Art blogs that accept guest posts range from design magazines to small artist-run blogs. On my list, re-checked live in September 2026, 64 sites are tagged arts: 56 were live and 33 had a domain authority of 40 or more. Examples include archdaily.com, yankodesign.com and thisiscolossal.com. Check each site's current guidelines before you pitch.

Arts sites are some of the most beautiful on the web, and some of the most selective. Many are curated by editors who choose every image with care, and they treat outside contributions the same way. If you're an artist, a gallery, a creative business or a brand that sells to creatives, there are good sites here, but you need to pitch like someone who belongs in the arts world.

This page pulls the arts sites out of my free list of websites that accept guest posts, which I re-checked site by site in September 2026.

About one in eight was dead or parked. The arts sites that survive tend to be well loved and well maintained, and the larger design publications carry high authority.

Which art blogs accept guest posts?

Twelve live arts and design sites from my list, with their domain authority when I checked:

  • archdaily.com: DA 86
  • yankodesign.com: DA 82
  • thisiscolossal.com: DA 77
  • contemporist.com: DA 74
  • design-milk.com: DA 69
  • commarts.com: DA 65
  • canadianart.ca: DA 57
  • theartblog.org: DA 53
  • artsprofessional.co.uk: DA 53
  • dailyartmagazine.com: DA 51
  • beautifulbizarre.net: DA 49
  • finearttips.com: DA 48

The category also includes general publishers and education sites with an arts section, which I've left out of the examples. Several of the design magazines above prefer project submissions to written articles. Guidelines change, so read each site's current write for us or submissions page before you pitch.

Fine art, design or the business of art?

Arts sites cover very different territory:

  • Fine art and gallery sites want exhibitions, artist profiles and critical writing.
  • Design and architecture sites want projects, products and the thinking behind them, usually with strong images.
  • Art technique and hobby sites want tutorials, materials guides and advice for learners.
  • Arts business and sector sites want funding, marketing and management advice for arts organisations.

Brands selling art supplies or creative tools fit best on technique sites. Agencies and software brands fit best on the arts business sites, where a practical marketing angle is welcome.

What do arts editors want?

High quality images with clear rights. Arts editors will ask who took each photo and whether you have permission to use it, and they expect artists to be credited by name. Never send someone else's work as an illustration without written permission.

They also want writing with a point of view. Arts readers don't need a description of what they can see. They want context: why the work matters, how it was made, what it says about the moment it was made in.

Free guest post or sponsored post on an art blog?

Many arts blogs accept free submissions of projects and articles, though curated design sites are selective and may not reply unless they're interested. Sponsored posts are faster and more predictable, and suit creative brands placing posts on a timeline. Some arts publications don't accept sponsored content at all, so check first.

How do you check an art blog before you pitch?

  • Search site:domain.com. If very few pages come up, move on.
  • Read the three newest posts. Is the site still publishing, and who writes for it?
  • Look at how they credit work. A site that credits artists carefully is one that readers trust.
  • Find a name. A real editor you can email beats a form that never replies.
  • Ask if posts are permanent. Some sites prune old content in clean-ups.

How should you pitch an art blog?

Let the work lead. Put one strong image, or a link to a small set, near the top of your email, then a short paragraph on the story behind it. Arts editors decide with their eyes first, so make it easy for them to see what you're offering.

Keep the promotion light. A link to an artist's portfolio or a relevant course fits naturally. A post that exists mainly to sell a product will be turned down, and it may close the door for future pitches.

Follow up gently. Arts editors are often small teams or one person working around their own creative practice, so a single polite follow-up after a couple of weeks is fine. Several chasers in a row are not, and the arts world is small enough that editors talk to each other.

Can you place an art post on my blog?

Sometimes, when it has a business angle: marketing an art business, selling creative work online, branding for creatives or the tools artists use to run their business. lilachbullock.com is a marketing blog that's been publishing since the dial-up days, with thousands of indexed articles, and my readers are business owners, marketers and entrepreneurs, mostly in the USA and the UK. Art criticism and exhibition reviews suit the sites above better. Guidelines are on my culture and art page.

How placing a post on my blog works

  1. Email [email protected], or start on my write for me page, with your target URL, topic and niche.
  2. I reply with whether it fits and which format I'd pick: a new sponsored post or a link insertion into an existing, indexed article.
  3. You send the article, or I choose the right existing article for your link.
  4. I edit, publish and send you the live URL.

Accepted posts usually go live within 24 to 48 hours of everything being agreed. Placements are permanent. I invoice by PayPal, and if you're an agency, I never contact your client.

If you're weighing up where to place a post, how buying a guest post on my blog works explains what you get and what I turn down.
