YouTube doesn't set a UAE rate per 1,000 views; your RPM depends on where your viewers are, your niche, your format and fan income. The UAE is on every YouTube monetisation list, and Google pays UAE creators by check, EFT or wire once they pass the AED 350 threshold in dirhams.
The UAE is home to a huge creator scene, from Dubai lifestyle vloggers and Abu Dhabi food channels to Arabic gaming streamers and expat money explainers. If you're one of them, you've probably wondered what a thousand views is worth. YouTube doesn't publish a UAE figure, so I'll explain how the number is formed and what makes the UAE one of the better-equipped places to monetise a channel.
Every YouTube money tool is open in the UAE
YouTube lists the United Arab Emirates on its Partner Program availability page, and on the expanded programme list as well. It also lists the UAE for channel memberships and for Super Chat and Super Stickers. That full set isn't something every country gets, so UAE creators start with more options than most.
- Ad revenue through the Partner Program.
- Channel memberships for loyal viewers who pay monthly for perks.
- Super Chat and Super Stickers during live streams and Premieres.
- A share of YouTube Premium revenue when subscribers watch your videos.
To qualify for ad revenue you'll need 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 qualified watch hours in the past 12 months or 10 million qualified Shorts views in the past 90 days. The expanded tier comes earlier: 500 subscribers, 3 valid public uploads in the last 90 days, and 3,000 watch hours or 3 million Shorts views. It opens fan funding before ads, which is handy if your live streams already draw a crowd.
What decides your RPM as a UAE creator
RPM is YouTube's measure of what you've earned per 1,000 video views, after its revenue share. It counts every view, including views without ads, and it includes memberships, Premium, Super Chat and Super Stickers alongside ads. That's why UAE channels that go live often can see a healthier RPM than channels that only upload.
A mixed audience
Many UAE channels draw viewers from all over the world, partly because so many residents come from elsewhere. YouTube's analytics help notes that geography affects CPM, so your RPM reflects the blend of countries your viewers sit in. A Dubai real estate channel watched in the UK and India will earn differently from one watched mostly inside the Emirates.
Arabic or English
Language shapes who sees your videos and which advertisers bid for them. Neither is better by default. What matters is matching your language to the audience your niche advertisers want to reach.
Shorts and long videos
Shorts ad revenue is pooled and shared by engaged views among monetising creators in each country, and you keep 45% of what's allocated to you. Long videos earn from ads placed around them, so they usually bring more per view.
Getting paid in dirhams
The UAE has one of the most flexible payout setups of any country I've looked at. Google's AdSense for YouTube payment table lists check, EFT and wire transfer for the United Arab Emirates. Whichever you pick, the bank must be in the same country as your payments address.
If your AdSense reporting currency is the United Arab Emirates dirham, the payment threshold on Google's page is AED 350. Earnings below that carry forward until you reach it. You'll verify your identity before payments start, and Google checks your address once you reach 10 US dollars or the local equivalent.
US tax info for UAE-based YouTubers
YouTube asks creators outside the US to submit US tax info. With it in place, YouTube withholds only from earnings that come from US viewers, at a rate between 0 and 30% depending on treaty status. The United Arab Emirates isn't on the IRS list of US income tax treaties, so check the form's guidance carefully.
Want AI doing the heavy lifting in your marketing?
I build the systems that handle the boring 80 percent, so you get your week back. Done properly, with the human kept in.
If you don't submit the form on an individual account, YouTube says 24% of your worldwide earnings will be withheld, and on a business account the default is 30% of US earnings. I can't advise on your own tax position, so please speak to a UAE-based accountant.
Making a viral video count in the UAE
A million views won't map to a fixed dirham amount, because RPM varies so much. The honest way to estimate is to take your RPM from YouTube Studio and multiply it by the views in thousands. Then add what a spike brings in: new members, bigger Super Chat sessions and brand interest.
Brand deals can be a big part of creator income in the UAE, and a growing channel gives you better evidence to pitch with. Keep screenshots of your audience geography and watch time to show brands who you reach.
If you're still building your format, my list of faceless YouTube channel ideas covers styles that work without showing your face. And if you're comparing payout rules, the South African guide shows a country that only has EFT, while the Sri Lanka guide shows one with wire and check only.
