Intent data providers show which companies are actively researching a problem or product like yours, so sales and marketing can reach them while they're in market. The signals come from three places: third-party content research, review-site activity and your own website visitors. Ten providers follow in no particular order.
Most B2B buyers do their research long before they fill in a form. Intent data picks up the trail: a company reading articles on a topic, comparing tools on a review site or visiting your product and case study pages several times in a week. Act on those signals and you reach accounts while they're deciding, not after.
This list covers the buying-signal layer only, not contact databases or full ABM suites. The ten providers below are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and every description comes from each vendor's own website, read as of Oct 2026. To turn signals into a working routine, my intent signal tracking cheat sheet sets out the steps.
Intent data by signal source
I checked the free plan column on each vendor's own website, as of Oct 2026. Yes means the page names a free plan, a free version or an open source edition. Trial only means it names a time-limited free trial. Not stated means the page I read named neither, so check the vendor's own site before you sign up.

Familiar intent names have changed hands, brands or direction
Here's what the vendor pages show. The Dealfront page says Dealfront is now Leadfeeder, the Clearbit address opens a page saying Clearbit has joined HubSpot, and Koala's home page announces it's been acquired by Cursor and will shut down. In a category this young, ownership moves fast.
The survivors are repositioning too. Warmly now calls itself Autonomous Revenue Agents, and 6sense calls itself The ABM Platform Powered by Revenue Intelligence. Intent data is turning into a feature of agent and ABM platforms, so ask whether you're buying the signal or the whole workflow around it.
Third-party research, review sites or your own website
- Third-party research intent. Signals from companies reading content across a network of B2B sites, grouped into topics. Wide reach, but the signal is about the topic, not your brand.
- Review-site intent. Companies looking at your category, your profile or comparisons on a software review site. Narrower, but very close to a buying decision.
- First-party website intent. Identifying the companies, and sometimes the people, visiting your own site. The strongest signal of interest in you, but only from people who've already found you.
How to test an intent data provider
- Take your last 50 closed deals and check how many showed up as intent signals before the first sales call.
- Compare the provider's account list with your ideal customer profile. Signals from companies you'd never sell to are noise.
- Check where alerts land: CRM, Slack, Teams or ad audiences.
- Ask how the signal is collected and how consent is handled, especially for person-level identification.
- Run it for one quarter with one sales team and compare their pipeline with a team without it.
Intent signals work best on a defined list of target accounts. My ABM target list template helps you build that list first.

My plain advice on intent data providers
Start with your own website. First-party visitor signals are the quickest to switch on and the strongest sign of interest in you specifically. Add review-site or third-party research intent when you need to reach accounts that haven't found you yet.
And don't buy signals your team won't act on. An intent alert nobody follows up within a day is worth nothing, so plan who does what before the first alert arrives.

Frequently asked questions
What is intent data?
It's information showing which companies are researching a topic, product category or your own brand, based on their online behaviour, so you can reach them while they're in market.
What's the difference between first-party and third-party intent?
First-party intent comes from your own website and product. Third-party intent comes from activity elsewhere, such as research across content networks or review sites.
Is there a free intent data tool?
Yes. Several providers on this list name a free plan or free version on their own site, shown in the free plan column, usually for website visitor identification.
Is intent data the same as a B2B contact database?
No. A contact database gives you names and details. Intent data tells you which companies are showing buying signals now. Some platforms offer both.
How quickly should sales act on an intent signal?
As soon as possible. Intent fades quickly, so route alerts straight to the owner of the account and follow up within a day.
