The best AI presentation maker is one that turns your notes into clear slides quickly and works with the tools your audience already uses. Some build a whole deck from a prompt, others add AI to slides you already have, and many have a free plan. This page lists ten in no particular order, then shows how to get a deck you'd present.
Most bad presentations aren't badly designed. They're badly thought through: too many words, no clear point and a final slide that just says thank you. AI can make slides look tidy in seconds, but it still needs you to know what you want people to remember.
These ten AI presentation makers are in no particular order, sorted alphabetically, from free online software to add-ons for slide tools you already use. Each description comes from the tool's own website, re-checked today. If you'd rather stick with a free option, my round-up of free tools that build slides from a prompt goes further on what free plans include.

Check PowerPoint's own Designer before anything else
Before you add another tool, look at what you've already got. Microsoft Support's page on Designer in PowerPoint says Designer improves slides for people with a Microsoft 365 subscription by generating design ideas you can choose from.
It also says that if Designer doesn't appear, you need to check that 'Turn on optional connected experiences' is selected in your Account Privacy settings. So if you can't see it, that's the first place to look.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
What it means for you: if your team already lives in PowerPoint, a separate AI presentation maker has to earn its place. It should be faster at turning rough notes into a structure, offer templates that suit your brand, or make sharing and presenting easier. If it only makes slides look nicer, the built-in tool may be enough.
Prompt-to-deck tools or AI inside your slide app
Some of these tools build a whole presentation from a prompt or a block of text, in their own editor. Others work inside Google Slides or PowerPoint, which matters if your company templates and shared drives already live there. A third group focuses on teaching and audience interaction.
Ask where the finished deck lives, who can edit it, and whether you can export it to PowerPoint or PDF without the layout falling apart. Those three answers matter more than how clever the first draft looks. If your team works in Google's slide app, my walkthrough of Gemini's slide tools shows what's already built in there.
Turning an AI draft into a deck you'd present
- Write the one sentence you want the audience to remember before you open any tool.
- Give the AI your outline or notes, not just a topic, so the structure is yours.
- Cut every slide to one idea and move the extra words into speaker notes.
- Swap generic images and icons for your own charts, photos or screenshots.
- Check every fact and number the AI added, because it can invent them.
- Rehearse once out loud and delete any slide you skip over.
What free AI presentation plans tend to hold back
Free plans here range from free forever to a monthly allowance of credits or AI presentations. Watch for limits on the number of slides, branding on exports, export formats and whether you can use your own fonts and colours. A trial is different again: you get the full product for a week or two, so prepare a real deck to build in that window.
Do you make AI presentation software? Tool makers can ask to be considered for a featured place on this list.
My plain advice on AI presentation makers
Check PowerPoint's Designer or your current slide tool first. If it does the job, you've saved yourself another login. If you need decks built from notes in minutes, try two of the free plans or trials with the same real outline and compare the results side by side.
Whichever you choose, treat the AI's deck as a first draft. The structure, the facts and the one thing you want people to remember are still your job, and they're what make a presentation land.
Frequently asked questions
Can AI make a whole presentation for me?
Many tools can build a full deck from a prompt or text. You'll still need to check the facts, tighten the words and add your own examples.
Is there a free AI presentation maker?
Yes. Several tools describe a free plan, free tier or free forever plan, usually with limits on credits, slides or AI presentations each month.
Does PowerPoint have AI design built in?
Yes. Microsoft Support says Designer generates design ideas for people with a Microsoft 365 subscription, and explains which privacy setting to check if it doesn't appear.
Can I use AI inside Google Slides?
Yes. Some tools work inside Google Slides and PowerPoint, so you can keep your existing files and templates.
Are AI-made slides good for teaching?
They can be. Some tools are built for lessons and interactive presentations, though you'll want to check accuracy and reading level.
How many slides should a presentation have?
As few as it takes to make your point. One idea per slide is a better guide than any set number.
