Twitch Partner Requirements (2026): Path to Partner Explained

To become a Twitch Partner you complete the Path to Partner achievement in your Creator Dashboard, or show a large, engaged audience on another platform, then apply for a manual review. Tubefilter describes the bar as 12 streams over a 60-day period with a predictable 75 or more viewers per stream, and Twitch says meeting it doesn't promise approval.

Partner is the status most streamers dream about, and it's also the one with the least clear rules. Unlike Affiliate, there's no automatic invitation: Twitch's own team reviews you. I've pulled together what Twitch's Partner page says, what reputable outlets have reported about the numbers, and how to read your own progress, so you're not working from a guess.

What Twitch's own Partner page asks for

Twitch's Partner page lists its Partnership criteria in plain terms:

  • Complete the Path to Partner achievement, or demonstrate large, engaged viewership or following on other services.
  • Stream content that follows Twitch's Community Guidelines, Terms of Service and DMCA Guidelines.
  • Be able to keep meeting the Path to Partner criteria on a consistent basis, not just once.

Twitch adds that the achievement shows the minimum it looks for, and that completing it doesn't guarantee Partnership. It also says it's looking for people who can act as role models for the community. That's the editorial side of the decision, and it's why two channels with similar numbers can get different answers.

The Twitch Path to Partner numbers

Twitch shows the exact Path to Partner targets inside your Achievements page, and they've been reported in two versions. It's worth knowing both, because you'll see each one quoted online.

The version Tubefilter reported

In its coverage of Twitch's first brand campaign open to Affiliates, Tubefilter described Partner qualification as 12 individual streams over a 60-day period with a predictable 75 or more viewers per stream. It added that hitting those numbers leads to an application with an internal review, and that Twitch can still say no.

The older version

Earlier reporting from TechCrunch described the bar as streaming 25 hours on 12 different days with an average of 75 viewers over a 30-day period, followed by manual approval from Twitch's Partnership team. Many guides still copy this version word for word.

The common thread is 75 viewers, sustained rather than reached once. Whichever version your dashboard shows, that's the number that takes most streamers the longest. The Achievements page is the version that counts for your account, so check it rather than relying on any article, mine included.

Which viewers count towards Twitch Partner

This is where Twitch's own sources disagree. The Partner page says viewership from hosts, raids, Reruns, Premieres, Front Page spotlight and Subscriber Streams doesn't count towards Partnership consideration. But Dexerto reported that on September 28, 2024 a Twitch staff member said raids now do count towards the average viewer figure for Partner goals.

My reading: organic viewers who come back to you on their own are what the review team wants to see, whatever the rule on raids. Treat any raid boost as a bonus, not the foundation, and never pad numbers with bots. Twitch reviews accounts by hand, and it's looking at the quality of the community as well as the count.

How to apply for Twitch Partner

  1. Reach Affiliate first. It's the usual stepping stone, and Twitch's Partner page points streamers who don't yet qualify towards it.
  2. Track Path to Partner on the Achievements page of your Creator Dashboard.
  3. Once you complete it, Twitch's Partner page says an apply button appears, and your application gets priority review.
  4. If you've built a big audience elsewhere, you can make the case through that route instead, using the large-viewership criterion.
  5. Wait for the review, and keep streaming to the same standard while you do. Twitch wants to see you can maintain the numbers.

If you're still working towards the first step, my guide to the current Twitch Affiliate requirements covers the lower bar and how the invitation works.

What Twitch Partner status gives you

Partner adds features that help a growing channel. According to Twitch's Partner page:

  • Up to 50 channel emotes, unlocked as your subscriber points grow
  • VODs stored for 60 days, compared with 14 days for Affiliates
  • A dedicated Partner Help team that aims to reply within 1-2 business days
  • A broadcast delay of up to 15 minutes, useful for competitive play
  • Up to 3 extra free lifetime channel subs for friends and family, based on your total subscribers
  • Custom chat badges, Cheermotes and a verified badge, plus consideration for promotional opportunities

Partner on its own doesn't change your sub split. TechCrunch reported that Twitch's Plus Program pays 60/40 to streamers who keep 100 Plus Points for three consecutive months, and 70/30 at 300 Plus Points. That programme is linked to recurring subs, not to your badge.

How rare Twitch Partner success is

Partner is an achievement, and the bigger rewards sit above it. TechCrunch, citing Stream Charts, reported that only about 1,000 of 42,366 active Partners had 350 or more monthly subs over the previous three months, roughly 2.5%. In other words, Partner opens the door, but most Partners still run modest channels. That's useful context if you're deciding how much time to give streaming against other platforms, the way I look at whether Threads pays creators before investing time there.

Frequently asked questions

What are the Twitch Partner requirements?

Twitch asks you to complete the Path to Partner achievement or show a large, engaged audience on another service, follow its guidelines, and keep meeting the criteria consistently. A manual review decides the outcome.

How many viewers do you need for Twitch Partner?

Both versions reported publicly centre on 75 viewers. Tubefilter described 12 streams over a 60-day period with a predictable 75 or more viewers per stream; your Achievements page shows the target for your account.

Do raids count towards Twitch Partner?

Twitch's Partner page says raids don't count, but Dexerto reported a Twitch staff member saying in 2024 that raids now count towards the average viewer figure. Check your Achievements page for what's included.

Do I become a Twitch Partner automatically if I hit the numbers?

No. Twitch says the achievement lists minimum criteria and completing it doesn't guarantee Partnership, because its team also reviews your content and community.

Do Partners get a better sub split?

Not automatically. TechCrunch reported that Twitch's Plus Program pays 60/40 at 100 Plus Points and 70/30 at 300 Plus Points, based on recurring subs.
