A WordPress CRM plugin keeps your contacts, leads and deals inside your WordPress dashboard, or sends them on to a CRM you already use. They come in three kinds, so decide which you need first. Ten free plugins follow in no particular order, with WordPress.org directory numbers as of Oct 2026.
Search for a WordPress CRM and you'll find three different things sharing one label. Some are full CRMs that live in your dashboard, with contacts, deals and invoices. Some are email marketing tools that include a CRM, built around newsletters and automations. And some aren't CRMs at all: they're connectors that pass your site's users or form leads to a CRM you run elsewhere.
The ten below are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and each description is the plugin's own from the WordPress.org plugin directory. If you're still working out what you need from a CRM in the first place, start with my guide on what to look for when choosing a CRM system.
WordPress CRM plugins compared
All ten are free plugins in the WordPress.org plugin directory, as of Oct 2026, so the free plan column says Yes for each. Several makers sell extra features on their own sites, so check the plugin's page before you plan around a feature.

Three kinds of CRM plugin
- Full CRMs in your dashboard: three plugins here manage contacts and clients inside WordPress. Two add invoices, and WP-CRM System is the one built around clients and projects.
- Email marketing with a CRM built in: three pair contact records with newsletters and automations, and SureContact also tracks ecommerce revenue against those contacts.
- Connectors: WP Fusion Lite syncs WordPress users with contact records in your CRM or marketing automation system, Zoho CRM Lead Magnet sends website form leads into Zoho CRM, and CRM Perks Forms builds contact forms and popups that feed a CRM.
- An add-on: Extended CRM for Users Insights adds management options for user groups, notes and custom user fields to the Users Insights plugin, so it's only useful if you run that.
That third group is the one people miss. Three of the ten are connectors, not CRMs. They're the right install if your CRM already lives outside WordPress, and the wrong one if you were hoping to manage customers inside it.
My walkthrough in the best WordPress event plugins picks up where this one stops.
Your customers' data, your responsibility
A plugin CRM stores your customers' details in your own WordPress database, which makes you responsible for them. The WordPress Plugin Handbook's privacy page asks two questions of any plugin that collects personal data: does it provide a personal data exporter, and does it provide a personal data eraser callback?
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Those hook into the export and erase tools WordPress already has, the ones you'd use when a customer asks for a copy of their data or asks you to delete it. Before you move a single contact into any CRM plugin here, check its documentation or support forum for exporter and eraser support. It's a dull question, and it's the first one to ask.

Rating counts worth a second look
Looking at the directory numbers, as of Oct 2026, FluentCRM has the most installs here, 80,000+, with 96/100 from 250 ratings, and Jetpack CRM has 30,000+ installs and 86/100 from 152. Groundhogg has far fewer installs, 2,000+, but 96/100 from 150 ratings, which is a lot of reviews for its size.
The Zoho connector has the lowest rating, 62/100 from 25, and lists WordPress 7.0.0 as the latest version it's tested up to, where most here list 7.1.4. Two plugins score 100/100, but from 4 and 2 ratings, which isn't enough to read anything into.
One of those two, Bit CRM, also needs PHP 8.2, the highest requirement on this list, so check what your host runs before you install it.

My plain advice on choosing a CRM plugin
Decide where your customer records should live before you pick a plugin. If you want everything in WordPress, choose a full CRM, or an email tool with a CRM if newsletters are the main job. If your CRM is already elsewhere, you need a connector, not another CRM. Either way, check exporter and eraser support before you import a single contact.
If you'd rather keep things simple, my guide to the simplest CRM a small business can start with is a good place to begin.

Frequently asked questions
What's a WordPress CRM plugin?
It's a plugin that manages contacts, leads and often deals or invoices from your WordPress dashboard, or sends your site's users and form leads to a CRM you use elsewhere.
Should my CRM live inside WordPress?
It can. A plugin CRM keeps records in your own database, which also makes you responsible for them. If your team already uses a separate CRM, one of the connectors here links the two instead.
What's the difference between a CRM plugin and a CRM connector?
A CRM plugin stores and manages customer records on your site. A connector passes leads or users from your site to a CRM that runs somewhere else, so your records stay there.
What privacy features should a CRM plugin have?
The WordPress Plugin Handbook asks whether a plugin that collects personal data provides a personal data exporter and a personal data eraser callback. Check for both.
Are WordPress CRM plugins free?
All ten here are free plugins in the WordPress.org plugin directory, as of Oct 2026. Some makers sell extra features separately, so check the plugin page.
