Science blogs that accept guest posts are fewer than you'd expect, and they're demanding. On my list, re-checked live in September 2026, 45 sites are tagged science: 37 were live and 20 had a domain authority of 40 or more. Examples include serc.carleton.edu, asianscientist.com and blogs.egu.eu. Check each site's current guidelines before you pitch.
Science blogs are run by people who care about getting things right: researchers, science communicators, universities, societies and enthusiasts who read papers for fun. Many welcome outside writers, because good science writing is hard to find, but they check every claim.
The niche also covers environment and green living, which is where many businesses find a fit: renewable energy, recycling, sustainable products and climate tech all have a home here, as long as the science holds up.
This page pulls the science sites out of my free list of websites that accept guest posts, which I re-checked site by site in September 2026.
How many science blogs on my list still accept guest posts?
| Measure | Count |
|---|---|
| Science sites on my list | 45 |
| Live when checked | 37 |
| Live with DA 40 or more | 20 |
| Dead or parked | 8 |
Fewer than one in five science sites was dead or parked. Universities and societies keep their blogs running, which helps. Just over half of the live sites had a domain authority of 40 or more.

The category also includes a few very large tech and news publishers that cover science among many other topics, which I've left out of the examples. Guidelines change, so read each site's current write for us page before you pitch.
Research, space, engineering or the environment?
Science sites tend to specialise. The main groups on my list are:
- Research and education sites want posts that explain new findings or teach a concept clearly.
- Space and earth science sites want posts on astronomy, geology, oceans and climate.
- Engineering and technology sites want practical posts on electrical systems, energy and new inventions.
- Environment and green living sites want posts on sustainability, recycling and cleaner energy.
Green products and energy businesses fit best on the environment sites. Research tools and lab suppliers suit the research and engineering sites, where a technical angle is welcome.
What do science editors want?
Evidence. Science editors want claims backed by published research, with the source named and described correctly. Don't overstate a single study, don't confuse correlation with cause and don't round a finding up into a headline it doesn't support.
They also want clarity. The best science writing explains something hard in plain words without getting it wrong. If you can do that, and you have a science background or work in the field, editors will be glad to hear from you.
Free guest post or sponsored post on a science blog?
Many science blogs accept free posts from researchers and science writers, though university and society blogs often only publish people connected to them. Sponsored posts are rarer here than in other niches, and they're most common on the environment and green living sites.
How do you check a science blog before you pitch?
- Search site:domain.com. If very few pages come up, move on.
- Read the three newest posts. Is the site still publishing, and who writes for it?
- Check the sources in recent posts. A science blog that links to real research is worth far more than one that links to nothing.
- Find a name. A real editor you can email beats a form that never replies.
- Ask if posts are permanent. Some sites prune old content in clean-ups.
There's more in how to check backlink quality and my guide to high DA guest posting sites. Science topics often overlap with tech and health, so my technology blogs that accept guest posts and health blogs that accept guest posts pages are useful places to widen your search.
How should you pitch a science blog?
Lead with the finding and why it matters to the reader. "What new research on microplastics means for the water you drink at home" is a pitch. "An article about plastic" is not. Name the study or the field, and say who you are.
Keep your link to something that adds to the science: a dataset, a detailed explainer, a tool readers can use. A link to a product page in the middle of an explanation will look like what it is.
Be ready for questions. Science editors often come back asking where a figure came from or whether a claim still holds, so keep your sources to hand and reply quickly. A writer who answers those questions well is the one they invite back.
Can you place a science post on my blog?
Sometimes, when it has a business angle: marketing a science or green business, explaining research to customers, or the data and tools that businesses use. lilachbullock.com is a marketing blog that's been publishing since the dial-up days, with thousands of indexed articles, and my readers are business owners, marketers and entrepreneurs, mostly in the USA and the UK. Pure science writing suits the sites above better. Guidelines are on my science page.
How placing a post on my blog works
- Email [email protected], or start on my write for me page, with your target URL, topic and niche.
- I reply with whether it fits and which format I'd pick: a new sponsored post or a link insertion into an existing, indexed article.
- You send the article, or I choose the right existing article for your link.
- I edit, publish and send you the live URL.
Accepted posts usually go live within 24 to 48 hours of everything being agreed. Placements are permanent. I invoice by PayPal, and if you're an agency, I never contact your client.
If you're weighing up where to place a post, how buying a guest post on my blog works explains what you get and what I turn down.
