Honey Alternatives (2026): 10 Coupon and Cash Back Apps

A Honey alternative is another browser extension or shopping app that finds coupon codes or adds cash back when you shop online. Some test codes at checkout, some focus on cash back, and some work in Safari on iPhone or in shops as well. Ten options follow, in no particular order.

Honey turned coupon hunting into a button at checkout. But lots of shoppers now want a second opinion, a tool that works on iPhone, or one that adds cash back on top of codes, so the field has filled up with alternatives.

The ten apps below are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and every description comes from the app's own App Store listing, read this week. If you'd like to understand the original first, my guide on how Honey works explains promo codes, rewards and the rest.

Honey alternatives at a glance

I checked the free plan column on each app's own App Store listing, as of Oct 2026. Yes means the listing names a free app, a free version, a free tier or free content. Trial only means a time-limited trial. Not stated means the listing I read named neither, even where there's a download button, so check the app's own page before you sign up.

Coupon finders and cash back sites are different

A coupon finder looks for promo codes and tries them at checkout. A cash back app gives you a share of what you spend back later, usually as points, a balance or a gift card. Some apps on this list do both, and a few let you stack them on the same order.

Cash back usually only counts if the app tracks your visit, so open the store through the app or extension and don't switch tabs halfway. It also tends to show as pending for a while before you can withdraw it.

Read the permissions screen before you install

Coupon extensions need to see the checkout page to work. Google's Chrome Web Store Help explains that an extension asking for your data on all the websites you visit can read, request or modify data from every page you visit, including your bank account and social media pages.

That doesn't make an extension dangerous, but it does mean you're trusting it with a lot. Install one or two you've checked, not five, and remove any you stop using.

Sharing costs with housemates as well? Compare apps like Splitwise for splitting bills.

Four habits that save the most

  1. Use one coupon finder and one cash back app, not several fighting at checkout.
  2. Check the store's own site and email offers, which can beat any code.
  3. Read the cash back terms, since some categories and gift cards don't count.
  4. Ignore codes for things you weren't going to buy anyway.

My plain advice on Honey alternatives

Pick one coupon tool and one cash back tool that work where you shop most, on phone or laptop. Check what each extension can see before you click install. And treat every saving as a saving only if you'd have bought the item anyway, because the apps make their money when you buy more.

If you'd like to compare a big cash back site in more depth, my guide on how one big cash back site works goes through it step by step.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to Honey?

It depends on how you shop. Some apps suit iPhone and Safari, some focus on verified codes and some add cash back on top of coupons.

Are Honey alternatives free?

Several apps on this list say they're free on their listing. Check the free plan column before you install.

Is a coupon extension safe?

It can be, but it may be able to read data on every site you visit, so check the permissions screen and install only tools you trust.

Can I use a coupon app and a cash back app together?

Often yes, and some apps here say you can stack cash back on top of coupons. Check each store's terms.

Do coupon apps work on iPhone?

Some do. At least one app on this list works as a Safari extension on iPhone.

Why didn't my cash back show up?

Cash back usually needs the app to track your visit, so start from the app or extension and complete the order in the same tab.
