connections here, the file storage one shows the most, 269K installs as of Oct 2026, though only three people have rated it.

Who makes these Notion connections?

Notion's connections directory lists every one on this page as made by Notion.
