X (formerly Twitter) does not offer a dedicated watch history page like YouTube. You can find recently viewed videos through your device's X app activity, the For You feed, and your Likes or Bookmarks if you saved them. There is no built in list showing every video you have watched, and no setting currently lets you export or clear a video viewing log directly.
What people mean by Twitter watch history
When someone searches for Twitter watch history, they usually want one of two things. Either they want to find a video they watched recently and lost track of, or they want to stop X from tracking what they watch at all.
I will deal with both here, in order, because the fixes are different depending on what you are trying to do.
First, the plain truth. X does not have a single page labelled watch history where every video you have ever viewed sits in a neat list. That feature does not exist on the platform right now.
Check your Likes and Bookmarks first
Before anything else, check the obvious places. If you liked a video, it sits in your Likes tab on your profile. If you bookmarked it, it is in your Bookmarks tab.
These are the closest thing X has to a saved history, but they only work if you tapped like or bookmark at the time.
- Open your profile
- Tap Likes to see everything you have liked, including videos
- Tap Bookmarks to see anything you saved on purpose
- Scroll back through dates to narrow down when you watched it
If the video is not in either of these, you will need to try a different route.
Search your own activity
You can try the search bar to track down a video you remember watching. Search for keywords from the caption, the account name if you recall it, or a hashtag that was attached to the post.
This will not show you a history as such, but it can surface the original post if it is still live and you remember enough detail.
This works best soon after watching something, while the keywords are still fresh in your mind.
Look at your For You and Following feeds
The For You feed on X adapts based on what you engage with, including videos you watch. If you scroll back through your feed, you may spot the video again because the algorithm keeps showing similar content.
This is not a reliable method and I would not count on it. Feeds refresh constantly and there is no guarantee a specific video will reappear.
If you follow the account that posted the video, checking their profile directly and scrolling their posts is usually faster.
Check your device for downloaded or saved clips
If you downloaded a video from X using a third party tool or screen recording, it will sit in your phone or computer's own storage, not inside the X app.
Check your camera roll, downloads folder, or screenshots app. This has nothing to do with X's own systems, but it is often where people find the clip they were after.
I am not going to recommend specific download tools here, since X's terms do not support downloading content that is not yours to redistribute.
Managing what X knows about your activity
If your concern is the opposite, meaning you want to limit what X tracks about your viewing habits, go to your settings.

Under Privacy and Safety, you can review Ads Preferences and Data Sharing settings. These control some of what X uses to personalise your feed and ads based on your activity, including video views.
- Open Settings and Privacy
- Go to Privacy and Safety
- Select Ads Preferences
- Review and adjust what data is used to personalise ads
This will not delete a history log, because there is not one to delete in the way there is on video platforms built around that feature. It simply limits some data use going forward.
What X currently cannot do
I want to be plain about this rather than vague. X does not currently offer a watch history export, a chronological list of every video viewed, or a one tap clear history button for video views specifically.
If you are coming from YouTube or TikTok, where watch history is a built in, visible feature, X works differently. Your record of activity is scattered across Likes, Bookmarks, and your own memory of what you searched or who posted it.
I am not going to suggest workarounds or third party browser extensions claiming to recover X watch history. I have not seen reliable evidence that these work safely, and I would rather say that plainly than send you chasing something that might not deliver.
A simple habit going forward
If finding videos again is a recurring problem for you, build a small habit instead of relying on search. Bookmark anything you think you might want again, even if you are not sure yet.
Create a simple system: bookmark for later viewing, like for things you want public, and screenshot the poster's handle if you are in a rush and cannot do either.
This takes two seconds at the time and saves a lot of frustrated searching later. It is the most reliable fix available right now, given what the platform offers in 2026.

Frequently asked questions
Does X have a watch history feature like YouTube?
No. X does not currently have a dedicated page listing every video you have watched in order. The closest options are your Likes and Bookmarks tabs, which only work for content you saved at the time.
Can I recover a video I watched but did not save?
Sometimes, by searching keywords from the caption or checking the original account's profile. There is no guaranteed way to recover it if you did not like, bookmark, or remember enough detail about it.
Can I clear my watch history on X?
There is no watch history log to clear in the way there is on other platforms. You can adjust Ads Preferences in Privacy and Safety settings to limit how your activity is used, but this does not delete a visible history.
Is there a way to export my X viewing data?
X does not currently offer an export feature specifically for video viewing activity. Some general account data can be requested through settings, but it will not give you a clean list of watched videos.
