YouTube TV is cheaper and simpler: $82.99 a month for 100+ channels with no hidden fees. Fubo costs more, from $88.99 a month for Pro, and can add a regional sports fee of $3.99 to $16.99, but it carries local NBA, NHL and MLB games and lets you watch on up to 10 screens at home.
Both services are built for sport, both include unlimited cloud DVR and both keep recordings for 9 months. The differences are in price, screens and those regional sports networks that local team fans care about. All figures come from YouTube TV's and Fubo's own pages, checked in October 2026.

Fubo plans and prices
Fubo's plans page lists these live TV plans, as of Oct 2026:
| Fubo plan | Channels | First month | After that |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | 227 | $63.99 | $88.99 a month |
| Elite | 288 (4K included) | $68.99 | $98.99 a month |
| Elite with Sports Plus | Elite plus Sports Plus | $78.99 | $108.99 a month |
| Latino | 59 | $9.99 | $19.99 a month |
Every Pro, Elite and Elite with Sports Plus price carries the same footnote: an additional regional sports fee may apply, varying by region from $3.99 to $16.99 per month. That fee is what pushes Fubo well past YouTube TV for many people. For more detail on each tier, see the Fubo plans breakdown.
YouTube TV plans and prices
YouTube TV's sign-up page lists the main plan at $82.99 a month, Sports + News at $71.99 and the Sports Plan at $64.99. New users get the main plan for $59.99 a month for 2 months, or Sports + News for $49.99 a month for 5 months, with both offers ending on 16 November 2026.
The add-ons are where YouTube TV closes the gap with Fubo. 4K Plus costs $9.99 a month and unlocks unlimited streams at home, 4K on select shows and offline recordings. NFL RedZone with Sports Plus is $10.99 a month.
Which is better for your local team?
This is the deciding question for a lot of sports fans. Fubo's plans page says Pro and Elite include local NBA, NHL and MLB games, which usually come through regional sports networks. That's also why the regional sports fee exists.
YouTube TV's national lineup doesn't list regional sports networks, though it does carry NBA TV, NFL Network, the ESPN networks and the major locals. So if you mainly follow national games, YouTube TV is enough. If you follow one local NBA, NHL or MLB team every night, check both services with your ZIP code before choosing.
Before you compare channel counts, the YouTube TV side is listed in what each YouTube TV plan carries.
Trials and getting started
Both services let you start for $0. Fubo's trial has a few rules about early cancelling, which I cover in my Fubo free trial guide. YouTube TV lets eligible new users start for $0 too, and its help centre says you can switch plans during the trial.

My verdict
For most households YouTube TV is the better deal: it's cheaper at full price, it has no regional sports fee and its 100+ channels cover the national sports most people watch. Fubo earns its higher price if you follow a local NBA, NHL or MLB team, or if you want many screens at once without paying for an add-on. Do the sum with Fubo's fee for your region before deciding, because that's where the real gap shows.
If sports decide it for you, how YouTube TV handles ESPN is covered in YouTube TV and ESPN.
