A Crypto Explainer Needs an Evidence File, Not Just a Fluent Edit

If you are skim reading
A neat carousel can make a weak financial explanation look finished. The numbers align, the typography is consistent and the caption sounds confident.

A neat carousel can make a weak financial explanation look finished. The numbers align, the typography is consistent and the caption sounds confident. None of that tells the reader whether the example describes the right contract, uses the right price or leaves out a condition that changes the result.

For a marketing team explaining liquidation, the first useful asset is therefore not the finished graphic. It is a reproducible scenario. An independent liquidation price calculator, such as BitcoinMargin's, can provide a concrete model to examine. Record its stated assumptions and the inputs used before turning an estimate into a headline. The model is the subject of the explanation, not evidence that a trade is safe.

Give every number a job

Start with a short internal description of the scenario. Is the example a long or short position? Is collateral isolated to that position, or shared across an account? Which contract and quote currency are being discussed? The content should answer those questions before it presents an estimated threshold.

Then separate quantities that often get compressed into the same graphic. Exposure describes the position's scale. Collateral supports it. A maintenance requirement is a condition for keeping it open. A liquidation estimate is not a planned exit, a probability of loss or a recommended level of leverage. Removing those distinctions saves space by changing the meaning.

Build a claim record beside the draft

For each factual sentence, save the source URL, the relevant passage and the date checked. Add a separate field for the limits of that source. A venue's explanation of one margin mode should not become a statement about every exchange merely because the shorter wording reads more smoothly.

Bybit's liquidation documentation illustrates why that boundary matters. It distinguishes a mark-price trigger in isolated margin from an account maintenance-margin test in cross and portfolio modes. Its displayed cross-margin liquidation price is a reference, not an independent promise about when a position closes. An editor who deletes the mode to simplify a caption can turn a sourced sentence into an unsupported one.

Keep this record with the original calculator scenario. The reader need not see a research spreadsheet, but whoever approves the content should be able to follow the explanation back to both its arithmetic assumptions and its product-specific source.

Review AI suggestions as suggestions

An AI tool can propose headings or shorten a paragraph. It can also introduce a precise-looking definition that was never present in the source material. NIST's Generative AI Profile identifies confidently presented incorrect content as a risk and recommends checking generated sources and citations.

A practical editorial response is to distinguish stylistic changes from factual changes. Replacing a long phrase with a shorter one may be harmless. Replacing an estimate with a guarantee is not. Check the revised sentence against the original evidence rather than asking whether the new version sounds knowledgeable. A source link also needs opening; a plausible title alone is not verification.

Check the cropped version separately

The website article, newsletter and social graphic may have different word limits. Each version still needs the qualifications that make its central claim true. If a caption retains only the calculator's output while dropping its assumptions, it is no longer a faithful summary of the exercise.

Return to the saved scenario after producing the graphic. Can another editor identify what was entered, which margin model was assumed and what costs were excluded? If not, change the layout or narrow the claim. Publishing fewer figures is preferable to presenting a number whose meaning depends on a paragraph the audience never sees.

End with understanding, not an invitation to trade

Educational content can explain why two estimates differ without telling the reader to open a leveraged position. The CFTC's virtual-currency advisory explains that leverage magnifies risk and losses can exceed the initial investment in the products it discusses. A polished design does not remove that exposure.

For the content team, the useful result is a clearer explanation with a traceable evidence file. Preserve the source record when updating the article, and revisit the short versions if a material assumption changes. The calculator example should leave readers better able to question a financial claim, not more willing to trust an unexplained number because it appears in a professional-looking post.
