Instagram doesn't pay Nepali creators per view or per follower, and Nepal isn't named in Meta's announced country lists for Instagram gifts, bonuses or brand matching. Creators in Nepal earn from Instagram mainly through brand partnerships priced in Nepalese rupees, and Nepal is listed for invite-only Facebook Content Monetization if you share your Reels there too.
If you create in Kathmandu, Pokhara or anywhere else in Nepal, you've probably watched a creator abroad open their dashboard to show a payout and wondered why yours looks empty. It isn't you. Instagram simply doesn't run a pay-per-view scheme, and the few direct-pay tools it has haven't been announced for Nepal. Let me walk you through what's open, what isn't, and how Nepali creators are turning attention into rupees anyway.
Which Instagram earning tools has Meta named for Nepal?
None so far, based on Meta's own announcements. Here's how it breaks down:
- Gifts: Meta expanded them to 33 named countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan in Asia. Nepal isn't on that list.
- Bonuses: these are limited time and invite-only. The holiday bonus Meta described was tested in the United States, South Korea and Japan.
- Brand-matching hub: started in the US, then Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Japan, India and Brazil. Nepal isn't named.
- Subscriptions: Meta said they launched in an additional 35 countries but didn't list them, so check your own account.
The check that settles it for your account is the Professional Dashboard. If you see a Monetisation area offering gifts or subscriptions, they're on for you. If not, no amount of posting will switch them on, so put your energy into the routes that do work.
Nepal's Instagram users are unusually concentrated
Here's why brands in Nepal take Instagram seriously. DataReportal says Meta's ad tools showed 4.35 million Instagram users in Nepal in late 2025, and that Instagram's ad reach equalled 26.3 percent of Nepal's internet users at the end of 2025. That's a high share, and 21.7 percent of adults aged 18 and above were on the app.
The same report puts Nepal's adult Instagram ad audience at 41.2 percent female and 56.5 percent male. If you make tech, gaming, motorbike, football or fitness content, you're in a strong spot. If your audience is mostly women, tell brands that clearly, because it's a less crowded space for them to buy into.
A lesson from Nepal's 2025 platform shutdown
Nepali creators learned something the hard way. According to Wikipedia's account of the 2025 Gen Z protests, the government ordered, on 4 September of that year, 26 social media platforms, including Facebook and YouTube, shut for failing to register under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology's new rules. The ban was lifted on 8 September, after the protests.
Four days is a long time if every rupee you earn depends on one app. That's the strongest argument I know for building income you control: a contact list, a WhatsApp community, your own simple website, and brand clients who know how to reach you away from any single platform. Instagram is a brilliant shop window. It shouldn't be the whole shop.
How the money reaches Nepali creators
Nepal's currency is the Nepalese rupee, code NPR, issued by Nepal Rastra Bank. Most Instagram income in Nepal is paid by brands, so the method is whatever you agree: a bank transfer in rupees for local brands, or an international transfer if a foreign company hires you. Agree it in writing before you create anything, and ask who pays any transfer fees.
If Meta switches on a direct-pay tool for your account, the payout methods it supports for Nepal will appear when you set up payouts in your Professional Dashboard. I couldn't find a Meta page listing Nepal's options that I could read and check, so I'd trust that screen over anyone's tutorial.
Facebook is listed for Nepal, so use it
This is the most practical step on this page. Meta's help centre lists Nepal among the countries where Facebook Content Monetization ads are available. It's invite-only, and the rules don't exclude content crossposted from Instagram, only content crossposted by a Page you don't own or manage.
So share your best Reels to a Facebook Page you run, keep them original, and watch for an invite in the Facebook app or your Professional Dashboard. Facebook Subscriptions, on the other hand, aren't open to Pages in Nepal; outside Meta's 37 listed countries they're invite-only.

Pricing brand work as a Nepali creator
I haven't seen a reputable named source publish Instagram rates for Nepal, so I won't put a rupee figure here. Instead, build your price from evidence the brand can see:
- Pull your average reach across recent Reels, not your single best post.
- Show where your audience lives. A Kathmandu restaurant wants local followers.
- Offer a small package: one Reel and three Stories is easy for a brand to say yes to.
- Ask for the brand's budget before naming yours.
- After the campaign, send them the results. Repeat clients are where steady income comes from.

Tax and paperwork
I'm not a tax adviser and I don't know your circumstances. Speak to a Nepali accountant about how creator income should be declared, and keep a record of every payment and invoice from day one.
