Facebook doesn't publish a dirham rate per 1,000 views in the UAE; invited creators earn through Content Monetization based on qualified views, watch time and other factors Meta decides. The UAE is on Meta's country list, and posts in Arabic, English, Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali or Tagalog can qualify.
Creators in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah often ask me what Facebook pays per 1,000 views in the UAE, expecting a neat dirham figure. There isn't one, and I'd be wary of anyone who sells you one. What the UAE does have is an unusual audience mix that makes Meta's language rules more important than the view count itself. Let me walk you through it.
Can UAE creators join Facebook's paid programmes?
Yes. The United Arab Emirates is on Meta's list of countries and territories where Facebook Content Monetization is available, as is neighbouring Saudi Arabia. The UAE is also one of the 37 countries where Pages can turn on Facebook Subscriptions.
Content Monetization itself is invite-only. Invitations come through Meta's own channels: the Facebook app, email, Meta Business Suite or your Professional dashboard. If nothing has arrived, Meta has an interest form, though it says plainly that the form isn't an application. Some creators are brought in by approved agency partners through the Creator Fast Track. And Meta warns creators against clicking suspicious links that don't come from its official channels, so ignore any paid 'monetisation service' that turns up in your Messenger.
The UAE's multilingual audience and Meta's language list
This is the bit that makes the UAE different. Arabic is the official language, and Arabic is on Meta's supported list for Content Monetization. But foreigners make up 88.50% of the population, with Indians at 37.96%, Pakistanis at 16.72%, Bangladeshis at 7.38% and Filipinos at 6.1%.
Many UAE creators therefore post in Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, Bengali or Tagalog to reach those communities. Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali and Tagalog all appear on Meta's language list. Urdu is listed too, but with an asterisk that Meta's page doesn't explain in the text I could read, so if you post mainly in Urdu, check how your own posts are treated in your dashboard.
Posts in a language Meta doesn't support can be ruled out of payouts. So before you plan a series for a particular community in the Emirates, check its language is on the list. English, of course, is there.
How Meta decides what a UAE view is worth
Plenty of Gulf creator guides still describe ad breaks. Those are history: August 31, 2025 was the final earning day for In-stream Ads, Ads on Reels and the Performance Bonus Program, after which Meta invited eligible creators to Content Monetization.
The current model pays for the performance of your public reels, photos, stories and text posts, not for the ads shown inside them. In Meta's words, earnings rest on numerous factors that Meta alone decides, with qualified views and watch time among them, and they may shift over time. That's why I can't hand you a dirham rate. The same view count can pay very differently from one page to the next.
Some posts won't count at all:
- Reels under 10 seconds and stories under 5 seconds.
- Anything watched for less than 5 seconds.
- Boosted posts, which matters in the UAE where many pages promote their content.
- Posts where you've switched ads off, and posts you later delete.
- Clips that lose a copyright claim to their owner, or that another Page crossposts to you.
Calculating your own dirham figure per 1,000 views
Once you're onboarded, your monetisation tools show earnings and views for any date range you pick. Divide the earnings by the views, multiply by 1,000, and that's your real rate for that period. I'd track it monthly next to watch time, because watch time is one of the factors Meta names.
To see which Reels keep viewers watching, have a look at the simple Reels tracker I recommend. It's built around retention rather than raw views.
Dirhams, the dollar peg and getting paid in the Emirates
The UAE dirham (AED) is issued by the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates and divided into 100 fils. It's been pegged to the US dollar since November 1997, at 3.6725 dirhams to one US dollar. That peg makes any US dollar earnings easy to estimate in dirhams, which isn't true for creators in countries with floating currencies.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
Once you've joined, Meta asks you to add payout details in your monetisation tools. Its public help pages didn't show me the payout methods, the payout currency or the minimum balance for UAE creators, so rely on what your own tools offer. Ask your bank what it charges on incoming international payments. Meta's public pages I checked don't cover UAE tax, and many creators here are expats with ties to another country, so it's worth asking a local accountant about your own situation.
Subscriptions and Stars for Emirati and expat pages
Any Page based in the UAE can offer Subscriptions once it reaches Meta's bar. You'll want 10,000 followers, or 250 or more return viewers, and in the last 60 days either 50,000 post engagements or 180,000 watch minutes. Fitness coaches, cooks and language teachers with loyal communities in the Emirates are the kind of pages that tend to suit monthly memberships.
Stars let viewers tip you while you're live or when they enjoy a Reel or post. Each Star is worth 1 cent to the creator, according to Meta. The entry bar is a following of 500 people held for 30 consecutive days, and Stars has to be offered where you're resident. As Meta doesn't publish that country list, your monetisation tools are the place to find out.
One million views in the UAE: what to expect
If you've been invited, your post is in a supported language, it's your own work and people watched past the opening seconds, a million views will turn into a Content Monetization payout. The size of it depends on factors only Meta sees, so I won't make up a number.
Without an invitation, Meta may pay nothing directly for those views. Even so, brands in the Emirates pay close attention to creators who can show a million-view post to the right community, and a pitch with that screenshot opens doors quickly.
