To add Linktree to TikTok, copy your URL with Share in your Linktree admin, then open the TikTok app, tap Edit profile, paste it into the Website field and tap Save. Linktree's guide says personal accounts need 1,000 or more followers, while business accounts can add one at any follower count.
TikTok gives you one clickable link, and where it points decides whether a viewer who loved your video turns into a customer or just scrolls on. A Linktree turns that single link into a small menu: your shop, your booking page, your newsletter, your latest video. It's one of the quickest fixes to stop losing people at the finish line.
The catch is that the link field doesn't show up for everybody. I'll walk you through the steps as Linktree's own guide describes them, then the eligibility rules and what to do when the field isn't there. TikTok changes its menus often, so check the labels in your own app as you go.
Copying your Linktree URL first
Before you open TikTok, you need the address to paste. According to Linktree's guide, you open your Linktree admin and tap Share at the top right, which copies your Linktree URL. It will look like linktr.ee followed by your username.
Make sure your Linktree is published and not set to private, or visitors will click through to a page they can't see.
Adding your Linktree to your TikTok bio in the app
Linktree's guide says this has to be done in the TikTok mobile app. Bio links can't be added from a desktop browser. The steps:
- Open the TikTok app on your phone.
- Tap your profile icon at the bottom right.
- Tap Edit profile.
- Paste your Linktree URL into the Website field.
- Tap Save at the top right.
Paste the whole address, starting with linktr.ee, into the Website field, not into the bio text. A link typed into the bio text won't be clickable. That's the single most common mistake I see, and it's the reason people say their link doesn't work.
Who can add a link to their TikTok bio
This is where the Website field goes missing for people. Linktree's guide describes two cases, and TikTok's rules can change, so treat this as a guide rather than a promise:
| Account type | What Linktree's guide says |
|---|---|
| Business account | Any follower count works, but TikTok may ask for proof of business registration under 1,000 followers |
| Personal account | You need 1,000 or more followers, and then the Website field appears |
The guide doesn't say which documents TikTok accepts as proof of business registration, so look at TikTok's own help centre if it asks you for something.
If the Website field is missing on TikTok
Work through these in order. Linktree's guide suggests each of them:
- Switch to a business account. In TikTok, go to Settings and privacy, then Account, then Switch to Business Account, and choose a category. Then go back to Edit profile and look for the field.
- Make sure you're using the mobile app, not a browser.
- Update TikTok. An older app version may not show the field. Update it from the App Store or Google Play.
- As a stopgap, type a short address such as linktr.ee/yourname into your bio text. It won't be clickable, but people can copy it.
Switching account type has knock-on effects for your profile, so read TikTok's own help on business accounts before you do it. If you're thinking about making your account look more established, my guide to getting verified on TikTok explains what that involves.
Why a Linktree suits a TikTok profile
TikTok allows only one clickable bio link, so a Linktree acts as the hub for everything else you want people to find. That makes more sense for some businesses than others:
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
- A shop owner can point to their products, a size guide and a contact page.
- A coach can link their booking calendar, a free guide and a testimonial video.
- A creator can list their latest video, newsletter and a brand-enquiry page.
Keep the page short. Five or six links beat twenty, because someone arriving from a fifteen-second video doesn't want a library. Put the thing you most want clicked at the top and mention it in your video, for example by saying the link's in your bio. If you're comparing options, my round-up of link in bio tools for Instagram and TikTok lines up the alternatives.
Checking your Linktree link works on TikTok
After you save, view your profile as a visitor would. Tap the link from your own profile, or ask a friend to. Check three things:
- The link is clickable, not plain text.
- It opens your Linktree and not an error page.
- Your top link is the one you want people to see first.
If TikTok shows a warning when someone taps the link, Linktree has a help article about why Instagram or TikTok may warn about a Linktree. It's worth reading before you assume something's broken.
Keeping your TikTok bio link up to date
A bio link goes stale quickly. Put a reminder in your diary to look at it once a month. Remove anything that's finished, add new offers, and check each link still opens the right page. If you change your Linktree username later, your address changes too, so you'll need to paste the new one into your TikTok profile.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add Linktree to TikTok?
Copy your Linktree URL by tapping Share in your Linktree admin, then open TikTok on your phone, tap Edit profile, paste the URL into the Website field and tap Save.
Why can't I add a link to my TikTok bio?
Per Linktree's guide, personal accounts need 1,000 or more followers for the Website field to appear. Business accounts can add one at any follower count, though TikTok may ask for proof of business registration under 1,000 followers.
Can I add Linktree to TikTok from a computer?
Linktree's guide says bio links can't be added from a desktop browser. Use the TikTok mobile app.
Why isn't my Linktree link clickable on TikTok?
A link pasted into the bio text won't be clickable. Paste the full address into the Website field instead. If the field is missing, your account may not meet TikTok's requirements.
Is more than one link allowed on TikTok?
TikTok allows only one clickable bio link, so a Linktree is the usual way to share several links from that one spot.
