Is InboxDollars Legit? Cash-Out Rules and Catches (2026)

InboxDollars is a real rewards site owned and operated by Prodege, and its own pages describe cashing out by gift card, PayPal or Visa. The catch is that its help pages and its payment terms disagree on the minimum and the wait, so check the live screen in your account, and don't expect much from small tasks.

InboxDollars is one of the longest-running names in the get-paid-online world, which is exactly why people ask whether it's still worth bothering with. I went through its help centre and terms to see what the company itself commits to, and one thing jumped out straight away: the pages don't all say the same thing about cashing out.

Who owns InboxDollars and how you earn

InboxDollars states that it's owned and operated by Prodege, and the Terms of Use name Prodege, LLC, a California limited liability company, as the operator of its sites. So there's a named company behind it, not an anonymous site.

The site's menu lists the ways to collect rewards: surveys, PaidEmail, shopping, coupons and games. Each one converts your time or spending into balance on your account, and the amount per activity varies, so I won't quote any average. Treat it as small, patchy extra cash rather than wages.

The InboxDollars cash-out rules, and where they clash

Here's the bit that matters most if you're on the fence. InboxDollars' help article on requesting payment says you need at least 15 dollars for a first request, then 10 dollars or more, in increments of 10, for later ones. It says gift cards take on average 3 -5 business days to process and PayPal about 3 business days.

But the separate Payment Terms page says there's no redemption of cash until you have at least thirty dollars posted to your account. It also says requests are processed on the first Wednesday at least 8 days after you ask, so the wait is between 10 and 16 days.

I can't tell you which page is current, and I'd rather say so than guess. The sensible move is to open the Request Payment screen inside your own account and go by what it shows. If the figures there look different from the ones above, trust the screen.

InboxDollars cash-out options

  • Virtual gift cards. The help article says there's no additional fee, and mailed cards aren't offered.
  • PayPal. Your InboxDollars name and email must match your PayPal account exactly, and the PayPal account must be bank-account verified.
  • Visa. Offered where available, according to the help article.

One rule to know before you press the button: InboxDollars says payments can't be reversed, refunded or stopped, because the process is automated. Double-check the details first.

Who can join InboxDollars

Prodege's Terms of Use bar anyone under 13, and say users under 18 need a parent's or guardian's approval. They allow one account per person in each rewards program, and duplicate accounts can be removed. The terms also exclude people connected to countries under a United States embargo.

I couldn't find a plain list of supported countries in the terms, so if you're outside the United States, check the sign-up screen and the help centre before you spend any time on it.

What to watch for with InboxDollars

  • Reversals. The Payment Terms say a pattern of completed offers followed by reversals may result in account termination and cancellation of your cash.
  • Holds and final decisions. Requests may be held for information, and InboxDollars' fraud decisions are described as binding and final.
  • Dormant accounts. Prodege's terms say an account that hasn't met minimum activity standards for twelve consecutive months may be closed. Log in and stay active if you've left a balance sitting there.
  • Arbitration. Disputes go to binding arbitration with a class-action waiver, though there's a 30 day opt-out after you accept the terms.
  • Tax paperwork. The Payment Terms say tax information is required for payments greater than 300 dollars, and members earning 600 dollars or more in a calendar year receive a 1099.

Tax rules differ by country and situation, so check with an accountant or the tax office. My article on whether side hustles get taxed explains the basics from a UK angle.

Is InboxDollars worth your time

It's a real company with named terms, so I wouldn't call it a trick. But the rewards are small and slow to build, and the mismatch between its own pages is a reminder to read before you rely on it.
