Grokipedia is an online encyclopedia written and fact-checked by Grok, the AI model from xAI. It launched on 27 October 2025 as a rival to Wikipedia. The big difference is editing: you can't change an article yourself. You suggest a change, and Grok decides whether to approve it.
If you run a business, that editing model is the part that matters. When an AI writes the page about your company, your founder or your product, you don't get to fix a mistake directly. You have to persuade the AI, with sources.
I've built this from Grokipedia's own homepage and from the article Grokipedia publishes about itself, which I read in October 2026. Where a claim comes only from that self-written article, I say so.
Who runs Grokipedia
Grokipedia's own article says it was launched by xAI, the AI company founded by Elon Musk, and that SpaceX acquired xAI in February 2026. The site footer now reads SpaceXAI, and it links to Grok and x.ai. The encyclopedia lives at grokipedia.com and works in any web browser, including on your phone.

How articles get written
Grokipedia describes itself as an open, comprehensive collection of all knowledge, written and fact-checked by Grok and corrected by the people who read it. According to its own article, Grok generates the entries, pulls information from many sources and runs what its operators describe as fact-checking before anything goes live.
Readers can also ask for a topic that's missing through a Suggest an article page. Grok then researches the topic, writes it and checks it against sources before it's published.
How to suggest an edit on Grokipedia
- Open the article on grokipedia.com.
- Select the words that are wrong, then choose to suggest an edit.
- Change only what's wrong and keep the rest of the passage as it was.
- Explain why the change is needed and add a source. Grokipedia's own form says a source lets Grok verify the fix.
- Sign in to submit. If you're not signed in, Grokipedia saves your draft on that device until you are.
- Check your Activity page, which shows which of your edits were accepted.
The important detail is in that form: Grok is checking your change against evidence, not taking your word for it. A correction about your own business stands a far better chance if it points to something public, such as your own website, a press release or a registry listing.
What changed in Grokipedia version 0.3
Grokipedia's own article says version 0.3 arrived on 30 September 2026 with a new logo and a redesigned homepage. Featured articles now show as book covers you can flip through, the most-read list sits on a scrolling shelf of book spines, and there's a latest-edits tracker plus an improved live-edits page where you can watch Grok's decisions come in.
There's no app to download. Grokipedia's article says you can add it to your phone's home screen from the browser instead: on Android through the menu and Add to home screen, and on an iPhone through the share button and Add to Home Screen.
Why business owners should look themselves up
This is the bit I'd act on. Grokipedia's own article reports that The Guardian found an OpenAI model citing Grokipedia as a source in some answers in January 2026. In other words, what an AI encyclopedia says about you can flow into what AI assistants tell your future customers.
- Search grokipedia.com for your business name, your own name and your main product.
- Read the whole entry, including the dates, the founder details and anything about pricing or locations.
- Suggest a fix for anything wrong, with a public source for each change.
- Make sure your own website states the basic facts clearly, so there's something solid to cite.

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
The criticism you should know about
Grokipedia doesn't hide this. Its own article says the site has been criticised since launch for factual errors, alleged political bias and citations to low-credibility sources, and that Wikipedia editors deprecated it as a source in late 2025. It also reports that Grokipedia stopped processing suggested edits around April 2026 and resumed updating in late September 2026.
Its operators describe the system as truth-seeking and say the absence of open editing reduces human bias and vandalism. Independent reviews quoted in the same article are mixed. My advice is simple: don't treat any single AI-written page as gospel, and that includes the one about you.
Grokipedia vs Wikipedia: the practical difference
| Grokipedia | Wikipedia | |
|---|---|---|
| Who writes it | Grok, an AI model | Volunteer human editors |
| How you change a page | Suggest an edit for Grok to review | Edit the page under community rules |
| Edit history | Logs of suggestions and Grok's decisions since v0.2 | Full revision history with side-by-side changes |
| Rollback | No user rollback or revert | Rollback tools for experienced editors |
My verdict
Grokipedia is worth knowing about even if you never read it for fun, because it's another place where an AI decides what's true about you. Spend ten minutes searching for your name and your business, suggest sourced corrections where it's wrong, and keep the facts on your own website tidy so every AI has something accurate to work from.
