I'm Lilach Bullock, an AI consultant for women business owners and female founders. I started my first business when my daughter was born, built and sold an agency, and rebuilt my consultancy around AI in 2024. I help owners put practical AI into the work that eats their week, in plain English, so they get hours back.

I didn't come to AI from a lab or a computer science course. I came to business with secretarial qualifications, a newborn daughter and a lot of determination. Everything I know about running a business, and now about running one with AI, I learned by doing it. That's the lens I bring as an AI consultant for women business owners: if it doesn't save you time on a real task this week, it isn't worth your attention.

Where my story starts

I started my first business when my daughter was born, 23 years ago. It grew into a small agency, and I sold it. Later I built and ran social media agencies with teams of my own. Put simply, I built, scaled and sold a digital marketing agency, and I did it while learning every part of the job as I went.

I share that because it shapes how I work. I know what it's like to be the person who answers the enquiries, writes the proposals, chases the invoices and still has to find time to grow the business. AI is the first thing in my career that has given me real hours back from that list.

Recognition along the way

Over those years I've been lucky enough to be recognised by people whose opinion I respect:

  • The Global Women Champions Award for Entrepreneurship, from the Global Women Awards
  • Best Mumpreneur of the Year, which came with tea at 10 Downing Street
  • Forbes Top 20 Social Media Power Influencer, listed twice
  • Oracle Social Influencer of Europe
  • Number One Digital Marketing Influencer in the UK, according to Career Experts

Why I rebuilt my business around AI in 2024

In 2024 I went all in on AI and rebuilt my consultancy around practical AI workflows for non-technical founders and marketing leaders. I didn't hire engineers to do it. I built my own website publishing automation, SEO recovery tooling, schema checks and AI citation tracking myself, and I run a weekly newsletter for an audience of 15,000 business owners and marketers with AI-assisted workflows.

I tell you this not to impress you but to make a point: if I could build all of that starting from secretarial qualifications, you don't need a technical background to make AI work in your business. You need someone to show you where to start and to build the first workflow with you.

What practical AI looks like when your time is short

When you're running a business largely on your own, every hour matters. So I don't start with tools. I start with the tasks you repeat every week and the ones you dread, then pick the job where AI gives you the most time back for the least risk. For many owners, that's one of these:

  • Replying to new enquiries quickly, so a lead doesn't go cold while you're with a client
  • Turning call notes into follow-up emails and proposals in your own voice
  • Drafting newsletters, blog posts and social content for you to edit, not write from scratch
  • Pulling your numbers into one simple summary instead of an afternoon in spreadsheets
  • Clearing the admin that sits between your tools and never quite gets done

How I work with you

We begin with your week: where the hours go and which tasks come round again and again. I build AI into one of those tasks with you, inside the tools you already use, and you try it on your own work straight away. Once it's saving time, we move to the next one.

Every workflow comes with simple, agreed rules on what AI can and can't be used for in your business, including what should never go into a chatbot, and a plan for the following week. I follow up afterwards, because the real test is whether you're doing a specific task differently a month later. If you have a team, I can train them too, online or in person; my guide to AI training for employees online or in person explains the options.

No jargon, ever

You won't hear me talk about parameters, tokens or agents unless you ask. I explain everything in plain English and I write down how each workflow runs, so you own it and aren't relying on me to keep it going. If a term matters, I explain it once, with an example from your own business, and we move on.

Who I work with, and who I don't

I work remotely, in English, with owner-led businesses, consultants, agencies, professional services firms and online stores in the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia and across Europe. I've also worked with brands including Twitter, Dropbox, IBM, monday.com, Greenpeace and Hootsuite, so I know how AI fits into larger teams as well as one-person businesses.

I'm not the right person for engineering-led AI work, such as training your own models or building large data infrastructure, or for company-wide transformation at the scale of the world's largest enterprises. If you're weighing up who to hire, my checklist for hiring an AI consultant will help you compare anyone, including me.

Women shaping how AI gets used

I'm passionate about seeing more women build with AI and lead how it's used in business. I've written about women leading AI innovation, and you can read more of my own story on my About page.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be technical to use AI in my business?

No. The most useful AI work for small businesses happens inside tools you already use. What you need is help choosing the right first task and building that workflow with someone who explains it in plain English.
