Flight Club is a real sneaker store with shops in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Tokyo, and its site says it has been a sneaker destination since 2005. The catch is returns: its own page offers refunds as site credit, only on new pairs, within 30 days, and US buyers may pay a return processing fee. Read that page before you buy.
Paying a lot for a pair of trainers makes you want to be sure the seller is real. I get asked whether Flight Club is legit, and my honest view is that the store itself is well established, while the details that catch people out are in the returns rules. everything below comes from Flight Club's own shipping, returns and consign pages.
What Flight Club is and where its stores are
Flight Club's consign page says it has been a sneaker destination since 2005. Its site lists four retail stores, in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Tokyo, and the footer names the company as Flight Club New York LLC. It sells sneakers on its site and in those shops, and the consign page says that when you sell with Flight Club, your sneakers are listed across its retail stores and online.
I couldn't confirm who owns Flight Club from its own pages. The only hint is a careers link that goes to a group site, which isn't an ownership statement, so I won't say more than that.
How authentication works at Flight Club
This is the question most people really want answered, and the pages I read don't describe an authentication process in detail. The shipping page does say that its 'Lowest Price' orders ship to Flight Club first for verification, and that they typically take 7-12 business days to reach the 48 contiguous states. Its returns page also treats a defective or inauthentic item as an exception to the Final Sale rule, so you have a route if something is wrong. I can't tell you how a pair is checked, and I'd rather say so than guess.
Flight Club delivery times and shipping
The page says delivery times are estimates and not promised. It offers a slower route, 'Lowest Price', where the pair goes to Flight Club first, and a quicker 'Fastest To You' route, with shorter times for orders placed early in the day. Store pickup orders must be collected within 14 days of the delivery notice. If you need shoes for an event, build in a safe margin.
The Flight Club return policy in plain English
This is the part to read twice. Flight Club's returns page says:
- You have 30 days from receipt to submit a return request, and problems must be reported within the same 30 days.
- Only New In Box and New No Box purchases made on Flightclub.com qualify.
- Items must be in the condition shipped, with original tags and packaging, and no sole wear.
- Claims are not honoured once the Flight Club hang tag has been removed.
- Returns need the Flight Club return label and packing slip.
In other words, if you try a pair on and it doesn't fit, check the wording before you take the tag off or wear them around the house.
Flight Club refunds: site credit and fees
Refunds are the surprising bit. The page says refunds are issued as site credit, minus outbound and return shipping costs and any priority processing fee paid. Site credit can only be used on Flightclub.com, and US buyers may be charged a return processing fee of up to 15 percent of the item's price. So a return can leave you with less than you paid, and a credit you can only spend in one place. Work out the worst case before you buy an expensive pair.
Items Flight Club says can't be returned
The page lists Final Sale items as not returnable. They include apparel, special items such as Vintage, Sample, ID, Custom, Defect and Pre-Release, used items and in-store purchases. The exceptions are a defective or inauthentic item, or where the law requires otherwise. If you're buying something that's labelled with any of those terms, assume it's final.
Selling sneakers through Flight Club
If you came here wanting to sell, note what the consign page says: Flight Club no longer supports new seller registrations, and new sellers are directed to alias, an app the company created for the seller experience. Existing sellers can still log in to manage listings. I haven't looked at alias's terms. If you sell on other sites, my guides to whether Fashionphile is legit and how much Vinted takes from sellers show how fees compare.

Spotting fake Flight Club sites
Sneaker shoppers are targeted by copycat sites with huge discounts. Type the address yourself, check that the name matches Flight Club New York LLC, and be wary of any site selling limited pairs far below the normal price. Pay by a method that gives you recourse, and keep screenshots of the order page. If someone is pressuring or threatening you, report it and, if you're in danger, contact the police.

Is Flight Club worth buying from?
Flight Club is a real, established store with a clear returns page. It's not the most forgiving place to change your mind, because refunds come as site credit and fees can apply. If you're sure of your size, the style and the price, that may not matter. If you're unsure, think about the return rules before you pay.
