No, TikTok Shop isn't on TikTok's published list of regions for Australia, and TikTok's ANZ business lead said she wasn't aware of any plans to launch it. Australian brands can still sell to shoppers in countries where it runs.
If you've opened TikTok in Sydney or Melbourne and found no Shop tab, you haven't missed a setting. The honest picture is that Australia isn't on the list of places where TikTok runs a local shop for sellers, and TikTok's own regional leader in Australia has said she isn't aware of any plans to change that. Here's what I found, and what Australian sellers and creators can still do.
What TikTok's own seller site shows for Australia
TikTok's seller site has a region menu. It lists the United States, Mexico and Brazil; the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Japan, plus a separate Global Selling site; and Germany, France, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom. Australia isn't on the menu.
I also opened the page under the Australian address on that site. It turned out to be the United States seller portal, and it says sellers need to be in a supported market. So there's no Australian version to register on. I'm describing what TikTok has published, which is different from saying it will never happen.
What TikTok's Australian leadership has said
At TikTok Spotlight in Sydney, Amy Bradshaw, who is general manager of global business solutions for Australia and New Zealand at TikTok, said she wasn't aware of any plans to launch TikTok Shop in Australia. That comes from a report in Marketing-Interactive, which presents it with its own commentary, so read it as one executive's comment at one event, not as a company policy statement.
You'll find plenty of pages online promising a launch date. Many are predictions from people who don't work at TikTok. I'd treat a launch date as unconfirmed until TikTok publishes an Australian seller page.
What Australian brands do instead: sell to shoppers overseas
This is the most useful part of the story. The same report says Bradshaw told the event that almost 20 Australian brands already use TikTok Shop to reach audiences overseas. She named HiSmile and EHP Labs as examples. In other words, the shop doesn't have to be open in your home country for your products to be sold in markets where it is.
TikTok's published pages don't explain the route in detail, and I haven't found a TikTok page saying what an Australian business must set up to qualify. So treat it as a lead to investigate in two places: the Global Selling site linked from the seller menu, and the Australian business team at TikTok. If you're considering it, ask specifically about registration, who handles shipping and returns, and what currency you're paid in.
Being paid in Australian dollars while the shop isn't local
Since there's no Australian TikTok Shop, there's no Australian payout schedule to describe. Any sales you made overseas would be settled through whichever route TikTok's team put you on. The Australian dollar question is therefore one to settle before you sign anything, along with how your bank handles incoming foreign currency and what it charges. Please ask an Australian accountant about GST and income tax, because I can't answer those from TikTok's pages.

Australian creators: what's open and what isn't
There are three separate things to check here.
- TikTok Shop affiliate rewards. TikTok says affiliate creators collect rewards from products sold through their videos, LIVE and product showcase, for people aged 18 and over. That depends on a shop existing in the market, so I wouldn't expect it to apply to an Australian audience while Australia is off the list.
- Creator Rewards Program. It's open in eight countries, and Australia isn't one of them.
- LIVE. TikTok says you need to be 18 or meet the age of majority, and that cashing out to a bank or PayPal account depends on region. Whether gifts are switched on for your account is something Creator Tools will show you, and I can't tell you from outside the app.
For the other platforms that do pay in Australia, I've set out the position in separate guides: what YouTube pays per 1,000 views in Australia, what Facebook pays and what Snapchat pays in Australia.
What I would do if I sold products from Australia
- Keep posting product content on TikTok. The audience is the asset, whether or not a local shop exists.
- Build somewhere you can take orders yourself, so your sales aren't tied to one app.
- Find out whether the overseas route suits your product, price and shipping costs before spending on it.
- Check TikTok's seller site region menu now and then. When Australia appears there, you'll know it's official.
A quick summary table

| Selling to overseas shoppers | Done by Australian brands, per TikTok's ANZ team | Marketing-Interactive report |
| Creator Rewards Program | No, not on the eight-country list | TikTok Creator Academy |
| Affiliate rewards | Tied to a live shop in the market | TikTok Creator Academy |
