YouTube TV Cost: Plans, Intro Offers and Add-Ons Explained

As of October 2026, YouTube TV costs $82.99 a month for its main plan, which YouTube calls the plan with 100+ channels. It also sells a Sports Plan at $64.99 a month and a Sports + News Plan at $71.99 a month, with intro offers for new users.

YouTube TV is a live TV service for the US, so you're paying for cable style channels streamed over the internet rather than a library like Netflix. The price looks high next to on demand apps, but one membership covers up to 6 household accounts. Here's exactly what each plan and add-on costs, straight from YouTube TV's own page.

YouTube TV plans and prices

These are the regular monthly prices YouTube TV lists, as of October 2026, in US dollars.

PlanRegular priceWhat it's for
YouTube TV (main plan)$82.99 a month100+ channels: news, entertainment and local sports
Sports + News Plan$71.99 a monthA sports and news lineup, available nationwide
Sports Plan$64.99 a month30+ channels of live games, analysis and news

YouTube TV says there are no hidden fees, equipment rentals or long term contracts, and you can cancel, pause or switch plans whenever you like. A valid payment method is needed at sign up.

The intro offers, and the catch

New users can pay less for a few months, but only for a limited window. YouTube TV's terms say:

  • Main plan: new users pay $59.99 a month for 2 months, then $82.99 a month. YouTube TV says that's a total saving of $46.
  • Sports + News Plan: new users pay $49.99 a month for 5 months, then $71.99 a month, a total saving of $110.
  • Both offers end on November 16, 2026.
  • Both carry the line: no refunds, cancel anytime.

That no refunds line matters. If you sign up on the offer and change your mind halfway through a month, you won't get that month back. Cancelling stops the next charge, so set a reminder for the day before your billing date if you're only testing it.

What one membership includes

The membership price covers more than a single person. YouTube TV lists these as part of the main plan:

  • Up to 6 household accounts on one membership, with 3 streams at once.
  • Unlimited cloud DVR space, so you can record as much as you want.
  • National and local networks, plus on demand movies and shows.
  • Apps on many streaming devices and smart TVs, including select Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung and LG models.

Your local channels depend on your home ZIP code, so check your area's lineup on YouTube TV's page before you pay. If you're setting up your family, here's how to add family members to YouTube TV.

YouTube TV add-on prices

Add-ons sit on top of your plan and are charged separately. YouTube TV lists these starting prices, as of October 2026, and notes that prices vary:

Add-onPriceWhat you get
4K Plus$9.99 a month4K on select content, unlimited streams at home, offline recordings
NFL RedZone with Sports Plus$10.99 a month13+ extra sports networks including NFL RedZone
Spanish networks$14.99 a monthExtra Spanish language channels
Entertainment Plus$29.99 a monthHBO Max, Paramount+ with Showtime and Starz together
Premium channelsFrom $1.99 a monthAdd-ons like ALLBLK, MGM+ and Shudder

NFL Sunday Ticket is a separate purchase on top of a YouTube TV plan, and YouTube says you lose access to it if you cancel YouTube TV. That's worth knowing before you buy the season.

Which YouTube TV plan should you pick?

The three plans are built for different households, and the cheapest one isn't always the smart choice.

Work with me

Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?

I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.

  • Main plan at $82.99: the right pick if you want cable style variety, from news and entertainment to local sports, for a whole family.
  • Sports + News at $71.99: suits a household that mostly watches live games and the news, and the intro offer makes the first 5 months cheaper.
  • Sports Plan at $64.99: the lowest price, focused on 30+ channels of live games, analysis and sports news. It's the one for fans who don't watch much else.

Remember that YouTube TV lets you switch plans at any time, so you can start on the Sports Plan during the season and move to the main plan later if the family wants more channels.

How to keep your YouTube TV bill down

  1. Check your ZIP code lineup first, so you know which local channels you'll get.
  2. Pick the Sports Plan if you only watch live games, as it's the cheapest of the three.
  3. Use the new user offer if you're eligible, but note the date it ends and that there are no refunds.
  4. Add 4K Plus only if you own a 4K TV and watch sports in 4K.
  5. Pause or cancel in the off season, as YouTube TV lets you do either without a contract.

My verdict

YouTube TV is good value if it replaces a cable bill for a whole household, because one membership covers 6 accounts and unlimited DVR. If you only want live sports, start with the Sports Plan at $64.99 rather than the full plan. And if you're tempted by the intro price, write down when it ends: after 2 months the main plan goes back to $82.99, and that's the number to budget for.
