Best Subscription Manager Apps (2026): 10 Trackers Compared

The best subscription manager apps show every recurring payment in one list, remind you before renewals and free trials end, and help you cancel what you don't use. Some connect to your bank to find subscriptions for you, while others let you add each one yourself. Ten options follow in no particular order.

Streaming services, software, apps, the gym and that free trial you meant to cancel. Subscriptions are designed to be easy to start and easy to forget, and the small monthly amounts are exactly why they slip through.

The ten apps below are listed alphabetically and in no particular order, and every description comes from the app's own website, read this week. If most of your subscriptions are AI tools, my honest look at auditing every AI tool I pay for shows how quickly they add up.

Subscription manager apps at a glance

I checked the free plan column on each tool's own website, as of Oct 2026. Yes means the site names a free plan, a free version, a free allowance or an open source version. Trial only means a time-limited trial. Not stated means the pages I read named neither, even where there's a button inviting you to start for free, so check the vendor's page before you sign up.

What your bank can stop in the UK

The Direct Debit Guarantee says you can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. It also says you should let the organisation know.

Work with me

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

That's an important detail. An app can show you what you're paying for and remind you before it renews, but cancelling the payment doesn't end the contract itself, so cancel with the company as well as stopping the payment.

Bank-connected apps versus manual trackers

Bank-connected apps scan your transactions and find recurring payments for you. They're quicker to set up and catch subscriptions you'd completely forgotten, but you're sharing access to your account data.

Manual trackers never see your bank. You add each subscription yourself, which takes ten minutes at the start, and in return you keep your financial data private while still getting reminders before each charge.

Questions to ask before you choose a subscription tracker

  1. Do I want to connect my bank account or not?
  2. Does it work with banks in my country?
  3. Will it remind me before free trials end?
  4. Can it help me cancel, or only track?
  5. Can I track business and personal subscriptions separately?
  6. Does it work on my phone and computer?

Signs your subscriptions need a tidy-up

  • You don't recognise a charge. Find out what it's for today.
  • A free trial turned into a payment. Track trials from day one.
  • You pay for two tools that do the same job. Keep one.
  • Renewal emails go to an old inbox. Update your email address.

My plain advice on choosing a subscription manager

Before you download anything, open your last three bank statements and highlight every recurring payment. Most people find at least one they'd forgotten, and doing it once by hand tells you whether you need a bank-connected app or whether a simple reminder list will do.

Then set one rule: every new free trial goes into your tracker the day you start it. If you've been eyeing a bank-connected app, my article on whether a popular bank-connected tracker is legit covers what to check before you link an account.

Frequently asked questions

What is a subscription manager app?

A subscription manager app keeps a list of your recurring payments, shows what's renewing next and reminds you before charges or free trials end.

Are subscription manager apps free?

Several have free plans or free versions, and others offer trials. The free plan column above shows what each app's own site says.

Can an app cancel my subscriptions for me?

Some apps offer help with cancelling, but many only track and remind. You may still need to cancel with the company yourself.

Is it safe to connect my bank to a subscription app?

Bank-connected apps use your account data to find subscriptions. If you'd rather not share it, choose a manual tracker that never sees your bank.

Can I cancel a Direct Debit through my bank?

Yes. The Direct Debit Guarantee says you can cancel at any time by contacting your bank or building society, and you should tell the organisation too.

How do I find all my subscriptions?

Check your bank and card statements, your app store subscriptions and your email for receipts. A tracker then keeps the list up to date.
