Is FlightHub Legit? Fees, Refunds and What Regulators Said (2026)

FlightHub is a real Canadian online travel agency, not an airline, and its own terms say cancelling or changing depends on the airline's fare rules plus FlightHub's fees. It has a public history too: in 2021 Canada's Competition Bureau announced penalties over hidden fees and fake reviews. If you book, read the fees and refund rules first.

Cheap flights tend to make me nervous, because the headline price isn't always the final one. FlightHub comes up a lot when people search for deals, so it's fair to ask whether FlightHub is legit before you hand over your card details. I've read FlightHub's own terms, the Competition Bureau's published findings and Wikipedia's background, so you can see both the reassuring facts and the awkward ones.

Who runs FlightHub

This is an online travel agency. That means you're buying through a go-between, not from the airline directly. Wikipedia says its sister site Justfly.com is a subsidiary of FlightHub Group, a company founded in 2012 in Montreal, Canada, and that Justfly.com was created in 2014 to offer travel options to American consumers. So this is a real, identifiable company with a long-standing base in Canada.

Being real isn't the same as being cheap or perfect, though, and I think the sensible approach is to understand what the agent does and what the airline does before you book.

What the Competition Bureau found about FlightHub

This part deserves a straight answer because it's on the public record. In 2021, Canada's Competition Bureau announced that its investigation of FlightHub ended with 5.8 million dollars in total penalties: 5 million for the company and 400,000 each for two directors. The Bureau said FlightHub charged hidden fees, posted fake positive reviews, and made false or misleading claims about prices and services.

The settlement bars FlightHub and the two directors from further false or misleading claims for 10 years. The Bureau also said it took into account that FlightHub was insolvent and had been granted creditor protection by the Quebec Superior Court in 2020. Earlier, in 2019, the Bureau obtained a temporary consent agreement, which it described as the first of its kind during an ongoing investigation.

I'm not telling you what the company does today. I'm telling you what a regulator published, and why it makes sense to check the total price on the final screen before you pay. If you're planning a work trip, my piece on staying safe in hotels is a useful companion once the flight is booked.

FlightHub bookings: agent rules and airline rules

FlightHub's Canadian terms say bookings can't be cancelled or changed and are non-refundable, unless the order or the terms say otherwise. They also say your ability to cancel, change or get a refund is subject to the Travel Service Provider's additional terms, including airline fare rules. In plain English: the airline's rules decide the baseline, and FlightHub adds its own fees on top.

  • Read the fare rules shown at checkout, not just the price.
  • Check whether the ticket is refundable before you confirm.
  • Save your confirmation and the booking reference the airline gives you.
  • Look for the airline's own booking code, so you can check the reservation on the airline's site.

Cancelling a FlightHub flight and the 24-hour question

FlightHub's terms say airline tickets may be eligible for a refund if you cancel on the same day you buy or within 24 hours, depending on the airline's own rules. They also say FlightHub's fees still apply. So even the friendliest window isn't free of charges, and it won't help if you notice a mistake days later.

The terms add that FlightHub depends on the airlines for the refunds you request, and that processing can take an extended period. If timing matters, don't plan to spend refund money you haven't received yet.

Getting help from FlightHub

The company says its team of agents is available 24/7. For a flight problem, I'd contact the agent first, keep a written record of what you were told, and check the airline's own site for your booking status. If a change is urgent, such as a cancelled flight on the day, the airline is often the quickest route to a rebooking, so use both.

Spotting fake FlightHub sites and calls

Travel brands get copied a lot. A few habits help:

  • Type the address into your browser rather than clicking an advert or a promoted result.
  • Be wary of any phone number that turns up in a pop-up or a social media comment.
  • Never pay a booking by gift card, bank transfer or payment app to someone on the phone.
  • Check emails by logging in to your own booking, not by clicking links in a message.
  • Pay with a method that gives you dispute rights, and tell your card provider quickly if something looks wrong.

Is FlightHub worth using?

FlightHub is a real agent with a long public record, and some of that record is uncomfortable. If you do book, compare the final price against the airline's own site, read the cancellation and fee terms before you confirm, and keep every confirmation. For flights where flexibility matters, buying directly from the airline is usually simpler to change. That's a judgement call, not a rule, and your own trip will decide it.
