SaaS link building is the work of earning or placing links to a software company's site from other relevant websites, so search engines and AI tools trust it more and buyers find it. On my marketing blog, SaaS companies place links through roundup placements, link insertions into existing articles and sponsored articles.

Most SaaS link building advice is written for agencies selling volume. This page is written for the SaaS marketer or founder who wants a handful of placements that make sense: on a site their buyers read, next to the tools their buyers compare.

What good SaaS link building looks like

  • Relevant sites. Links from blogs about the problem your software solves, read by the people who buy it.
  • Comparison pages. Being named in the roundups buyers use to build a shortlist, which also feed AI answers.
  • Pages that already rank. A link added to an indexed article can be found faster than a brand new post.
  • Variety. A mix of articles, roundups and mentions, not one template repeated across many sites.

SaaS placements on my blog

  • Roundup placements: your tool named and described in a relevant list, next to its competitors. See feature your tool.
  • Link insertions: your link added in context to an article that is already published and indexed. See link insertions and niche edits.
  • Sponsored articles: a new article about a problem your software solves. See sponsored articles.
  • Newsletter features: a short write up for business owners in my weekly email. See newsletter sponsorships.

If you would rather write a guest post yourself, my SaaS guest post guidelines explain what I accept.

Who it suits

  • B2B SaaS selling to small businesses, marketers, agencies or ecommerce teams
  • AI tools that want to be named where buyers compare options
  • SaaS marketing teams and agencies building links for a software client

SaaS link building agency or going direct?

An agency is useful when you need placements across many sites and someone to manage them. I'm not an agency; I'm the publisher. Going direct makes sense when you already know the kind of site you want: you see the page before you agree anything, and there is a named owner to email if anything changes.

How it works

  1. Use my contact form or email [email protected] with your website, your target URL and the topic or category you have in mind.
  2. I reply with what fits: a new sponsored article, a link in an existing article, a roundup placement or a newsletter feature.
  3. You send the article or the points you want covered, or I write it so it matches the rest of the blog.
  4. We agree the details and I send a PayPal invoice.
  5. I publish and send you the live link.

Why this blog

The blog covers marketing, AI, social media, productivity and small business software, and a lot of that coverage is in roundups and comparisons. I've spent 21 years in marketing, built, scaled and sold a digital marketing agency, and been listed by Forbes in the Top 20 Social Media Power Influencers. I've also reviewed and ranked more than three hundred tools, so I know what readers want to see before they try one.

Ready to start? Use my contact form, my write for me page or email [email protected] with your website, the page you want readers to reach and the topic you have in mind. You'll get a straight answer, usually within a working day.

Frequently asked questions

What is SaaS link building?

SaaS link building is earning or placing links to a software company's website from relevant sites, so search engines and AI tools trust it more and the right buyers find it.

Which placements work best for SaaS?

Mentions in roundups and comparisons your buyers read, and links inside articles that already rank for your category. Both put you in front of people who are choosing a tool.

Can my tool be added to an existing roundup?

Often, yes, if it fits the category. Tell me which roundup you have in mind or ask me to suggest one.

Do you link out to every tool in a roundup?

No. Tools are named and described in the list. A linked placement is something we agree.

Are you a SaaS link building agency?

No. I'm the publisher of lilachbullock.com and offer placements on my own blog only.

How do I pay?

By PayPal invoice, once the details are agreed.
