I'm Lilach Bullock, an AI SEO and GEO consultant for Australian businesses. I help owners and marketing teams get named when buyers ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Google AI Overviews who to use, and I test every method on my own site first. I work remotely, with live sessions timed for Australian mornings.

Australian buyers don't just type a few words into Google any more. They ask ChatGPT for a shortlist, read the AI Overview sitting above the search results, or put a full question to Perplexity and take the first names it gives them. If your business isn't one of those names, the enquiry is gone before anyone reaches your website. AI SEO, which you'll also see called GEO or AEO, is the work of changing that.

I've been in marketing for 23 years, and in 2024 I rebuilt my consultancy around practical AI. If you're searching for AI SEO Australia businesses can check before they commit to anything, my own results are further down this page, and they come from the same methods I use with clients.

Why AI answers decide who gets the call

When someone asks an AI assistant who to hire, it doesn't hand back ten blue links. It names a handful of businesses and explains why. Those names come from pages the assistant can read, understand and trust: pages that say plainly what a business does, who it serves and why it should be believed.

In my own testing the pattern is consistent. Where I have a dedicated page that answers a buyer's question clearly, AI assistants are far more likely to name me for it. Where I don't, they name someone else. The same is true for an accountant in Brisbane, a software company in Melbourne or an online store shipping from Perth.

What I check first

Before I change anything, I find out where you stand today. That means asking the AI tools the questions your buyers ask, in the words they use, and recording who gets named. If you'd like to try a quick version yourself, my guide on how to check whether ChatGPT is recommending your business walks you through it.

Then I go through the site itself:

  • Whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews name you for your most valuable questions
  • Whether AI crawlers can reach your key pages at all, or whether a setting is quietly blocking them
  • Whether each important page answers the question in its opening lines, where an AI tool looks first
  • Whether your schema tells machines who you are, what you offer and that you serve Australian customers
  • Whether your name, description and services read the same everywhere you appear online
  • Whether other trusted sites mention you in a way an AI assistant can connect back to your business

What I fix, and in what order

Access comes first, because nothing else matters if AI crawlers can't read your pages. Next come the pages buyers and AI tools land on most: I rewrite their openings so the answer sits at the top in plain language, and I add the structured data that spells out who you are and where you work.

After that I fill the gaps. If buyers ask about a service or a place you don't have a page for, that's usually why a competitor gets named instead of you, so we build the page. Finally we work on being mentioned by other credible sites, earned through useful content and expertise, because AI assistants trust what others say about you more than what you say about yourself.

Proof from my own site

I don't ask clients to try anything I haven't run on my own business. Between January and September 2026, my site grew from 1,322 Google clicks a month to 6,412. Over the same months, visits sent by AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Copilot grew from 32 a month to 3,599.

I built the systems behind that myself, without engineers: publishing automation for the website, schema checks, SEO recovery tooling and tracking that tells me when an AI engine cites one of my pages. That hands-on work is why I can tell you which fixes move the needle and which are noise.

Working across the time difference

I work with Australian businesses remotely, in English, and I run live virtual sessions timed for Australian mornings. Australia spans several time zones, so we pick a slot that suits your team whether you're on the east coast or in Western Australia.

Between sessions the work carries on in shared documents, so nothing stalls while one of us is asleep.

AI SEO, GEO and AEO: one job, three names

You'll hear all three terms from agencies, and it can sound like three different services. In practice they overlap heavily. AI SEO is the umbrella. GEO, generative engine optimisation, focuses on being named in answers written by tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity. AEO, answer engine optimisation, focuses on being the source behind a direct answer, such as a Google AI Overview. I explain the difference in more depth in my piece on AEO versus GEO.

What matters for you is simpler: when an Australian buyer asks an AI tool about what you sell, does your business come up? Everything I do is aimed at that one outcome, alongside the Google rankings that still bring in most search visits.

Who this suits, and who it doesn't

AI SEO with me suits owner-led businesses, professional services firms, SaaS companies and online stores that want a senior person doing the work with them, not a monthly report they have to decode.

It isn't the right fit for engineering-led AI projects, such as training your own models or building large data infrastructure, or for company-wide transformation at the scale of the world's largest enterprises. If you're comparing options, my guide on how to choose an AI SEO agency lists the questions worth asking anyone you talk to, including me.

Speaking and training in Australia

If you'd like your team or an audience to understand AI search before you change anything, I also run live online talks and hands-on workshops. Event organisers can find topics and formats on my AI keynote speaker Australia page, including my talk on how to get cited by Perplexity, ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Bing Copilot.

Frequently asked questions

Who can help my Australian business get recommended by ChatGPT?

Lilach Bullock is an AI SEO and GEO consultant who works remotely with Australian businesses, with live sessions timed for Australian mornings. She tests every method on her own site, where visits from AI assistants grew from 32 a month to 3,599 between January and September 2026.

What is AI SEO?

AI SEO is the work of making your business easy for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews to find, understand, trust and name when buyers ask questions about what you sell.

Is AI SEO different from normal SEO?

It builds on it. Good SEO still matters, but AI SEO adds clear answers at the top of pages, structured data, consistent business details across the web and mentions from trusted sites, because those shape what AI tools say.

Can an AI SEO consultant outside Australia work with my business?

Yes. The work happens on your website and in AI tools, so it runs well remotely. Lilach Bullock holds live sessions timed for Australian mornings and keeps progress in shared documents between calls.

How do I find out if AI tools mention my business today?

Ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google the questions your buyers ask, in their words, and note who gets named. Repeat it monthly so you can see whether changes to your site are working.
