Pinterest Predicts 2026: All 21 Trends and How to Use Them

Pinterest Predicts is Pinterest's yearly report of trends it expects to take off before they're mainstream, built from what people search for on Pinterest. The 2026 edition names 21 trends, from Poetcore and Neo Deco to Cabbage Crush and Darecations. Pinterest says it's based on global, English-language search data from September 2024 to August 2025, compared with the year before.

Pinterest calls it a "not-yet-trending" report, and that's the useful bit for a business. It tells you what people are starting to plan for, which gives you time to create content, products or offers before everyone else catches on.

Where the predictions come from

Every trend on Pinterest's page lists the searches behind it, with sourcing that reads: Pinterest internal data, English-language search data, global, comparing normalised searches from September 2024 to August 2025 with the year before. So these aren't guesses from a panel. They're early signals from what Pinterest users already save and search for.

Pinterest also tags each trend with the generations driving it, which is handy if you know who your customers are.

How to turn a trend into content and sales

Reading the list is the easy part. Here's how I'd put one to work if I ran a small business:

  1. Pick one or two trends that fit what you already sell. A florist might take Opera Aesthetic or FunHaus; a stationery shop has Pen Pals handed to it; a cafe could play with Cabbage Crush.
  2. Use Pinterest's own search phrases. The example searches in the table are the words people type. Use them in Pin titles, descriptions and board names.
  3. Make a board for the trend. Save your own Pins next to related inspiration so Pinterest understands the theme.
  4. Create a small offer around it. A themed bundle, a limited edition or a styled shoot gives people something to save and click.
  5. Check demand as you go. Pinterest Trends shows whether a search is still climbing in your country.

For that last step, my walkthrough of how to use Pinterest Trends shows how to compare search terms over time and by region.

Some of the 21 are niche. These three cross over into lots of industries, so they're a safe first pick:

  • Pen Pals. Pinterest describes a letter-writing comeback among Gen Z and Millennials. Stationers, gift shops, printers and even coffee brands can build around handwritten notes, stamps and snail mail gifts.
  • Cool Blue. An icy blue palette across fashion, beauty, drinks and weddings. Any business with a visual product can restyle a shoot or a seasonal range around it.
  • Darecations. Thrill-seeking travel, from river rafting to planning trips around big sporting events. Travel firms, outdoor gear sellers and event venues have an obvious hook.

Whichever you choose, use the trend name sparingly and the plain search phrases a lot. People search for "cute stamps", not for a trend label.

Pinterest Predicts versus Pinterest Trends

They're easy to confuse. Pinterest Predicts is an annual editorial report of trends Pinterest expects to grow. Pinterest Trends is an always-on tool where you look up search interest for any term. Use Predicts for ideas and Trends to check timing and whether the idea is taking off where your customers live.

Trend topics are also keyword ideas, and my guide to Pinterest SEO shows how to use them in your Pins.

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

Who gets the most from it

  • Product businesses in fashion, beauty, home, food and gifts, where most of the 21 trends sit.
  • Content creators and bloggers who want early topics to write about before the search results fill up.
  • Marketers planning campaigns for the year ahead and looking for a theme customers will recognise.
  • Travel and events businesses, thanks to Mystic Outlands, Darecations and Opera Aesthetic.

If you're weighing up whether Pinterest deserves your time at all, my honest take on whether Pinterest is still worth it for small business covers the pros and cons.

My verdict

Pinterest Predicts is one of the most useful free trend reports out there, because it's built on what people search for rather than on opinion. Don't chase all 21. Pick the one or two that suit your business, borrow Pinterest's search phrases for your Pins, and start early. The whole point of a not-yet-trending report is to be in position before the crowd arrives.
